Thank you James. She is a marvelous artist.
Last summer she gave a very insightful talk about her work, practise and her thinking in front of her show at David Zwirner, London. She's extremely focused, curious, informative and humorous without a shred of self aggrandment. The real deal, and working hard for an artist in her mid 80's.

    Thank you James Kalm,
Analytical abstract art: Abstract art for the Analytical. (The Analytical and the Narcissistic often have made huge sums of money because that is what they often do.) The geometric forms, color and subject matter while still being abstract have enough symmetry to them as to be far enough out from analytical but not far enough to confuse or potentially disturb the focused, often over worked and divested of emotion mind of the analytical. I feel the secret to this type of art is the quality with Bridget Riley like many great and wonderful artists progresses this abstract symmetry at a steady but ever growing amount of abstract. When the time comes with her life's work eventually done the art lovers of this world will be able to go back along her journey of art and pick out the layer or time period they feel most comfortable. I like to say it is not how far out you go it is the ability to come back that counts. It is like Bridget is taking us for a walk, holding our hand and taking us on a slow, educational, emotional beauty of a journey that only an artist can take us.

Riley has a superb color sense! I love the black and white paintings too, wonderfully refined.
Thanks for the show James. These videos are priceless for a young artist such as myself. I have to tell you that your videos have been and remain an intrinsic part of my development as a blooming painter. You've given me access to many exhibitions and artists which has inspired me and encouraged me to pursue my passion for art. I've watched your videos since 2012 over several different UA-cam accounts. I'm more than grateful for what you do. Keep thriving and more power to you.

+Ivan Zavala I'm glad you've found the Kalm Report videos useful. Since the beginning of this project, it's been my intention to give viewers a chance to, in a small way, to experience the exhibitions I find inspirational or instructive. Thanks for your response, and stay tuned JK...

I really like it. The ones I least like are the stripes as I love there to be some interesting shapes and lines to follow. Amazing overall though.

Look for Dan Higgs banging away on his banjo some time. He's the singer of lungfish and he's a world famous painter too.
