Yeah, I'm kinda pissed that my Tesla doesn't have this. I mean, you can get a $9,000 BYD with V2L, but not a $50k Tesla. They can base the warranty on charge cycles, I don't care....this is too important to ignore.
One thing the Cybertuck would benefit from is a Load Cell in the trailer hitch so it knows the load it's pulling in real time. That way it would accurately estimate the range with the actual load attached.
Mate, Praying for you, wife and kids! So yes I ordered a CyberTruck 4/8/2021. I owned a RAM 1500 with Air Suspension and LOVED it. I towed boats and trailers. It made it sooo easy to back up, release the trailer, & tell the truck to lower! Man, no cranking the tongue up or down. It also made it easy for my short mother-in-law to get in/out. It was one of my 2 most favorite features! Cheers, Eric
I ordered my cyber truck 15 minutes after they unveiled it according to a particular cyber truck website I’m number 17,000 roughly and I’m counting the seconds. Three months later, I ordered a second one and three months after that I ordered a third one my plan is for my daughter to have one and my wife to have one also. Thanks for the great channel and thanks for all your hard work❤

I have two on order. a tri-motor with FSD (likely upgrade to quad motor). The other, I'm not sure about but depending on FSD, I plan to have it be a full time ride share / rental vehicle. I think the CTs will be in HIGH demand for renting.
Ordered one, i am 141,000 in line. I am a utilitarian car/truck buyer. This checks the most boxes EVER of any vehicle. Can drive like a sports car, useful to carry/ pack things in the bed, can tow trailers, and fit 6 tall people in it when needed, per the specs. All while not having to worry about paint scratches or rust!
This may not be a critical feature, but with everything else being the same I would opt for this vehicle. I have manually cranked an RV countless times to the right height to attach it to my vehicle. New RVs have electric height controls, but not mine, and more than once I backed up my Jeep GC to the receiver that was not high enough. A lot of manual work on a hot summer day or a rainy autumn day. Cool feature and I would pay extra for it.
Very handy for loading and unloading a caravan. Increase the ride height, attach the jockey wheel to the caravan, then lower the suspension and it pops off the tow ball piece of cake.
Dream indeed. 500 mi range, save o ton on fuel costs. Save another ton on repair bills. save another ton on body shop.. for its a bat proof tank exterior. Ultra safe. You get in a crash.... you win 🙂 Plus it looks outrageous, is fast as fug too. I ordered mine two years ago. Dual motor FSD.
I ordered pretty quickly as well but am still about in the 200k range in the reservation que. My primary reasons other than wanting electric truck is the windshield and exoskeleton strength. In my current truck i have replaced the windshield 3 times already due to road debris and hail damage. Also have hail damage to the top and body of truck twice! I am really tired of the dealing with these issues and insurance rates going up.
Similar to you, I have a Toyota Hilux (small version of the Tundra). I cannot fault it. I have punished it for years on construction sites. But I do realiser that every time I service it (oil change etc) Toyota is taking me for a ride. It has surface rust, a cracked windscreen, and a few small dents. My CT will end most of these issues. When I get my CT,.... Not any more!
I can't wait for mine. I too love the ramp. It is a game change when it comes to loading. Loading anything with wheels or legs! What a revolution of having a Ute that you can simply walk into the bed. The solid tonneau cover also could be brilliant, if it works. Lots of moving parts there so we shall see. If anyone can make it work Tesla engineers are the most likely. Lastly, Stainless Steal body. No concern of scratching the paint what so ever! Absolutely kick ass for of off road, and on road as well frankly.
The lift kit will be handy for Cybertruck's Boat mode. With fatter tires, you may even be able to keep the batteries out of the water. Throw on some retractable hydrofoils and ... voila!
Front down low, back up high......good for loading heavy stuff lifted to the tray, & can push the goods in the tray more easily towards the cabin.👍 Bit of a beast for grocery shopping in the Aussie suburbs though, eh?🤪
The huge lift is awesome!! Will be great for the large snow events we get! I don't think I'll see mine this year, but I'm around 70,000 on the waiting list!! Hoping to have it next year!!

Great video. Scott in Chiang Mai here...lol This is one of the things I didn't like about the Rivian R1T, it also has Air suspension, but it doesn't have nearly the suspension travel that a real off-road vehicle needs and the height is not user adjustable except through the normal driving modes which adjust the suspension automatically which is not user configurable. We are scheduled to get more Tesla vehicles here in Thailand, I certainly hope the Cybertruck is eventually available.
the ramp & air suspension is nice. My must have is the solar system that's been alleged. Even if it can't do much, it'll be enough to keep things topped up for my regular commute, so I don't have to plug in unless I want to road trip somewhere. Add in the inverter & plugs for power outages, and it's a no-brainer. THAT is the killer feature for me.
That’s the same reason I bought it too. Always wanted a truck Sometimes Like the weekends for chores. I just hope also I can drive it like a lowRider Car on streets with air suspensions dropped to lowest point. Also helps for ingress and egress for kids and me as I get older!
Agree air suspension is great, but wife and I want it less for loading and more for the great ride. A long wheelbase, wide track, air suspended rigid chassis will make it super comfortable for racking up long highway miles. Add FSD, low center of gravity, and Tesla's safety, you have the finest wheeled vehicle to ever roam the planet. A bullet resistant pickup that rides better than a limo. Elon has called it Tesla's magnum opus!
I love pickup trucks too. I currently own a 1985 Toyota long bed truck with a manual transmission. Very fun to drive and very useful. I haven’t ordered a cyber truck. Hoping to get an Aptera though.
My favorite feature of the Cybertruck is the airless tires. And of course, the thermo-nuclear war-proof window warranty. Looks like we might need that?
I have ordered a CyberTruck but I am like 950,000th so likely 2-4 years until I get it. I am looking at getting a Model X or Y this fall which will allow me to experience FSD before the CyberTruck arrives - all the Tesla’s are amazing!
I think you're crazy if you "don't" order a Cybertruck! Like you, I ordered mine almost immediately, (next day) actually, once I got over the shock of the look of it. The specifications won me over and I got used to the futuristic look. If you're going to try and drive a mower into it you'll need to level it out against a hillside or berm or else the mower will high center itself where the ramp and tailgate meet. Someone else did build a stainless-steel vehicle prior to the Cybertruck, in fact, Elon has said the Cybertruck was influenced by the DeLorean. Love your channel and thanks for keeping us up to date on everything EV.

I did order one but waited awhile to let the shock wear off. So unfortunately I will be waiting for years more to get mine. Hopefully all the initial bugs will be worked out by then.
The Cybertruck has a central switch where every sensor is connected. Use a cat 5 cable, and you can logon and see every sensor in the entire vehicle. Assembly is essentially a giant folding puzzle. The vehicle is a showcase, and if it rolls off the assembly line this year it will positively impact production and decrease maintenance cost for every model after it. The thing comes up from the floor, gets assembled in parallel and then folds into final form. KISS rule.
Got a reservation too, but more for lifestyle vehicle for my very occasional going up the mountains and minimal offroading. I chose this over the MX as both can carry 6 people (in my use case) but the CT has a lot more possible use cases.. I'm excited to get mine, hopefully 2025 as my configuration is only dual motors
All the best for your wife. That's a Cool CT feature. Is it going to have a folding back window for longer items or camping, this would be a great feature.
I have to admit that when I first saw the truck I thought it was terribly ugly. Now I'm interested to see the production version and what the practical specs are. Let it make its prove before judging it is my motto now.😃
Intriguing: retractable bed cover that is solar pv giving about 30 miles of range per day just parked in ☀️ location i.e. campsite African or Oz surfari 🏄 mobile... Yeeeoow!
My jeep grand cherokee has a lift that will adjust based on the mode i put it in like rock vs snow vs mud etc..the Gofund me account did really well for you.
Wish I could get back home to take you to dinner. I’m on the road working for another week or so. The best steaks in town (Bangkok ) are gauchos Argentinian steak house. There are a couple of them. We like the one on Soi 19.
My son ordered one. I have a model X he had a model X traded it in for a self driving model Y. I have not shoveled snow in 6 years because of that ability in my model X. When i am able to buy a cybertruck i think i never will have to shovel snow again ever. This thing is a beast. Will try to get a 500 range CT eventually. I also want a roadster. Waiting to see how small it is.
The suspension is nothing new my C5 has it and it is awesome. Maybe not the same as my system is hydrologic but the same idea of controlling the ride height of the vehicle. A very useful feature and hopefully as good or better than my cars system.
I love this, have one on order and I highly recommend you get one too. It's gonna be insane, plus it will charge from your home solar and power your house at night like a Powerwall. It's a complete no brainer.
It's a good feature; so good that in 5 years any pickup that seeks to stay in the game will have adopted it. (Currently have a Mitsubishi 4x4 pickup, but when I bought a ride-on mower I collected it with a trailer, 500mm loading height vs 1000mm for the Mitsi.)
Those are real advantages - the suspension and the drive on ramp system - but as an old guy who has driven American pickups both here and in the US. I moved countless motorcycles just using a homemade wooden ramp, and would use a pair of wooden ramps to try to drive a riding mower onto the truck or perhaps better use a cheap come along to pull it up the ramps. But I’m not saying Tesla hasn’t done well and I think you are right that they have out thought and out engineered the legacy auto companies. The increased size of the cargo area is a killer improvement speaking from practical experience.
Lifestyle marketing that will contribute to gridlock. Bumper to bumper madness. Southern California is the largest truck market in North America. "I need a 2500kg metal box on wheels to haul my ego around."
Cybertruck should have bi-directional charging system where when plugged in charges but in a power outage the truck's becomes a battery back for the home's power. Useful because I expect the truck's battery to be way bigger the any battery back up system in market today and would particularly appreciated by owners living at the edge of the grid and last to be served in an outage. The Idea has got to be current at the Austin Giga Factory because the area just suffered another ice storm that knocked out electricity in a big way for the second year in a row!
I have ordered and will get the 4 motor variant, but I absolutely need the EPA 500+ mile range so that I can achieve a 10% - 80% towing range of 160 miles. This is going to be very hard to achieve if the battery is not big enough. Remember while towing just about all the Cybertruck's aerodynamic advantage goes out the window, and the current F150 and Rivian R1T are struggling to get 110 to 120 miles of practical towing range. Non Towing efficiency for both trucks is pathetic at 1.8 miles / kWh. Hoping CT can pull out 2.8 kWh / mile normally and 1.5 miles / kWh towing. This would be almost twice the efficiencies of the other trucks who are getting like 0.8 kWh / mile. The Tesla Semi at 1.7 kWh/mile while towing 45K lbs has me very hopeful that if any company can do this, it is definitely Tesla.
It’s not a 16 inch lift kit. Elon clearly stated 16 inches of GROUND CLEARANCE. The suspension will be able to raise or lower about 4 inches in each direction. Still impressive and quite useful. Not to mention adding this kind of air suspension to a normal truck is about $20k.
The air suspension will be 8" lift/8" drop which is awesome! I really hope it's super durable so we don't have stories of people stuck 100 miles off the beaten path due to failed suspensions.
My feature which I'm hoping they will go through with is the pass thru from the interior into the bed area for my dogs to move about. I don't know how they'll pull that off considering that roll up tonneau cover blocks the area behind the back seats. As for your reservation (mine is #300,567), I don't think you'll see it anytime soon but have you considered taking delivery of it in the US and just shipping it to Australia? Do a little fund raiser on your channel - I'd contribute a couple of bucks to help you make your dream come true and to let you be the top dog among the ICE ute owners down under.
Converting it to right hand drive in Australia would be difficult. Some US vehicles- Ram, Silverado (is that right?) and F-150 are being "remanufactured" to Australian RHD standards under manufacturers' instructions so they don't void their warranty. I don't think Tesla would do that.
What about the features Tesla already canceled? No exoskeleton, no rear wheel steering, no lightweight, no prove about range and price, still no FSD. Maybe you can make a feature about the estimated release date of the cybertruck?
i ordered it but not for about a yr after they revealed it by breaking the windows.. and im already over 472,000 down on the waiting list so i expect its still gonna be a few more yrs before i ever get mine... but at least i also got the FSD price locked in at $5k then instead of the current 15k price point and hopefully in 3 yrs FSD will be feature complete because personally i dont really need a truck and i just wanted to put it out to work for me in the autonomus taxi network..
@@daveblock The bed is uncluttered with wheel wells projecting into it. That makes for easier loading/unloading. As far as owning trucks, I have owned a pickup for over 50 years. Presently, I own a F350 4x4 regular cab dually with 8' box and 7100 lbs payload. Cheers.
@@daveblock You may want to re-read my post. I said that the best feature of the CT bed is that there are no wheel wells in the box. A normal pickup has wheel wells in the box which prevents access and limits space in the box when accessing it from the rear. The Cybertruck's box does not have the wells, so therefore it allows for easier access and retrieval of items when compared to traditional boxes. Furthermore, I never said the sides don't get in the way when accessing the box. But now that you brought it up, because the CT can crop down due to it's air suspension; when fully dropped, the side of the rear half of the box is lower compared to standard pickups. My F350 is way too tall for tool access from the sides. You have to climb the rear wheels to pull stuff out of the box from the sides, or use a little portable 2' step ladder I have just for the occasion. As far as whether you think I never owned a truck, go ahead and think what you want. A little bit of advice though, don't let emotions based on false pre-conceived ideas get in the way of objective reasoning when articulating a point of view or an argument. You may want to Google "confirmation bias".
@@daveblock Ok Captain Obvious. You're right you can't mount rectangular tool boxes on a triangular design, I never said you could. I did say that the inside of the box is void of wheel wells which allows for easier loading and unloading from the back. The CT bed is around 5'-6" wide, which is wider by about 16" more than the width between the wells for a standard pickup box. That's a big plus.
@@daveblock By that logic, the larger wheel wells a pickup box has, the better it is. Real smart Captain Obvious. By the way, I am not a fanboy. There is no way in hell you can plop a 3500 lbs camper on a Cybertruck like you can on a F350 with an 8'box. But I do realize the potential of EV vehicles and the coming transformation. It's time you look at a glass being half full instead of half empty. Elon made me a lot of money with his visionary disruptions. Maybe you should save up your pennies and buy some Tesla stock, you'll thank me in ten years. Cheers.
Hey did you miss the Ioniq 6 intro. This will be a major headache to Tesla because Hyundai knocked it out of the park with the 6. $44.500 USD get you 361 miles of range.
I'm excited to see the cyber truck for all of its innovation. I think they look odd, but I will take function over looks. I don't need a truck, but otherwise I'd be seriously considering it despite it's odd look. I think it has a cool factor you the look as well if I'm honest.
We actually know very little about the cyber truck. I hope we find out a lot on March 1. We know what it looks like on the outside but it might be a lot different on the inside. We don’t know the pricing, range, number motors battery size, outlets, Frunk…
Love the look of the cyber truck, that said don’t think you well get your grasscutter on it. Unless it’s got a high clearance level. If you look at it, the bit that pulls out is at a difference angle to what it pulls out of. An the bass of the track is at a different angle to both. So I hope your right, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. 🙏🏻🇬🇧
Yeah like you said the approach angle of that ramp isn't going to be very friendly to things like lawn mowers - Would likely need to order some ramps that people use for their trucks already because they can be longer with a softer angle
This is awesome! I know Tesla said that maybe they will be producing a van, but this truck will be great for me to drive up my electric wheelchair into, secure, and take with me wherever I go! 🥰😍
i ordered two. i wish i could get one RHD here for delivery, single pedal driving for a mail truck would be great. Better than whatever scam the post office is doing on their new EV trucks.

I installed a 750W inverter into my (older) minivan.

Ya a 2000w inverter should be standard or at least an option. My work truck had a 2000w inverter that I used at work and home when the power went out

It's great for lowering to improve highway range and easier entry
I have to admit that when I first saw the truck I thought it was terribly ugly. Now I'm interested to see the production version and what the practical specs are. Let it make its prove before judging it is my motto now.😃
Intriguing: retractable bed cover that is solar pv giving about 30 miles of range per day just parked in ☀️ location i.e. campsite
African or Oz surfari 🏄 mobile... Yeeeoow!
My jeep grand cherokee has a lift that will adjust based on the mode i put it in like rock vs snow vs mud etc..the Gofund me account did really well for you.
I ordered a single motor… then later I ordered a dual motor. Who knows what they will actually make. I am looking forward to getting one or both.
That is amazing. Rivian Air suspension lifts the truck to 14.4 inches and is pretty amazing already, imagine 16 inches of lift.
I am near Orlando FL. I reserved the night of the announcement. If you come to Central Florida (Disney World) after I get it I'll let you drive it.
I will not be able to afford a CT but I sure as heck love the out of the norm design. I hope they are out to see later this year.
An excellent explanation and illustration of a really practical feature, many would not have appreciated its significance
I am with you.
I agree with you, but i want a smaller RWD one to get the price down below $50k.
i have reserved my cybertruck but didnt know about this feature. thx
I suppose you come to Thailand for medical treatments. I hope it goes well and you recuperate and become healthy again soon.
Waiting patiently for mine to show up.
Love it! Can't wait for it's release!
" I'm not Thai, I'm Australian..." Well, that clears that up! ;)
The air suspension will be 8" lift/8" drop which is awesome! I really hope it's super durable so we don't have stories of people stuck 100 miles off the beaten path due to failed suspensions.
im in canada and the, factory lift will be great in the mud and snow.
NEVER argue with results.. Call Balls and Strikes.. Things will go better that way.
OMG... I can't wait.
My favorite thing about the Cybertruck is waiting for 2019 with zero substantial updates.
The best feature of the CT bed is the fact that there are no wheel wells. Makes for more room and easier loading/unloading.
Cheers.
There is a slight dump truck aspect to this tilting aspect, also.
Yeah, I like the level of height adjustment. But as BM living in NY, I was sold when Elon said it was bullet proof to a handgun.
Rivian already has the air suspension lift.
Land Rover has had air suspension for many many years as has Tesla actually in the Model X & S
We actually know very little about the cyber truck. I hope we find out a lot on March 1. We know what it looks like on the outside but it might be a lot different on the inside. We don’t know the pricing, range, number motors battery size, outlets, Frunk…
wonder if it's even going to be street legal in europe, since it's so wide... it would be cool if they made a narrower version hah
Why not point the nose up and the butt down?
Yeah like you said the approach angle of that ramp isn't going to be very friendly to things like lawn mowers - Would likely need to order some ramps that people use for their trucks already because they can be longer with a softer angle
@@samwalters1 Again... Cybertruck, you can lift the nose and drop the butt. Adjustable air suspension.
How do you plan to order one? It’s not available in Australia for the foreseeable future.
It’s never coming to Australia until they make a smaller one. Musk said so.
This is awesome! I know Tesla said that maybe they will be producing a van, but this truck will be great for me to drive up my electric wheelchair into, secure, and take with me wherever I go! 🥰😍
Nope. The ramp is way too steep for anything other than a four wheeler
@@jimdandy9118 Damn! 😖😉
Also my dream Ute, because of this feature.
i ordered two. i wish i could get one RHD here for delivery, single pedal driving for a mail truck would be great. Better than whatever scam the post office is doing on their new EV trucks.
