Pandemic games are really the only medical games I've played, I have Holding On but haven't played it yet. but now I really really want this one, ive been really interested inthese sand timer games and your game play tells me I need them in my life lol. Thanks I've missed the full game plays a lot, and yes I would definitely watch a rematch of this one!!
Naveen used his hands to load blood into the syringe during surgery in round one. I seent it. 😮 Really though, great job! Played this last night and had a ton of fun. (Not on hard difficulty) Listened to you on the BGB Podcast this week, subscribing!
What a FUN playthrough! I think I would have preferred Rush MD, but the theme in Kitchen Rush is much more relatable for the younger kids thus we have Kitchen Rush in our collection. It's great to showcase teamwork, communication, but also that MISTAKES HAPPEN to the best of us and we can still recover (most times) from these errors. Love this real-time cooperative game. It is truly CHAOTIC fun!
Oh wow, the setup of the game is huge. 😅 Thanks for the great video, as usual! Which game would you prefer: This one or Kitchen Rush? Question: Will you be at Spiel this year? I'd love meeting other content creators, especially you. 😁
OMG as soon as I watch your video I bought the copy in amazon...lol thank youuu for the video! Im so pumped to play this! and also looking forward to their expansions too!
It's sitting on my shelf of shame, but this play through makes me hope it hits the table soon! Have you tried escape: the cursed temple? I think that one is pretty descent if you can find a copy. Bring friends for that one.
I have this game, my friends didn’t enjoyed. they said it was too much stressful for them, the setup is looong…overall it was a fun experience, but its not something I will be playing over and over again.
Yeah, that long setup can definitely be a barrier unfortunately, even for us. Do they not enjoy other real-time cooperative games as well or just this one in particular?
How strange, as a pharmacist I have never seen a human organ in my pharmacy. Probably for the best, I know nothing about keeping human organs viable for transplant. But I can tell you all about your post-transplant rejection medications!
Watched this based on the latest Let's talk Board Games! I think your comments on being able to get up and move around the table there make a lot of sense given this playthrough. I think Naveen lost his train of thought when Monique was reaching under his arm to work on the blood culture! Great playthrough
Yeesh! This is absolute chaos 🤣 You guys did so good & I could barely keep up! I would love to see another play through with an expansion on hard difficulty.
Just received my all in pledge from the ICU kickstarter. I was thrilled to see y’all had done a video on the base game. Love your play throughs! Though it does seem a little stressful, looks like a blast! And the more thematic the better. Can’t wait to play! Thanks again for all y’all do!
Is that how medical front liners/ workers rush on all the patients in the ward sucks I salute them! This is just a game but damn the pressure is soooooo high!!! Damn I love the way you guys played this wow!!! You lost but shucks it's a great hardcore game!
My gf loves rt games but too much stress imo 😅 5 min dungeon and Kopi King are her favs. This play through made me want to get the game though. Keep up the good work. Wall of shame: 21:47 36:50 37:15
I work in a hospital pharmacy so I know all too well how important it is to stock the pharmacy. You have to anticipate and prepare for the worst. and you have to know your limits in regards to keeping up with the insane demands of the hospital. Just remember, only do what you are capable of doing to maintain accuracy and to meet deadlines.
LOL Yeah we didn't think it all the way through apparently. We are okay! Just hit a pretty significant busy spell with both life stuff and work, but we're looking forward to truly getting back into the swing of things. Hope you're doing well!
@@BeforeYouPlay So happy to hear its just life keeping you busy. Happens to all of us...at least it happens to me. Last week was insanely busy for me as we held Geekway to the West and had 1300+ board gamers for 3 1/2 days. It went really well, but it WORE me out. (In a non-covid year its nearly 3000).
The best thing to do is to stock the mess out of the pharmacy in the first round so you can work on inpatients in the next round. #2 never admit more than two inpatients within one round.
Yes, Monique had played Kitchen Rush before this one and found it to be way too difficult. It felt pretty almost unreasonably difficult, though gameplay is still enjoyable. She enjoys Rush MD much better though because of the theme as well as the overall activities you do in the game.
A lot of people say (including Monique) that Kitchen Rush is more difficult, but I don't think so! I think Kitchen Rush is much more intuitive and simpler. All timers can do everything and you can plan out your roles (e.g. dishwasher, shopper, host) and mostly stick to them. I think the most complex element is the money management (shopper)... you are on a budget, you need to purchase only the ingredients you need, ingredients and spices cost different amounts and you have restrictions on how you purchase and you have to keep the multiple pantries stocked properly. One adult could manage it. After that, it is the real-time, accuracy aspect which is managed on an individual player board. In comparison, Rush MD is more complex in my opinion. You have the mini games (narrowing your focus), balancing timers and tweezers (which adds a dexterity component), the specific doctor/nurse roles (more timer limitations), the treatments blocking the requirements ON the cards (obfuscating information), and the shared hospital treatment areas (shared player boards aka crisscrossing of arms)! Both are equally CHAOTIC FUN, but Rush MD is definitely more complex in my opinion! Full disclosure, we own Kitchen Rush and are a house of retired restaurant owners/chefs so you can take that into consideration. 😅
@@BeforeYouPlay we have the revised edition of kitchen rush and there you play a sort of kampaign where they introduce a new mechanic in every episode. So you learn step by step and this works very well. My brothers family play it with two kids of 10 and 12 and they love it
@@BeforeYouPlay yeah, can't imagine this with more than 2 players ... two many hands going all over the place and mass confusion ... oh, wait, that's the main premise behind games of this type isn't it?
yeah the same with Kitchen Rush. You basically delegate roles and do your job. Sometimes you'll have to wait for other players to fetch more supplies but that's it.
What are some of your favorite medical themed games?
Theme Hospital!
Pandemic Iberia with all diseases! I am looking forward to Critical Care: The Game on kickstarter right now.
Pandemic games are really the only medical games I've played, I have Holding On but haven't played it yet.

Healthy Heart Hospital!
not sure i have a favorite medical game. Its for sure not this one. It was too frenetic. i had to quit watching. i want to play games to relax..

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! We're definitely going to have to try the new expansion as well. Hope it doesn't make it TOO much harder lol.

Oooh! We've seen that one played a lot at conventions but haven't tried it yet. It looks neat!
I have this game, my friends didn’t enjoyed. they said it was too much stressful for them, the setup is looong…overall it was a fun experience, but its not something I will be playing over and over again.
A long setup is probably the main reason I don’t buy a game I like.

@@BeforeYouPlay it was their first and only!
21:50 he didn’t use tweezers for the blood, it’s contaminated now, they about to get sued
We usually play with four. One of us is ALWAYS just paying pharmacist. It keeps things running smoothly.
wow, it's actually playable with 4 people? I would think it would just be mass confusion.
As long as the discussion phase is well organized it goes great. We that play it are all military and nurses, so we're very concise.

When you said "organs", I heard "board games". Guess you know what I've been thinking about all day haha!
Wait - yall work in Healthcare and do so many good board game videos?? How do yall have the time for all that?? 😆
Been missing your play throughs. Hope all is going well.
Real time as the "ease back into it game"? what were you thinking? hah

17:27 watch 1, excellent recommendation
It has a fresh feeling and fun theme, however i didn't feel the interactions between players were as fun as I expected. 6.5/10 for me
That's fair! Interaction between players can be sort of tough in this one, probably even more difficult than other real-time coops.

OMG the stress!
love your videos, but i dont like dexterity games.
