There's a lot of misinterpretation here, largely due to broad misunderstandings of how "socialism with Chinese characteristics" is being implemented. Ben Norton has done great explainers on this.
One large difference: China has little interest in bailing out wild speculators in real estate (see: Evergrande). Another difference is time horizon. A third is the non-market role corporations play in China (i.e., it's not just about GDP or other western measures of 'growth'). A fourth is the different roles the national and provincial governments play in economic policy and implementation. A fifth is the issuance of 'golden shares.'
I could go on, but just follow Ben Norton before jumping to conclusions.
