That Police Officer is very wise. Manneh doesn’t need to have soldiers following him. The Police are capable of doing that job. Let those soldiers go back to their barracks. Manneh should only be responsible for the main roads and the local authorities to take care of the b roads.

I have watched with disbelief the sad unfolding of events in Brikama, but so far no one is being impartial. This whole Operation Clean the Roads is crucial yet far from perfect. Mistakes are being committed by all sides concerned, from government that though wishes to straighten decades of neglect and decline, yet executes matters in a very incomplete if not incompetent way. Government has been caught up with a tight timeline to put redress to a decades old problem just before the IOC Summit hence having done things too late and with too little time to prepare. First let me focus on government: Government rushed way too fast, not giving sufficient notice to offenders, be they landlords, tenants, vendors and the public. Government should have at least started to notify everyone using organs like the TV' and Radio Stations, Papers, Social Media, Leaflets, Billboards and direct mail to offenders wherever they may be. Furthermore, government like always since Jammeh's days doesn't do anything called Sensitization Campaigns, again using all the organs I mentioned above. Sensitization Campaigns are crucial for any country to inform the public about any given situation affecting the nation. For example I can now cite government's numbness in NOT informing the public about how to use the new highways which for all I know have long since become death-traps for road users all due to a combination of lack of information, incompetence and sheer recklessness. To come back to the road clearance Ops, yes indeed, this should have been done ages ago, but people are people and they do what all uninformed people do, break the law knowingly or unknowingly, so back to square one again. In regards to Brikama, at least one last ditched attempt should have been done, to send the Team to notify verbally or in writing everyone concerned in Brikama about the discrepancies and that the Team would be returning in 48 hours or more to verify that everyone has complied failure to which the State will carry out the dismantling. Then we come to the part that concerns the people and yes, the people too have a share of the blame, human beings are copycats by nature, they see one person breaking the law, they see that the state has done nothing, then they assume that they too can do the same. But the saddest part is that in Gambia there are many who simply don't have the nation at heart nor do they care for the environment or they're simply unaware, they just toss out anything and anywhere hence the results are scary, Gambia now looks like one giant and chaotic trash site, anarchy seems to rule this nation nowadays. OK, now that the commotion has subsided, hopefully everyone will take stock and start doing what they should have done before it all went berserk, in brief, everyone has a responsibility, the state has its share, the people have their share, at the end of the day Gambia is like every other nation, it's a boat, a ship, a vessel, call it what you wish, but since everyone inside Gambian jurisdiction lives in it, then everyone has a vested interest at making of Gambia a better place to live and prosper. Salam.

What I understand in this little Gambia people are lake of jobs
And make sure I have to survive were my daily presence me😅😅😅😅😅😅😅nothing can change this country trust me😂😂😂😂
And my second question is people don’t have to blame manneh we have to blame our government because the work should be professional not in to arrogance way Gambia is a very little country look all this local peoples are paying taxes were did the moneys goes each taxes payers moneys should developed there own environment look I live here in Switzerland 🇨🇭 but every community taxes moneys what they use to build there owns environment and even helps them selfs to attack others business for the neaboring villages but we Gambians should be honest to our self rather u are a police oh a army officer commander oh what ever u don’t work for the president u work for Gambians but look we should know this first and stop corruption then clean your heart before you tell some one your heart is not clean we need more knowledge to build our own economy and no one will come from Europe to build our country that’s is sad we should build our own country for our self
