Ok here's the craziest question in the world, is there room in the f8 for a standard flock double air bed. My partner has some very clear stipulations on what she finds comfortable to camp with so I've always hiked with heavier tunnel tents but fancy making the transition to a tipi. Plus at that weight I could take it solo for when I want a palace to sleep in haha
I gather Luxe are working on the Jacuzzi as an optional accessory for 2018 :) What size mattresses? King, Queen, Serf? - Measurements please and I'll have to dig one out to check lol!
love my F6 and glad i went for it over the V4 given my height. I wish Luxe would sell a 1 man inner the same length as the 2 man and it would be perfect.
The double inner which comes with the F6A no, as the height of the pole is lower than the F8 of course. But the F8 does have a half nest available which gives you good sleeping area for 2 and half the tent for storage. Don't forget the thing with these Hexpeaks, is that the sleeping nest (Solo or half nests) can drop down during the day so you have the entire floor to use if you so wish.
@@KW35- I'm 6'2" and the nest which comes with the F6A is plenty long enough for me with a dog at my feet. The double inner for the F8 is even longer. You would have acres of head room to lie down.
TheOutdoorsStation Thanks! Great video btw :) How would you say does this compare to the Nigor WickiUp4, any experience? I’m on the edge between those two with no chance today trying out. Weight speaks for the Nigor, double entrance and tougher materials for the Luxe. It’s for a family 2+3 small kids + 20kg dog 💪
@@tonzlero That is difficult to visualise. I have used both as a couple with a Spaniel and they gave us all lots of space. 3 small children can take up a lot of space depending on how 'good' they are. I think the Nigor might be better with the rectangular footprint, however the down side is it doesn't shed the wind as well as the Octapeak. In the video you see a family getting in a out of the Octapeak. Does that help?
Hi.... You gave the weight of F8.... But not the F6... ? I've just brought the Hex Peak 4 but it may be too small ... How do you compare these to the megahorn 3 in weight ?
Weight of F6A Hex Peak : 1.83kg Weight of F8 Octapeak: 2.63kg Weight Mega Horn: 3.5-4kg depending on inner type. See website. Sorry with so much information to fit in things sometimes get missed :)
Hello Bob, great video, just wish Luxe Gear would step up to the plate and send me the inner tent that was free when placing my order, Im did not see the free inner tent until I placed my order, no help from Luxe after the purchase
@@TheOutdoorsStation I ordered my 3 person tipi tent with snow skits and stove hole from Luxe directly, no help from luxe even when the tent was still not in my hands,
just me FYI Luxe in the US is only a retailer NOT the manufacturer. He confuses many people by not being clear on that fact. So make sure you focus your comments in the right direction. Luxe the brand are not in control of his business.
@@justme-uw1yq Well I guess you are contacting Luxe-Hiking-Gear direct? If they are the US retailer who sold you the product then that is where you need to apply pressure. If you are outside the US then I'm not sure what you can do TBH. I have heard from various customers in the UK who have also come to us for help, as they have experienced the same lack of customer support from them. If you are in the UK drop me an email and lets see if we can help.
ok cheers will do in the future, are you going to be at events like the bushcraft show in derbyshire with tents and kit ? or do you do shows in any other venues ?
great vid bob, looking at the f8 4 the future. hope you & yrs are keeping well
David Lintern Many thanks. Good to have you drop by 😆 Keep in touch.

- Yo Hullspawn, get one with a stove jack and stove and make winter camping fun. You can make it just like home, hotter than Hull.

how hard was it to seam seal?
Nice presentation. Is it possible to put the G6A inner in the F8?

TheOutdoorsStation thanks for your answer. Is the double nest for the F8 as large as the F6A one? I am 6.3 tall.

Hi, is the fly zip two way? Can’t see any options for ventilation.
tonzlero Yes it is a 2 way zip in the door. Plus you have a mesh vent at the top above the door zip.
