Another great video, Bryan! One tip that I have for those who own a bench vise. I put a microfiber towel around the spark plug and clamp it in place in the bench vise. Then with the plug held in place, it’s easy to hold the feeler gauge in one hand and adjust the gap with the other. It’s quick and easy to gap six plugs with the help of a bench vise.
If you're like me and looking for every last once of power and are not big turbo. Say bm3 stage 1 or 2 with or with ethanol. Go the biggest gap you can get away with. I found .25 is perfect. Won't misfire yet big enough to provide a good burn. You always want the biggest gap you can safely run. A lot of people think since smaller gap is used in high hp cars that small is better. They're running the biggest gap they can without misfires. It's all about cylinder pressure. The higher the pressure the harder it is for the plug to fire properly and closing the gap helps it reduces distance the spark has to jump.
How much of a difference would a .23 make vs .22? What influences the gap when working with a tuner? I.e., why would they increase or decrease? Thanks for the great video!
The stock spark plug and the stock gap is perfectly designed by BMW factory engines for your engine. But a highly tuned car is forcing a lot more air and fuel into each cylinder. Now there is a lot more in the way preventing the spark from jumping the gap as intended. Reducing that gap can get things back in synch. A custom tuner may look at your logs and suggest that you open or close your plug gap to fine tune your engine.
Spark plug gap for a tuned car is usually specified by the tune that you purchase such as BootMod3, or by the custom tuner who you use. The spark plug torque specification might be found in the owner’s manual in the glove box, or an aftermarket manual such as the Bentley Manual, or on some aftermarket websites or BMW forums.
Dude u r building tools n shit too? Damn im proud of you for going into this channel full on. You seem like a real solid dude who deserves great success. Great vid. My 16 340 stg1 at 55k miles rips still and im wondering if im wasting my time on plugs. Thoughts?
you mentioned at the end that there nothing else to do ..... no strut brace to add or anything.... that being said.... will there be a strut brace placed some time soon? I remember you said that when you put the strut brace on the f30 it got better......
If you enter your car’s information into a retailer’s website, it is typically only going to show you maintenance parts that are stock. For something like these spark plugs, which are an upgrade based on your tune, you would have to search based on the manufacturer and part number of the part.

If that is the gap size for tuned applications what is the gap size for untuned B58’s?
Helpful!! J am not brave enough to do this...but maybe now I can
Just did this on my n55 stage 2 bm3 fbo, much happier! Take your time and watch these videos until you get comfortable
Nice 👍 my M4 has more stuff on top to get to the plugs.

You are so right ✅ I have this in my N54
Great content as usual! I wish your shop was in my area :) Where do you take the gapping and the torque tightening from?

Aren’t oem plugs iridium as well ?
Can you do brakes and rotors change

How about if you have a g30 530i b48 engine stage 1 tune with bootmod3? How can i gap my new spark plugs? Same as this video?

another great video!!
Kies, So got the same car 2017 340i M sport with no tune. Would these be fine or you recomend another? Ty
Is this car still running stock down pipe I don’t think I saw that video
This will help me if I riding 340xi st2+ e30?
Is NGK iridium the best spark plugs for a tuned b58?
Yes
When trying to order those spark plugs it says it doesn't fit the 2020 m340ix

I thought for g20 it’s ngk 95248? Gen 1 is 94201?
Im curious too because I had a check engine light before and changed over to 94201 and light came back on after a week
Gen 1 is 94201. For the Gen 2 it is 96206. The 95248 is the exact same as the 94201 - just updated with a new part number.
This is so much easier than a S55!
Can I use these plugs even if my m340 isn't tuned or have a bigger turbo????
Yes but not a .022 gap , on stock motor .030 to .032 is perfect, when you tune it you need a smaller gap of .022.
.022 is the gap just in case anyone wants to know quick and fast
Do u have to disconnect battery?
Am i only the who came to knew today u can gap the spark plug?
What?
Yes
This is exactly the same for the m4 right?
so much easier than the 440i
