B^2TSM is the newest boy group under BangYGEntertainment. CLASSICAL MUSIC REFERENCES: 0:00 Bach - Toccatta and Fugue in D minor (Opening) 0:24 Also Bach Toccatta and Fugue in D minor, specifically the start of the fugue section, is looped in the background of Bach's verse 0:29 If you didn't notice "B2TSM" is an acronym for their names Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Mozart. 0:42 "that's how you get the Art of Fugue" refers to a set of 14 fugues and 4 canons by Bach that are all based on a single theme, and ordered in increasing complexity. It's viewed as like a textbook of contrapuntal techniques. 0:50 The background loop of Mozart's verse is Symphony no.40 in G minor movement 1. Interestingly, Beethoven took inspiration from this symphony for his own 5th Symphony even copying out some bars of Mozart in his sketchbooks for it. No idea if this was intentional by TSV. 0:54 "lick my ass" refers to Mozart's song called Leck Mich im Arsh. He had a crude sense of humour. 0:56 "attend my greatest mass" probably refers to Mozart's Great Mass in C minor. It's incomplete for unknown reasons. It could also refer to Mozart's Requiem Mass in D minor, which is probably his most famous mass. It's incomplete for known reasons; namely, he died while writing it. 0:57 "let me blow my Magic Flute" refers to one of Mozart's most popular and influential operas, The Magic Flute 1:02 "when you play my Nachtmusik" refers to Mozart's famous Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. 1:03 Tchaikovsky's verse takes its melody from the main theme of his ballet Swan Lake, most famously heard in the Act 1 finale. 1:11 "Gone is my Juliet" is a reference to Tchaikovsky's Fantasy Overture for Romeo and Juliet. It may also refer to the heartbreak in his life, however TSV may have overlooked the fact that Tchaikovsky was homosexual and so would be missing his "Romeo" instead. 1:17 Duh Duh Duh Dum refers to the opening and central motif of Beethoven's 5th symphony, sometimes called 'the fate motif'. 1:28 the background sheet music is Bach's manuscript for his Ab major fugue from Book 2 of The Well-Tempered Klavier. 1:31 The background loop is Shostakovich's DSCH motif which he used in many of his works, probably most easily heard in his String Quartet No.8. DSCH was code for his name, since the motif D Eb C B in German letter names is D Es C H, and the German spelling of his name is Dmitri Schostakowitsch. 1:34 "Sick of writing for the Stalin government" refers to Shostakovich's bad relationship with Soviet authorities (including denunciations of him, and the killing & imprisonment of some friends and family), while the Soviet propaganda department loved commissioning him to write patriotic music (e.g his 2nd Symphony) as he was a talented composer. 1:44 "Hear my last premiere" probably refers to Tchaikovsky's final premiere of his 6th Symphony, 9 days before his death. Some speculate the symphony was a suicide note. 1:58 In addition to Beethoven's 5th, the fugue section from Bach's Toccatta and Fugue in D minor pops up again in the background loop. Also the choreography is the standard conductor's signal for counting out a bar of 4/4 time (also appeared partially at 1:17). 2:12 The melody of Beethoven's verse is Fur Elise. Also, "Classical, Romantic got them both" refers to the fact that Beethoven's style is viewed as bridging the Classical and Romantic periods. 2:23 "Deaf to the hate" refers to the fact that Beethoven went deaf. People told him he couldn't compose when he was deaf, but he didn't listen to them. Most of his famous works came after he was partially or totally deaf. 2:29 The violinist is meant to be Paganini; the devil horns refer to him being so good at violin that he was rumoured to have sold his soul to the devil. 2:30 Sadly, I can't tie the violin solo to any specific Paganini work, but it resembles Paganini Caprice no.5, especially the run at 2:41 2:45 The song ends with the end of the 1st movement of Beethoven's 5th symphony At 2:49 the pianist does not have the right sheet music music open for the end of Beethoven's 5th. Instead, it's a piano reduction of Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet overture.

Yess samee. I wish there's a part of the music industry that remakes classical hits into edm or pop music 😃 nowadays people are too into pop music including me, and have little attention on classical music pieces cos it might not relate to them. However, if classical music pieces can be remade into pop or edm it's gonna be great!!!! 👍🏻
Should've been "gluten" and "can't touch this organ" but I can understand why they'd want to keep it classi... classi... classical. Sorry about the stutter.
I am a massive fan of Shostakovich, and in my opinion, he is one of the best composers when it comes to expressing the terrifying visions of the war and putting it into his music. an absolute genius. the song captures his emotions so well and showcases that inner demon that chased him throughout his career. Absolute goosebumps. massive love twoset! brilliant song!
Same here man, shostakovich is so gooood, i can't tell how much listen I listen to shostakovich's music, his symphonies, concertos, quartets.... Omfg. Shostakovich was a genius. What's your his favorite work.

@@yanneldor my most favorite is his 11th symphony. And his other works which I listens daily are his 1 cello concerto, 8th string quartet, 7,9,10&5 symphony, piano trio no 2, and many more. This! I was just about to say this! I kid you not i almost started jumping with joy when i heard twoset quote part of his eight string quartet in his part. Shostakovich has been one of my biggest inspirations as a violinist and conposer, and his eighth string quartet has always been a big favourite. You took the words right out of my mouth!

I like how they paid attention to the details. Like how Bach, the most religious of them looks absolutely horrified, when Paganini, the devil's violinist enters or how Shostakovich looks like he's getting a panic attack when someone's approaching the door.
all of this is just too special to be ignored , i will save my place to edit this comment later , i will be the forth who will say something about it , probably about bach , he's my favorite and i have a good excuse to tallk about him.
I honestly thought this was gonna be just a joke, but I was completely blown away by the sheer amount of thought that went into this and just how good this is. Definitely gonna be looking forward to more of B²TSM!!! Good job, TwoSet!!!!
@@BreadBoi-0 I'm in no way knowledgeable about pop music myself, but these are the few that i picked up: 1) Eddy saying "B2TSM in your era" at 0:31 is a reference to BlackPink's Kill This Love 2) the chorus starts with "hit you with that Dun Dun Dun Dun" is a reference to BlackPink's Ddu-Du Ddu-Du. The title of this song is also a reference 3) the fact that they use rapping throughout the song 4) i think their band name B2TSM is also a small reference to one of the most influential kpop bands in the world, BTS. 5) this isn't a pop reference but B2TSM might also be a naughty reference to BDSM And yes the beats, the music style of this song (as you pointed out) and the whole MV style is also very pop

@@lu-cipher I mean, I figured at least a *little* , but I've always thought the guys have some really nice voices and could probably do pretty well vocally with just a little practice. I would *love* to see some candid footage of the recording sessions.
@@moonwatcher99 it's not heavily auto tuned, you can tell they have been working on their vocal techniques, they did a wonderful job ♡ would love a behind the scenes as well!
@@lu-cipher Can you imagine if they sold another round of tickets for live face time, like they did with the Virtual Tour? If A K-idol group actually did this kind of sampling, I would be 100% okay with it. Not only is it pretty banger but it also respects the original intention of the classical piece and redevelops it for a new era. A reimagining of Swan Lake’s pining for love and the battle between nature and man could be an excellent theme for a modern song but nope. Cars and money is the best we can come up with to put on top of classical works…
The Swan Lake pre-chorus is such a good touch, it sounds so good there. Also, I absolutely loved the touch of Paganini in a leather jacket looking like the whole ass rock legend he is LMAOOOO Edit: ALSO, SHOUTOUT TO SHAUN FOR THE AMAZING PRODUCTION!!! Edit 2: Brett being entirely in character for Mozart is so entertaining XD

so true, unknown besties. -love that wording. especially the nicknames though. i'll never see anyone befittingly call shostakovich shosty in a serious environment and i'm already disappointed-
Meh, I'd rather they stick to funny music education. There isn't much education in this, at least not much that we regular Muggles can understand. But it is fun.
I seriously think if they wanted to increase revenue, they could set up a paid channel where membership gets you behind the scenes bloopers and making-of content. That way none of their actual main content is behind a paywall, just bonus stuff. I would seriously pay for that, no problem. (Can you imagine all the outtakes they probably had filming the April Fools video?)
Though I won't be able to sign up for memberships like that, I'm really hoping they do it too. I've seen so many people who request it and are ready to pay for it. I remember Twoset had a poll on twitter asking about this and I think it was not well received? Not sure, but maybe that's why they haven't done it yet. I still think they should though, they work too hard and all their copy strikes are horrible
i just love how mozart’s just happy to be there while everyone else is having depression. stellar performance, guys. you’ve absolutely outdone yourselves ✨
I’m pretty sure he had depression at one point in his life though. He was obviously autistic and his characteristics were often joked about including his laugh and hand movements and facial expressions. As an autistic person or any autistic person really is far more susceptible to depression. I believe when he was composing music for the most part he was happy because it was what he loved. However when he got older he began to spiral after loosing his favorite thing that he loved. Autistic people are more likely to get addicted to alcohol as he did. But yeah while composing he was having the time of his life. Also I just realized the meaning of your comment and I totally went on a rant that was not needed lmao😂 sorry
@@xk05 all good! i’m always happy to be educated on things so you’re really doing me a service here; i appreciate ur time to type it all out! :D he is definitely one of the most interesting people to have lived and i can see how some of his outrageous behaviours, as often portrayed by others, can be linked to autism. sad that he had such an early end to his genius life though.

I'm not a big fan of k-pop but i have become a bigger Mozart and Tchaikovsky stan now 💖 I bet Mozart is like the baby of the group, the one that gets spoiled more and Tchaikovsky is the pretty boy of the band (i think it's called visual) either way. What an astounding job from both Eddy and Brett!!! 💖💖 I hope they release more from B²TSM in the future!!
@@irakulkarni5445 YEEES, I see Bach as the badass leader, Beethoven as the kind of mysterious guy but also the most professional one of the bunch, Tchaikovsky is the pretty boy that is a bit shy but very emotional, Shostakovich is like the bad boy but he's very chaotic and frantic (perhaps crackhead vibes??) And Mozart is the maknae (baby), the funny one and I can see him getting addicted to Twitter and/or TikTok, so he would be the one that most understands k-pop culture and memes.
Am I the only one who’s realized this but each composer is from a different era. Bach from baroque, Mozart from classical, Beethoven being a transitional of classical and romantic, Tchaikovsky being romantic, and Shostakovich being post romantic/Soviet era. You could also say they’re the best composer of each era. And on top of that the order of their seats from left to right is the order of who came first to the most recent.
Tchaikovsky's and Beethoven's vocals are so freaking amazing and Shostakovich's rap flow and delivery is something I've never heard before! Also want to point out Bach's amazing opening and Mozart's charisma! Their visuals are astonishing... Paganini at the end? Is he a villain?
Hope they don't break up due to "artistic differences." That's what seems to happen to most great bands. Glad to see Bach and Beethoven working together. Heard their relationship was pretty intense after that diss track episode awhile back.
As expected, this is an absolute banger. The most amazing debut song to exist. My new ults are now B²TSM, i'm not deciding my bias yet tho, they're all too good. I'm going to stream this all night long!

I never imagined this to have a choreo! I was so shocked, Shosty's wrecking me! Brett effortlessly killed his part! And the Swan Lake Pre-Chorus! Chef's Kiss!
This is the greatest thing I have ever witnessed 😛 Love the Blackpink Kill This Love “trumpet organ” intro becoming actual organ, and the overall texture influences taken from ddu du ddu/Kill This Love like the more staccato percussive 2nd rap verse with a distant reverby synth line…😂 and of course all the iconic classical music references! The best part is that the tone is not so repeating and copy paste like and is still so easy to listen like pop music which does copy paste to make things simple and easy to grasp. This is masterpiece and out of this world.

0:00 Bach - Toccatta and Fugue in D minor (Opening)
0:24 Also Bach Toccatta and Fugue in D minor, specifically the start of the fugue section, is looped in the background of Bach's verse
0:29 If you didn't notice "B2TSM" is an acronym for their names Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Mozart.
0:57 "let me blow my Magic Flute" refers to one of Mozart's most popular and influential operas, The Magic Flute
1:02 "when you play my Nachtmusik" refers to Mozart's famous Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
2:30 Sadly, I can't tie the violin solo to any specific Paganini work, but it resembles Paganini Caprice no.5, especially the run at 2:41
2:45 The song ends with the end of the 1st movement of Beethoven's 5th symphony
At 2:49 the pianist does not have the right sheet music music open for the end of Beethoven's 5th. Instead, it's a piano reduction of Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet overture.
Wow, thank you for this, it's really interesting and helpful :)

what pop references are there? i get all the classical ones but i thought the style was just pop
or is it like the beats and stuff or smth
@@BreadBoi-0 I'm in no way knowledgeable about pop music myself, but these are the few that i picked up:
1) Eddy saying "B2TSM in your era" at 0:31 is a reference to BlackPink's Kill This Love
2) the chorus starts with "hit you with that Dun Dun Dun Dun" is a reference to BlackPink's Ddu-Du Ddu-Du. The title of this song is also a reference
3) the fact that they use rapping throughout the song
4) i think their band name B2TSM is also a small reference to one of the most influential kpop bands in the world, BTS.
5) this isn't a pop reference but B2TSM might also be a naughty reference to BDSM

the power of the Swan Lake
If A K-idol group actually did this kind of sampling, I would be 100% okay with it. (Can you imagine all the outtakes they probably had filming the April Fools video?)
Though I won't be able to sign up for memberships like that, I'm really hoping they do it too. I've seen so many people who request it and are ready to pay for it. As an autistic person or any autistic person really is far more susceptible to depression. I believe when he was composing music for the most part he was happy because it was what he loved.
I think most of us realized, but it’s nicely done, isn’t it.

@MrВeast lol so funny
lol
i was literally headbanging the whole time
Shostakovich is my bias🤍🖤
maybe i am, i am the devils violinist afterall
Hope they don't break up due to "artistic differences." That's what seems to happen to most great bands. Glad to see Bach and Beethoven working together. Heard their relationship was pretty intense after that diss track episode awhile back.
lmao
Too cool for words. My jaw is dropped. KINGS, ABSOLUTE KINGS.
"I'm the king, make you sick when you play my nakhtmusik"

As expected, this is an absolute banger. The most amazing debut song to exist. My new ults are now B²TSM, i'm not deciding my bias yet tho, they're all too good. I'm going to stream this all night long!
Rn, Mozart is catching me with that Magic Flute line and _amazing_ visuals.
... if they keep consistently uploading, they might just beat out BgA for my fav group!
Lol I’m no musician, but so surprised how these pieces were able to be put in one. The transitions were on point. Beautiful job guys!

No, it's hold my bubble tea
So many brilliant lyrical, visual and musical references! It's really clever how Shostakovich's rap is interrupted by a knock at the door that blends seamlessly with the music at 1:35 indicating the fear of imprisonment or worse by the Soviet government coming to take him away.

The fact that they fused classical music from 200 years ago and modern pop music and rap, just 🤯
The best part is that the tone is not so repeating and copy paste like and is still so easy to listen like pop music which does copy paste to make things simple and easy to grasp. This is masterpiece and out of this world.
