Smoking affects the brain , having impact on behavior . Most smokers think it only has a negative effect on the lungs, I.e. breathing , congestion, etc...physical symptoms such as withdrawal, cravings, but any altering of the brain and how it functions affects our behavior too, emotions, response to stressors, etc... I’ve noticed people actually mourning the loss of a particular drug, including nicotine and hand /mouth behavior as part of addiction, like with crying for unknown reasons, depression, etc. Assuming the rewards are no longer activated , opposite affect , feelings of sadness, frustration , etc....
Thanks for the great presentation. Does neuroscience have much to say about the stage of brain development affects behaviour and capacity for behaviour change?
This guy has a great teaching apprach that does help open an important subject.
