Wow never thought you would ever try Caribbean food, especially from Trinidad 🇹🇹.
It looks like the type of roti you ate was dhalpuri roti.
It is ground up split peas (the yellow part of the roti).
My grandmother and aunties would make this for me all the time when I was a kid.

I feel like being kind and having good manners does not equal fake. I’m not going to be rude to a stranger. I find it comforting when someone can give a non threatening smile when passing. It’s one of the few things I do actually like about the U.S. is the warmth you can find. The coldness and detached is odd but I always understand culturally we are different and there’s nothing wrong with that. I wish people from around the world would stop viewing USA through its media. It’s not all doom and gloom. This country is massive. I can’t wait to see your trip through the U.S.

Guyana, its next to Surinam, where I was born. It resembles the Hindustan Roti. My favorite. With yellow dahl or with smashed potatoes as the filling. Here in the Netherlands they charge with chicken 12,50 euros a portion/meal but you get very long long long string beans cut into pieces and another veggie. You can choose any meat you prefer. Sauce is key to mop up 🥰😘. One boiled egg you need to pay extra. The shaved ice with sirop in a small cup we pay 3 euros. Same is with or without cold cows milk.
Our national pop soda drink is Fernandes, beer is Parbo beer.

La Mexicana (breakfast and lunch), family Mexican fare, 3rd and Coal. Mary & Tito’s, 2711 4th St., NEW Mexican (there is a difference!) to die for.
Sights? Many! If you are driving, do the loop from ABQ, Bernalillo, Jemez Springs (hot springs!), Valles Caldera (a mini Serengeti at 10,000ft), Los Alamos, Santa Fe. My very favorite drive in NM, but there are many other beautiful ones. Enjoy!
