It’s gonna be interesting to see how the studio series version will compare to the mainline figure
I hear the studio series version is supposed to be a leader class
The mainline birb is far superior than the Studio Series. I wonder if it will be the same for Munkey.

Most likely the studio series is gonna be a slight retool/repaint of the mainline primal
We don't need a studio series version of Primal. If you want some other rise of the beasts figure to scale with leader class scourge, you could wait for studio series Optimus Prime. Or you could repaint the mainline Prime if you have him and try to make him better.
I like the design of the Beast Wars characters for the movie but I think they should be given their original Beast Wars colors to make them stand out a little more
Gotta expect repaints down the line.

I kinda love that they made the fanmode double bladed sword everyone used to do with his original Ultra Class toy into his actual weapon

The sculping for the fur is well done, but the back legs were prime. I wish they have knees so they can bend . I think this will make the toy a little bigger so the legs could bend when he’s in Ape mode. The back flap around his glutes, could use some work, so it can be reconfigured onto another part of the body, without it interfering with the possibility, or the movements of the action figure possibly yet and a little more detail on the chess plate
I honestly would love to get this guy, especially since I don't have a Primal in my collection, apart from Optimal Optimus, but I want to see what the SS figure will look like before getting this one, since that's basically what's stopping me from getting the mainline Prime figure
If there is one transformer that has zero excuse for a lack if range if motion, it would be optimus primal. It is such a minor relative conversion from ape to robot.
He just stands up straight, feet changes some, sholder pads, then head change. At least the chug had a ton if gimicks to make up for the super simple transformation.
I URGENTLY need for them to show the Studio Series one soon or I'm gonna succumb and buy this one.

That chest transformation is really clever.
But that gorilla head is way, way too small.
it's a little ironic that he's praising this figure for having the shoulder pads not go down with the arms, when the kingdom figure does the same thing, if not better because those even click into place making it a sure thing no matter what that they will stay in place
I am hoping from an Apelinq... If there's none, I'll just make one from this mold...
This guy looks great but I’m likely going to wait for the studio series figure

When I first saw pics of this figure I didn't even consider buying him, but BOY was I wrong! He's become one of my favorite figures. Both modes are so much fun. I would change some things about this but then again we have the SS leader coming up and this one is so simple and fun and cool looking, especially after I did a full repaint.

Love the look of the ape and the robot mode
I kinda don't vibe with the total lack of color. I think a Transmetal or Beast Machine custom paint job would do wonders
I was fiddling with this Primal as I watched the video, he not a bad figure, I think what they did with the chest, makes him a bit more intersting and unlike the Kingdom figure, he has no hollow gaps around the head area, so the SS verison will have to do this figure transformation and more to impress people espeically with the leader class budget!
mainline should mean simpler figures, which they are, but they pose so well, something that they could have not do
I think Primal has my favorite movie redesign.
Gonna commit a crime if I don't find these voyagers sometime soon

I wish my Walmart weren’t being idiots and would actually stock the prime and primal voyager class figures I’ve only been able to find rhinox, and that’s it not even a single other mainline deluxe or Voyager

was hoping he would match mainline cheetor and airazor, but he just looks like the dull movie versions. Even the smashformer has the chest, head and knees decked out in a eye catching bright blue.

You are lucky to have this figure bro! He is sold out everywhere! The people on eBay are selling him for $70-$100! And that includes shipping cost! Walmart refuses to restock on that figure and I don’t know why.
The music is very Final Fantasy VII. Neat.

Wish he was more colorful in robot mode. The movie Maximals have been real bad for bland decos. Looks solid otherwise.

Monkey…and Truck… seems so right… Hey, maybe an old modelers trick - thin, clear fishing line… Tie somewhere on his arms/legs/body and suspend him from a figure stand, posed for action. With 3rd party these days, I think the butt-flap will be fixed.

I can't help but feel they'll call this guy just Primal in the movie. It was fine to call him Optimus in Beast Wars since while Prime was there he was in stasis lock and didn't talk but it'll be mass confusion if they're both called Optimus in the movie.
I quite like this guy. I'd like to get that recent double pack of Primal and Megatron that are retools and recolors of their Kingdom figures. I'm also still holding out hope to get the Primal masterpiece sometime too but I wouldn't mind getting this figure.

For me it’s the lack of colour mainly in the toros maybe some green lines as accents to help bring out the eyes

And then there's chunky, he's dead.
I like the shapes, the chunkyness and head rock. But it looks kinda boring with the colors.
Put out the call. Someone needs to design up a stand clip designed around this figure. It's the 2020's, there's no reason to put up with this boy not getting some air.
What's putting me off about this figure is the robot hand is the same for the gorrila hands! I know it was the same with Kingdom Primal but at least his hands were more gorilla like!
I would of prefered having a way to open the arm to reveal the gorilla hands and it rotate out the robot hands for the gorilla!
I wanna get all the SS Maximals but I don’t know if I can afford the SS monke so do you think that the mainline monke fits well enough with the ss maximals?

I broke off the butt flap and tacked it on to the back, and I can still put it on the back of his legs for transforming

Ok genuine question, how much is walmart charging for these Voyagers? I keep hearing they're charging more, which is kinda crazy. Usually walmart is the cheaper place to get them, I guess not anymore.
Where would you suggest buying this figure if not Walmart? For me unfortunately where I live I think it's either buy at Walmart or buy online and then pay more because of shipping.

It's not mainline (that's Legacy) it's movieline. So it's a movieline budget.
You can always take measurements and make your own port🤷🏻♂️
