Thankyou for the video. Will I be able to apply if I graduate under journalism and mass communication? Can I pursue any practical courses of films beside this while studying there?
Thanks for your message Anik. You will have to look up the entry requirements on the course page to see what undergraduate degress they accept. When I applied, they required a degree in the Humanities/Fine Arts/Social Sciences. I'm assuming journalism and communication would fall under one of those, but I'm not certain. I don't think you can enrol in more than one course at a time, and I don't think you would have time to do that. If you want to pursue filmmaking in your spare time, you can join the Oxford Filmmaking Foundation club, or instigate your own projects. But, overall, the MSt is very much theoretical, and not at all practical. Hope this helps, Zach
Thanks for replying Zach, I was planning to persue Film studies which is more of practical with master degree. Can you suggest me something related to that ?
Hi Ali, Thanks for your question. On the course page it says that they require "a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in the humanities, fine art or social sciences." I think marketing falls under social sciences, but I'm not certain. I'd advise emailing the course contact for clarification - here's the address: film.aesthetics@humanities.ox.ac.uk All best, Zach
Thank you for the video. I m going to start my masters in Film Aesthetics this October, I would like to socialise with the program's student, do you know any Facebook group for student's of this program, or instagram page where I know previous and upcoming students ..etc? Thanks
Hi Sanaa, Congratulations on the offer! I’m afraid I don’t know of any Facebook group or Instagram page that you can join to connect with your upcoming cohort. The first time I met mine was at the filmmaking workshop in October. However, I know there are Facebook groups for college MCRs that you can join to meet other people at your college. Perhaps you can start your own group for the 2021-2022 Film Aesthetics program, and hopefully other students will find the page in time. You could also try searching for Film Aesthetics students on LinkedIn. Hope this helps, Zach

@@AnikChawla I'm afraid I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are plenty of practical Master's available in the UK.
@@ZacharyXavier Thankyou so much Zach for replying.
Can you name some in UK if you know, Otherwise thankyou so much!
@@AnikChawla No problem. NFTS would be a start, but you can find others by searching online. All the best with it!
Would I be able to apply to the course if I have an undergrad in Marketing?
