IN HEARTS WAKE'S STATEMENT
In Hearts Wake has some news. Our bass player & clean vocalist Kyle Erich is leaving the band to focus on his family and other parts of his life. He will be touring with us one last time in September, and today we have released a new track and video called "Farewell" as part of his send off.
We adore Kyle and appreciate every contribution he’s made to our band and our lives. 12 years of laughs, gigs and singalongs. He's an amazing person and we will miss having him around as In Hearts Wake continues to forge ahead.
While we were saddened and heart broken by the news at first, we all knew that what was right for Kyle was right for us. We all support his decision and can't wait to celebrate him and bring closure to his journey with the band.
We will have more In Hearts Wake news in a couple of weeks, but for now lets celebrate our man Kyle Erich and all the amazing moments we've had together

KYLE ERICH FULL STATEMENT:
It's hard to put into words how impactful and fulfilling my journey with In Hearts Wake has been. I honestly feel so lucky to have been a part of In Hearts Wake and everything it has become over the years. The places we’ve been, the bands/people who have supported us and all the incredible moments that I’ll never forget. To be honest, I never really thought that music could bring so much joy to my life and I owe so much to my brothers in the band for seeing something in me that I didn’t even know I had.
The life of a touring musician is incredible and honestly I wouldn't change a thing about my last twelve years with In Hearts Wake. That being said, this life does require a lot of sacrifice and now as a father those choices are more complicated and much harder to make. Being in the industry for as long as I have, I know you need to give 100% to make it work and I’m at a point now where that’s not something I’m able to give. In my eyes that would be a disservice to the band and to all our fans who have supported us over the years.
Farewell will be my last song with the band and it was a very difficult song to write. Despite this being the right decision for me it’s been so hard to let go of something that’s been such a massive part of my life. The Australian tour this September will be my last tour as part of the band and although bitter sweet, its going to be a farewell tour to remember.
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank anyone who has come to a show, said hello to me in the street or played with us on stage. You have truly changed my life forever. Jake, Ben, Eaven, and Conor I love you guys and I can't wait to see where In Hearts Wake goes from here.

This song couldn't have had any better timing, it came out on the day before my mother's wake. Cancer took her and she's the one who introduced me to rock music, causing me to find metal. You can bet you will see me at the Perth show right up front. I am so happy I have gotten to see you guys countless times.

I remember playing that front and back in 9th grade. I'm now 27, moved out 8 years ago, got my own car, own apartment, had a longtime girlfriend who later cheated on me, moved out again, got a new job and I'm still here... still a fan. Shits crazy how time flies and how seemingly much can happen inbetween those years. I still hold Divination close to my heart.

This song has good timing for me. One of my best friends just died, he was found by himself in his house. Struggled with drugs. I showed him In Hearts Wake and he showed Structures. We laughed, lifted and fucking head banged. Miss you Brian.

Had the pleasure of talking with Kyle amongst the crowd at an Auckland show here in NZ back in 2014 or 2015 for their Earthwalker tour and I was just blown away at how nice he was and how the band integrated themselves in the crowd and just had yarns with fans. It felt so organic and I really cherished that particular gig. Small venue, small crowd but we had people in onesies, everyone got to know everyone throughout the gig, IHW got us doing a 'crawl of death' which was hilariously fun and on their last song (I want to say it was Survival) we were all up on stage with the band moshing and having the time of our lives. By far one of the best shows I've ever been to.
Thank you Kyle for bringing us some of the most catchy clean choruses I've heard in metalcore and I personally will really miss your presence in the band. You're a legend dude

This perfect farewell
This song could not have come in a better time. This talks to me a lot with all the things that I’m dealing with right now. The divorce the lawyers engaged, the impact the situation have have on my two sons. All the sadness I have of not being able to be there for them as much as I would like. This song makes me cry like for the last 12 times I’m watching this video. It makes me think that I have to be strong for them and keep fighting even if I’m tired of all the drama and fight that has been happening since the divorce. Thank you

And i was hooked . Between you guys , northlane and volumes . I dont have any other bands that i still listen to till this day . 27 years old and now having a little girl . And a family . I met the whole band in wodonga after the release of their debut album back in 2013. I met Kyle briefly and he was such a kind soft spoken dude.
I understand some of the pain balancing music and family, especially since i was asked to start a band not long after my son was born. We haven’t toured but i can definitely see the sacrifice and in the financial side and quality time.
