- Опубліковано 27 лис 2024
- I walk through a small town in central/eastern Germany's Federal State of Thuringia with Tien. She explains what it was like living here in the town of Greiz when she was younger and why her family chose to move here.
Tien takes us on a tour through the main parts of the town in the second half of the video and shows us what it feels like to be here during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Do iiittttt :)
Gera (visit the Orangerie) , Sangerhausen , Jena , Freyburg (Unstrut) (visit Neuenburg and Rotkäppchen Sektkellerei)
Naumburg (Saale) , Lübbenau (Spreewald)
You have a strong German accent and and yet you are such an eloquent English speaker are you a native German or did you move there as a baby . Very informative video btw. my family and I are hoping to move to Germany soon for a year.
@@shantelwest8968 She’s a German native but has years of international work experience, and an Aussie as a partner :)
I tried to count the number of stones in the pavements, but gave up after 1.5 seconds. Very clean city with quite impressive buildings.
Buying a stock is easy, but buying the right stock without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. Hence what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist? I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $260K for sometime now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategies... I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.............
The market is volatile at this time, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on..........................
I agree , I assumed I had a hang of the market at first, I gained $50k one year and I was super elated, not until I stumbled upon a portfolio-adviser whose been guiding me since the market's been sham after the pandemic, to my utmost surprise I netted a whooping $280K during this dip, that made it clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know>.................
that's impressive!, I could really use the expertise of this advisors , my portfolio has been down bad....who’s the person guiding you.............
I am guided by is Jenny Pamogas Canaya . I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and reached out to her. She has since provided entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can look her up online if you care for supervision...............
This recommendation literally came at the right time, I’m down by $7k in stocks this week alone.. its crazy! I just looked up Jenny online and researched her accreditation. She seem very proficient, I wrote her detailing my Fin-market goals and scheduled a call..........................
It reminds me just a little of Edinburgh. Not literally, but the castle and the beautiful aged appearance of the town. A lovely place. Thank you for the video.
Did not expect to see Greiz being shown in a vlog on UA-cam like this. Really cool because I went to school there and still live pretty close. Personally I don't like the town's appearance that much outside of the areas shown in the video, but it's nice to see people appreciating it for what it is.
Also, I've never seen Greiz this empty, especially the Puschkinplatz. Really interesting.
Anyway, great video!
What a small world! :) Yes, that’s super cool!
That’s made very professional and informative 👍
germany looks cool - thanks for sharing 👍😊
Thanks so much Dwayne :)

Wow this town used to be more populated ! ( 1800s...etc...)
But now, there's not many people ! They all went into big cities looking for " work"
This is a good way for people today , to leave these horrible crowded cities , and go here . Where it's nice , and open and not crowded ! But you have to have a plan and an income source. Great video.
Hey! I live in Berlin too but I enjoy the nature of Thuringia and have been there several times, although not to Greiz yet. Will have to check it out once it's safe to travel again.
Hey hey, let me know how you like it. There are some cool hiking trails there! :)
Thank god no shopping center. We have kaffeehauser...bitte nicht amerikanisieren....dann nach USA ziehen....re: shoppi g center...amerikansche klein stadte sind. Hasslich.......
Both of you are beautiful people :-) you make a great couple thank you for the video
Thank you so much David! :)
She explained nicely. Wish to visit this small town post covid
Tien says thanks! Definitely visit post-covid. Right now, there’s really nothing to do there.
Your video is perfect....we live in a Bavarian village of 6000... and this video shows how quiet and calm little towns in Germany are... my Americans really freak out when we go out on Sundays
Thank you Craig! I’m guessing it’s quite beautiful in Bavarian villages though :)
it's crazy, where I live in australia, 6000 is a decent sized town. Obviously we wouldn't consider it large, but many smaller towns number only in the hundreds, and they are very far apart. This is western australia, much lower population density than the east.
Thank You guys! Much appreciaed!
Thank youuuuuuu
@@ExpatCaptures
She hasn't even run into one person....it's a very quiet town.
Not crowded at all.
In fact , there's NO ONE .
pretty safe , in case of a " worldwide zombie apocalypse , wouldnt you say ?
Hehe
Although the architecture is different it reminds me of small towns in the US. Very quiet in the middle of the day
Interesting bit I picked up, that people go shopping in Gera. I'd have thought Zwickau was nearer and the bigger city. Is that a saxony/thuringia thing?
Possibly haha
Yes it is
Feels good to watch ur videos.. Especially during lock down.. Greetings from India. 🙏
Greetings from Germany, thank you for the kind comment sir!
Thank you very much for sharing this video for us.
We're grateful that you watched it! 🙏
@@ExpatCaptures hey can I come visit you ? For real. How many days can I stay ? I can travel by car lol and is there a train station. Text me ! Michael bei 1 323 792 9616
If you think that is a small town, you should visit towns in Australia. We have some towns where there is absolutely nothing but a single pub and you have to drive 20 km+ for the nearest grocery store.
Hey Jack! Yes I know about them, I'm from Australia too! A different vibe though :) are you from Australia too? If so, good to hear from a fellow countryman :)
Richtig....she does not know what she has......let her go to skunkville Idaho.....so much nicer....its American....wow
I live in Koblenz. It's a "little big city" in the South-West of germany. Most of the small cities in germany are totally underrated.
My friend also lives in Koblenz. Seems like a cool place!
I subscribed today. Your videos are great. Looking forward to see other cities
Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos and giving me a chance! :)

Just a text is easy to send. Bis dan ! Michael
pretty cool city and talk, I like the point of view Tien has, especially that she spent her childhood there, so it's cool to see that very local perspective! great video man keep it up and keep posting :) a curious technical question, what kind of mic did you use? it sounds like it's a wireless neck-mic, but does that mean you also have one? so many questions haha let me know if you can answer :D cheers
Hey Radi. Thanks so much for the nice comment :) yeh she's got a wireless mic and I have average one attached to the camera ;)
20,000? I live in a lovely village in Niederbayern, population 300. Now this is fantastic, quiet .......
Is it beautiful? :)
@@ExpatCaptures It's quiet and I have an apartment looking out over farmer's fields with The Alps in a distant view when clear. Not a shop in the village but this is the kind of life I like, not for everyone but perfect for me. The Village is Günzkofen just outside Landshut.
Sounds peaceful and honestly something I could do with as well, given I’m in overly hectic Berlin right now.

Can you text me there ? Tell me about your place , can I visit and check it out your town. ? Michael. Thank you

There's much better places than berlin. Mid size towns or semi areas. Plenty jobs and not inside,,a big city.
I like the architecture so much. :3 - It's a pity, that these small towns are often not very attractive for younger generations. :/ And the "broken" Öffis (local public transport) in Thuringia really are a bummer sometimes. ^^' - Have a good one. (:
Absolutely agreed! Yes, stay healthy for now!
@@ExpatCaptures Thanks, you of course too! (:
It's great pity that you don't see much of the local daily life, because of the pandemic. Stay safe and greetings
I know, it was such a shame. Happy New Year and stay in good health!
Not because of the pandemic. It is because of the politicians.
Danke sehr :)
Thank you, very nice tour.
Thank you Steve.
Hi... beautiful small town....
Small and unknown :)
Wasn' t this town up to 1918 the capital of one of the two prinzipalities Reuß/Reuss?
@@brittakriep2938 woah thanks Britta, we didn't even know that! Super interesting. ❤️
@@ExpatCaptures: When Germany was a monarchy, sometimes a state was split between two branches. To know, which branch it is, the name of the capital was added.
@@brittakriep2938 Oh I know the prince of Reuss personaly, the one that bought the Reuß-palace in Ebersdorf.
pretty town this is
Yeh it's crazy hey? :)
Eerily quiet there
I like your Chanel
So you don't like their Gucci? *Flies away*
I will study in Schmalkaden, Thuringen; do you know if it is difficult to get a job in one of those cities? To study and work at the same time
A job as a waiter or in a shop should be not that difficult to find but you'll have to speak german quite decentlyfor that.
Hey Noel! Tien says that with some knowledge of the German language, it is pretty feasible. If you aren't confident in your German yet, it could also be possible to get a job as a Werkstudent with your university. Then, you can also get related experience for the future :)
@@daimhaus thanks for the help, my German level is B1, is that enough?
@@ExpatCaptures thanks a lot I will share my experience when I get there
shes beautiful
Beautiful German town 🙂
Yes it is sir!
6.18. You didn't mention that that was when you were a child !
Hi, can you share about the waste management ini german cities...cant see any garbage in this vid...
Hi Amartha, thanks for your recommendation. I’m afraid I’m not that knowledgeable in this area but good to see there’s interest here. I will try in the future maybe, yes!
Berlin has alot of waste ;) just depends on the cities, the smaller towns care more about being clean, but also some bigger ones like Dresden i felt well with.
When people going?
👍
Are those blocks peoples apartments??
Not sure what blocks you're talking about but yeh most likely!
@@ExpatCaptures I mean those many houses around or buildings
so ziemlich stadt. Ich werde dort nicht uberleben. I lived in Germany as an exchange student but we have more people in the town where I lived. The town is called Freiburg. It's located in the Southwest of Germany close to the border of Basel Switzerland.
I know Freiburg. I've heard it's a great place!
@@ExpatCaptures, it's a beautiful city. It's a University town where Freiburg University is located. The town is also a drive's away to Basel, Switzerland if you want to do some skiing during winter. The town is also close to Strassburg, France.
Btw, I'm asian american from California ( San Francisco).
Vietnam ?
20000 inhabitants are inside😆
Pretty much.
She's korean ? Chinese or japanese ?
Try Vietnamese, the DDR invited Vietnamese to work in their factories.
;)
How to live in a small town in Germany? Have you ever lived in a small town in America. Wait I always lived in the city. 🙄 I think it would be interesting for me.
We live in the city too, but it's nice to see how people live in the smaller areas in Germany ;)
@@ExpatCaptures the city’s are beautiful there too 😍 maybe one day I’ll try a small town when I live there.

What is Thrungia known for?
Me:- German election flashbacks ! AfD .
Thuringia has some bigger issues with racism
I wasn't actually expecting my profit from Austin today.too good to be true but I just earn from Austin platform..
