[World Record] Need for Speed: Underground 2 Career 100% Speedrun in

New strats used to save free roaming on Stage 4 and 5. Pretty unlucky with traffic, next time can push for sub 9:15 probably.
I have taken 2 breaks as per the new rules allowing it, one at 6:24:10 LL for 4 minutes and 26 seconds and a second one at 8:01:11 LL for 4 minutes and 33 seconds.

Funny how the stock transmission brings the full potential of the Corolla. The closest cars to the Corolla in terms of handling (on my experience) were the Miata and the RX-7, but both had a horrible 1st gear. In terms of FWD I think the best one was the Celica.

On some tracks 6 speed Corolla is better but for the most part we have more straights in the run which on 5 gear Corolla has higher top speed. The second best car after the Corolla is the Corsa, the best drag cars are 240SX and RX-7. AWD cars are the worst ones in the game.

@@overpad1 Yes, but these "top speed peak" tracks are really low compared to the ones with a lot of curves and tricky corners. I never had the chance to try "Junkman" Corsa (Engine+Ecu+Weight Reduction Kit) but it looks really grippy and with good accel. And yes, the 240sx is the best drag car by far because of its ridicolous turbo power and strong "perfect" accel. Sad that the AWD cars on NFSU2 are REALLY bad.

I loved this game as a kid but as a driving game it kinda sucks. The fastest line is to just crash into the walls, the automatic shifts take forever, each race mode has completely different physics for some reason, rubberbanding AI and the engine audio sucks.

The amazing customization, cool features like the magazines and the "newly" open world nature really saved the game. If you would purely rate it by driving alone, it wouldn't rank highly even by arcade racer standards. There's not very many tracks, the races are very repetitive and you have to do a boring amount of them to progress.

I think speedruns ought to be made on max difficultt since no one really plays on easy 😅

@@gdgd5194 You have different difficulty categories and when you speedrun certain stuff being on easy is actually more in the way since AI is more sluggish and can slow you down in the beginning of races.

@@overpad1 the amount traffic seems to be the same though. been attempting to do a 100% normal difficulty 300 reputation all stages run and been stuck at one of the stage 4 circles races (as well as dreaded 5 lap URLs) for a couple days now at this point, you reckon it's even doable without abusing glitches?

@@dilligafzilla Yes, the traffic is the same but I meant the AI racers being in the way + you have to try harder on drifts which loses more time.

@@overpad1 it's the race at 8:40:03. finished in 4:48.10 with AI being +14.6s behind and still got 200 rep. fully tuned stage 4 corolla, it's just bullshit at this point
