Hay David, the candy cane man, LOL. Seriously though, thank you David and Emily and all your guests for an awesome year of inspired teaching, I just love you guys. Each we I see you, it's like catching up with friends for a weekly chat and study. My love for the scriptures has increased 10 fold since watching you. As a Sunday school teacher, your lessons have helped me to teach members of my ward in a more powerful way. I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys again in the New Year with the D&C and especially our monthly visits to the various sites. God bless you both and your wonderful families. Have a blessed Christmas and we all pray for a Happy New Year. Take care guys my lovelies, and as we say her in South London, Core Blimey, lovely Jubly and if you say that in one of your videos, I will just scream. Love ya gys, take care. Colin
I listen to you as I walk in the mornings and it is like walking with dear friends. This past week I have been trying to consciously go through my life and the life of my parents and our family to look for the tender mercies of the Lord in response to Moroni 10. Today as I listen to you, Emily made the comment about how the Lord remembers us in our little and simple things. And we may think, "And You remembered me here?" In that moment as you spoke, Emily, after having talked about the birth of Christ, I remember a sweet tender mercy that I had forgotten. We didn't have much money when our first child was born. My husband suggested that we could suggested we could use a box to make a safe bed. That was hard for my mother's heart, especially as I saw people around me with darling nurseries. My mother had a bassinet when we were babies and it just seemed to me like babies belonged in a wicker bassinet. if we had been close to family, I could have used hers, but we were far from any family. I knew that stretching money would not be helpful and so I was bravely trying to be practical and accept my husband's suggestion. We had been in the process of moving (and would move again the month after the baby was born) and so I didn't really know many people in the ward. I didn't have a friend and no one knew our situation. But then out of the blue, a sister called me and said, "I have a bassinet. Would you like to use it for your baby?" I was so humbled because God's most Beloved Son had laid in a manger in a stable, yet because a bassinet was important to me He provided it. It was so sweet to remember that experience this morning. Thank you for all you do to share light. I don't know how you do all that both of you do. I have to stretch just trying to keep up digesting it. How on Earth do you have time to produce all the good that you do? You have blessed us all so much this year! I'm so very grateful. Merry Christmas!
I was listening to Don't Miss This and noticed you guys talking about how the Shepherd was running towards the birth of the Christ Child. I made an amazing connection with what you were talking about and a recent project I completed.
I'm a Cinematographer/ Videographer and just 3 weeks ago I decided to make a Light the World video that went along with the church's theme. This video is about a Shepherd who sees the star and RUNS towards it. As he is following the star he faces many trials just as many of us did this year. As the Shepherd is running he loses the one thing that was lighting his way (his torch), but despite this discouragement he looks up and "Looks unto Christ" and when he does he sees a light in the distance and that light is the stable where the Christ Child is. He gets up and RUNS to the stable!
Anyways, if nothing else I just made a really cool connection today between how you described how the Shepherds went immediately with haste and how as I was creating the video I envisioned the Shepherd RUNNING towards the star. I listened and wanted to share my insight with you! You guys are amazing. Your podcast is changing lives Thank You!
If you guys would like to watch my video it would mean the world to me! Here is the UA-cam Link: ua-cam.com/video/mFVyaKYfnxY/v-deo.html and Facebook Link: facebook.com/100035281294335/videos/418755442643829/
Thank you so much for this beautiful Christmas message! I really enjoyed watching Courtney and listening to her. I am the same when it comes to feeling the spirit in the kitchen. I told my husband that if it could be a love language, making food and treats and giving it to others is definitely the way that I show my love towards others. I love the reminder that we can all feel God's love in our own way even in the kitchen! I hope you all have a great Christmas! ♥️💚
30 thumbs up!!!! 👍🏼💖💖🎄 what a sweet lesson and I loved the cake guest. She’s so incredibly sweet!!! I loved her testimony regarding her darkest night and then feeling the Savior enter in her life. Someone said that Jesus Christ is a God of the 4th watch (or something like that.). That he comes at the last minute when you have tried everything and you’re sure you’ve done all you can. Does anyone remember hearing this concept? Merry CHRISTmas every one!!! What a great year of Book off Mormon immersion. I’ve never loved the Book of Mormon as much as I loved it this year - and thanks to you.
This is so beautiful! Courtney’s spirit and testimony added so much to this special message and was exactly what my soul needed. Thank you all 3 of you!
Today I felt inspired to listen to the Book of Mormon all day long as I get ready for my family to come for Christmas tomorrow. As I listen I keep thinking back to all the things we studied during the past year. What a blessing this is to me! Thank you Emily and David for your insights and love. What a great year it has been! Merry Christmas! ⭐❤⭐❤
Thank you for the gift of helping me understand the Book of Mormon in a different view this year. It is your gift to me. I am looking forward to studying with you next year and have your books ready and waiting.
Thank you for this year in the Book of Mormon. ❤️ I love both of your insights. You add the spirit with joy and a sense of humor. ❤️ Can’t wait for you to help me love the Doctrine and Covenants. 😉
Gifts.....I love giving them, be it a homemade ornament or a painting on a rock, or something from the kitchen! The BEST gift of all that I've received was my Testimony, knowing that God sent the Holy Ghost to me for my understanding to remove the scales of unbelief off of my eyes and heart! that's the Greatest gift of all !
I studied with you all last year. I used a journal edition of the Book of Mormon to write in. I have felt closer to my Savior Jesus Christ this year. Thank you so much. This year I’m so excited as my friend bought me your journal. I’m so looking forward to this year with the D&C
We decided to have our Elf bring your book to us. Every night we read ones section of it and my kiddos take turns putting one of the nativity figurines into the stable. Although my kids look forward to it. I find myself learning and appreciating the birth of Christ even more. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. Merry Christmas
@@bj76052 depends on how much milk you are boiling. But it is very simple. As soon as the milk is boiling, turn off the heat and start with the juice of half lemon and stir with a wooden spoon. If nothing happens continue adding the other half of lemon. Stir. You will know it is enough lemon juice when it starts to separate the solid from the liquid. Use a mesh strainer and your ricotta is ready!.
That must be why you LOVE The Chosen! The shepherd video is of the shepherds running to see the baby! How awesome was that?! Even the shepherd with the crutch was running! LOVE IT!! 💜🏃
I have loved studying this year. I'm so sad because I feel I'm leaving my family behind. I've joined in their studies, struggles, victories, and joys. I've become a member of their family and it's hard to say goodbye for now. It's been an awesome ride and I hope my next reading of it will be as impactful. Thank you for all you do to help us.
I bought your D&C Don’t Miss This book for my hubby for Christmas. As we looked through it, it mentioned this video series on UA-cam. I’ve never seen it before, but am SO THRILLED we found you! This episode was life changing, and I can’t wait to study with you from now on. THANK YOU so much for doing this for us. What an amazing gift!
Thank you for your insights and instruction as we drew closer to the Savior through the feasting of the words of Christ as shared by his chosen servants. We love your insights and personal testimony!
We’ll take your word that the cake was great. And a special thank you to your guest, Courtney, for not just sharing your talent but your testimony and comments. BTW I brought the Nativity for my youngest daughter. I’ll see what she thinks. I did enjoy the lesson and look forward to next year. You two are a good match to put the message across. Special shoutout to Christopher for his time and input each week. Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and Joyous New Year. May we start to be Covid free soon.
i love it! This episode made me realize that the HUMBLE and LOWLY shepherds were physically close to the Savior, they were told DIRECTLY from heaven and they RAN to see their newborn Lord. The three wise men/three kings (people that in our wordly perception would be the 'better' ones) were physically far away, they were led by an indirect source THE STAR, and they traveled for a long time and over a de-tour (going to Herod first) to then finally come unto Christ. Now, when they did come they brought their MOST PRECIOUS gifts and obviously they were ALL IN - but man how fascinating - how different the starting points and the journeys to the Savior. To Immanuel, God among us, ❤️❤️❤️
When you grabbed the nativity set, I was reminded of the nativity set from Mexico. That set always has a statue of the adversary-a red, evil looking statue is always in the Mexican nativity set. Makes you think (probably thousands of amazing angels with drawn swords kept the adversary away)

I also cannot eat gluten. Kind of cruel how people gather with treats then shrug their shoulders when you are offered nothing. Let’s be a bit more considerate.
You can always bring a plate to share when you are on a special dietary requirement or eat before you come or let the host and hostess know of your needs in advance.
I have often wondered why a God would come to the earth and this year as I was reading some of the Christmas stories I have collected through out the years and the story that comes to mind is "Christmas Geese"

Help me understand how you can feel like the least, what is that feeling,... when I think of the people who live in pure poverty. Even the shepherds fared better than many in the Third World. Sometimes it is our self doubt of feeling not good enough. We feel the least. It's not about posessions as much as the state of our heart, and can be felt in any circumstance.
Oh my goodness Emily!! My 7 year old daughter has Celiac too and she will be soooo excited to know that you are just like her 💕💕💕

Merry Christmas to you as well! Where's the cake?

I also cannot eat gluten. Kind of cruel how people gather with treats then shrug their shoulders when you are offered nothing. Let’s be a bit more considerate.
You can always bring a plate to share when you are on a special dietary requirement or eat before you come or let the host and hostess know of your needs in advance.
