I tried silicone, silicone 2+, double sided tape, construction adhesive, gorilla tape, but nothing worked better than that window weld (butyl tape).

Great video could u do this with a heat gun
Absolutely can use a heat gun. But be careful you can melt the lens if held to close or too long in one spot.
Amazing job bro! I still get so nervous heating the lens. And I gotta finish my taillights, I used too much of the ribbon tape
Thanks man. I dont think i used enough of that tape and the clear lens do not have that lip to hold them in place. I think that was the hardest part keeping them sealed and still.
@@Sucat so did you have to remove the lens and add more? With my lights, I added too much, plus side is its sealed and no moisture gets in
@@JDMGoSpeedRacer not really no. I let the lights sit in the sun then took a small flat head and kinda shoved some of the tape where i thought it needed it and then let it sit in the sun some more. Seems to be goos now but they havent left the garage yet so i wont know till then lol
How long did you leave it in there for ?
I wanna say about 10 mins. I would check every 5. The oem lens still broke coming off. That's telling me it was not long enough but every oven is different.
what kind of paint did you use in the taillight housing?
Silver duplicolor automotive paint from advance auto.

What light bulbs you used after?
Honestly I haven't even used them yet. The car is still in pieces but I was going to find LED bulbs in red and white to replace the regular bulbs.
Any update on the tail light have the un glue
Havent driven the car obviously but was just looking at them the other day and seem to be holding up.

They are holding up to my knowledge. A buddy of mine has/had them on his car for a show or two. My car is still in pieces in the garage.
@@Sucat Thanks! I just did these yesterday and your steps were spot on! I ended up doubling up on the ribbon sealer for better coverage.
