Thank you Peggy, when it comes to clay, I do put in a lot of effort to make sure it turns out the way I want it to, but I also accept it if it doesn't. I'm no expert, I just have experience over time, but I still love experimenting with it 😊
This looks great! The cracks look so good, almost loke done on purpose!! Now, we will all start to deliberately break our projects to go ,'gold mining'. Here in California we had a huge gold rush... You will now be the prospector behind the one in the UK!!😁😁😁🥰😍
Haha - I do try to repair what I've worked so hard for. I've had many projects that just go right in the bin! It's funny I do have gold paint, I should have done that too!
Well what is that saying at first you don’t succeed try again, and wowzers yep do that old Japanese trick and it makes it even more beautiful. And that is true for both trying again and making it more beautiful, fantastic tfs hugs from across the pond. ❤😊
Aww thanks Karen, yes I'm happy with it now. It looks more like it should have been to start with. Lots of sparkle as my usual way would be with polymer clay!
That is exactly what I feared would happen. Which is why I asked about the light bulb. Think the thicker ring will work a better. BTW pretty repair job. 😁
Awe thanks Robin, Haha, it's funny because my last one didn't need it! Ahh. We live and learn! I'm very much, try it, see if it breaks, if it does make another or do it better. But now, as I have a channel, I have to be truthful! Not everything works the first time! 😆 I'm happy with it now & it's hanging 🤣
@@GailJonesPolymerClay - Food for thought if you make another, maybe use a metal ring or even a home made one (wire hanger, cut and wrapped around a tin can to shape it). Then cover the metal with clay and bake to make an insulator, before covering it with the shade's clay. That would offer the extra support, especially if the clay is softening from the heat of the bulb.
@robinbrook5624 great idea! The bulb I've got is a low heat one, so that bit was ok, I think it was just the fact it wasn't strong enough! I'll try out the wire for another one in a few months time 😊
Thank you Carolyn! Good idea. I do have a low heat bulb & it's normally only on when I film (the old one was anyway) I'll keep a check on it for the heat 😊
Very imaginative. The extracts on the lampshade actually look good. Great job on being determined.

Gorgeous, I love the extra bling
@siobhankirk9320 Thank you Siobhan!
I’ve watched this twice now and love it every time. Salved so I can make one too. Thank you
Aww thanks Leona! I'd love to see it when it's finished😁
Nice repair work. I like how it sparkles!
Thank you Jenny. I'm just glad the work with glue fixed it in the end! It survived the night... 🤣

Yeah I look at it like that! It was too plain & I needed to add more! I'm confident it will stay hanging now 😆

Wabi sabi!
I had to Google that to know what it meant, haha! Yes, that's what I was going for in the repair! 😊
Now you can tell people that’s how you made it to begin with. Lol
Ahh, you know, I would probably tell them the story too, it's more entertaining... 🤣
