(sorry for the long comment) If you would like prophecy to be a bit painful then i would say witherhoard only as it came out the same season as prophecy and more damge to the taken. (If i remember correctly) Also the nine is one of the main reason why gambit can exist to a degree as the nine gifted drifter a cage which could hold taken enemies he created and use the motes to bait the primevals which gives a powerful which is used to bait other primevals and also help craft witherhoard. So i find it somewhat poetic to use a gift from the nine to conquer a dungeon of the nine

If you want to know, the well nerf was a nerf to its survivability. Basically you're just easier to kill while in a well. It's still good as a panic-pop tho. Edit: Plus, it's still got its increased damage output, which it was nerfed around.

I would say use a full set of gear from prophecy as well as only the dungeon’s weapons in every slot they can be the old versions or the newer ones.
Ruinous Effigy was connected to Prophecy back when it came out.
