Sura 5:68 " People of the book, you have no valid ground for your beliefs unless you truly observe the Torah and the gospel, and all that has been sent down to you from your Lord". So Christians are advised by the Quran to read and believe the Torah and gospels. The Torah and gospels therefore were uncorrupted in the 7th century. We also know from the Dead Sea Scrolls found in 1947 and dating to the 2nd century BC that the Torah is the same as modern scripture. Strangely, the Torah has 351 prophesies of the Messiah all of which Jesus fulfilled. No sign of Mohammed though.

One of these was: “This verse accuses us of taking our scholars and monks as our lords. What is its real meaning. For we do not take them as our lords.” As a reply to this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) put him a counter question: “Is it not a fact that you accept as unlawful what they declare to be unlawful, and lawful what they declare to be lawful?” Adi confessed, “Yes, it is so.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “This amounts to making them your lords.” source : islamicstudies.info/reference.php?sura=9&verse=31

The same happened to every prophet when he died. People either revert to their old religion and/or abandon his law to the point that his message is subverted. When the messenger pbuh died, the first Khalifa, Abu Bakr Al-Sidiq came to his bed and checked his body and the rest of the companions were outside troubled even Omar bin Al-Khattab. He went outside and said firmly:”He who worshipped Mohammad, Mohammad has died and he who worships Allah, Allah lives and never dies”. The he recited the two aya: “إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ ٣٠ 39:30. 3:144. Muhammad is but an messenger ; [other] messengers have passed before him. If he dies or is killed, will you turn back on your heels? Anyone who turns back on his heels, will not harm Allah in the least, and soon Allah will reward the grateful. That was not enough though and soon tribes started to revert and a person named Musailama (the Liar) claimed prophethood and many tribes wanted to stopped paying Zakat which is an obligation of Sharia (separate from tax or charity). The very existence of the message was at stake so Abu Bakr acted swiftly and the Ridda wars started. The basic difference between Sunni muslims and the rest of sects/religions that came out of Islam (Druz, Ismaili, Ahmadi, Bahaa,..) is that they disregard part of Islam’s law or has a figure or clergy which Islam doesn’t have.

I am well aware of Rabbi Tovia Singer's views on Jesus not being the Messiah according to Orthodox Jewish belief, but I wonder why would they not accept Jesus as a prophet? According to some of the Gospel passages, Jesus understood himself to be a prophet. However, if Jesus really did refer to himself as the Son of Man, would that suggest that he also considered himself to be the Messiah foretold in Jewish Scripture? Rabbi Tovia Singer argues that the signs of the Messianic Age did not accompany Jesus 2000 years ago, which would suggest that he was not the Messiah as foretold by Daniel, Isiah and other prophets. But apart from that, what reason would Jews have for not accepting Jesus as a Jewish Prophet?
My dear brother, the Jews did not accept anyone contrary to their whims Moses split the sea and made it a path, but they worshiped the calf. God in the Torah said to them as you worshiped others. Salam brother Paul. I think some day you should make a video on the Arians. They were very popular at one point and many senior priests also subscribed to the Arian theology if I’m not mistaken. That would open the eyes of many Christians today who are completely unaware of how the modern Christianity wasn’t the only popular expression of faith during the history of the Christian church.
Interesting, but also take into account the context(s) of the Early Church. Pauls' letters were written c.49 : Galatians -60: Romans . The Gospels: c. 65-100. Matthew, the most 'Jewish' of the Gospels: 70s or 80s. The whole question of admission of Gentiles to the church had been decided prior to the writing of Matthew, so why then does Matthew emphasise Jesus adherence to Torah, but also presents him, in the Sermon on the Mount, as speaking with authority like Moses himself? The key here is perhaps Matthew's intended audience, Jewish Christians, a Palestinian community. There are many strands at work here. There is no doubt that Jesus lived and died a devout Jew, yet there are also his conflicts with the religious leaders over interpretations of Torah. There is also the prophetic element in Jesus life, which articulates the tension between the legal and the prophetic in the Old Testament - the universality of the Prophetic message, against the particular norms of living and the centrality of the Temple cult, against which Jesus spoke strongly, and was perhaps one factor leading to his crucifixion. I'd argue that there was no abandonment of the teaching of Jesus, a sea-change, but rather an increasing development of understanding of who Jesus was, and the implications of what his earliest disciples had experienced. This was unique: God become man, and everyone was grappling with this, from the Jewish perspective, and in the case of the Gentiles from the pervasive Hellenistic philosophies. 1. Cor 15 is an obvious example in terms of Greek thinking. The revolution was not about sidelining Jesus as historical individual who said so much in his ministry, but about who he was, in word and deed, and the action of God in the world through his life.

You are pretty good at answering them, so may Allah bless you and give you rewards! Ameen! :)
@Faisal Siraj I'd disagree on a number of points. Jesus was a devout Jew, as was Paul also. Additionally Paul was probably the most highly and most broadly educated of the NT writers, being a Pharisee, and born in Tarsus, a university city of its day. Therefore he would have been well acquainted with Hellenistic thought, as Jews of the Diaspora were. So what changed for Paul, and in his own understanding of the theology he was versed in? In fact, like all the early Christians, the metaphors and theological concepts they applied to Jesus were carried over from the Old Testament. They only had that language since the New Testament had not been written. The Scriptures of first century Christianity were what is now called the Old Testament. Throughout Paul's letters he is consistently understanding Jesus in terms of his own Jewish Theology, which was profoundly monotheistic. Here's where the doctrine of the Trinity departs from polytheism: the actual real incarnation of God on Earth - and that, despite Paul's early relentless persecution of followers of Jesus, as the staunch Jewish leader he was, was something Paul accepted. He didn't create it from a background Pagan mythology, rather, as his letters show, it emerged from a deeper understanding of the Jewish Theology he was so well versed in, and which logically had Jesus as the fulfilment . That was a huge movement of thought for Paul - likewise for the early Christians. That reference to Acts - of Paul at Lystra - well as soon as this happened the passage goes on to say how Paul repudiated the crowd for this. Acts is an interesting book, written by a Gentile Christian, quite cosmopolitan in his outlook. Acts contains all sorts of interesting insights into the Roman Empire of the time, plenty of references to the superstition and magic that held popular imagination. What were the people of Lystra supposed to say, after Paul's miracle? As for the idea of Jesus' Death being a human sacrifice - that's well out of serious consideration. In the death of Jesus we don't have some far flung concocted plan. All the events that led up to the crucifixion didn't have to happen. Jesus himself could have escaped when they were in Gethsemane by sneaking out to the Judaean desert. Some might say, even the birth of Jesus didn't have to happen; what if Mary had said - No. In terms of the interpretation of Jesus' death, that's in line with Jewish Theology of sacrifice, from the Passover Lamb, Temple Cult and the scapegoat. An example of how Judaic thought was used to express the meaning of Jesus' life and death. Going back to the start of Judaism: with Abraham - it's seems clear that he was henotheistic - following This God out of all the others. The clinching point could have been the sacrifice of Isaac. (Common practice in ancient times to sacrifice your first fruits including children.) This God, whom Abraham entered allegiance to, did not want such a sacrifice - a human sacrifice story, you might say, with a happy ending, but showing something about Abraham's God to distinguish him from all the others. Down to Moses: The Israelites are worshipping a golden calf, when Moses comes down off Sinai. Which indicates that the establishment of a one God cult wasn't yet fully secure. Down to Paul - the idea of human sacrifice - utterly abhorrent. There's a huge difference between that and giving up your life for a cause, or for beliefs. In no way is that the understanding of the death of Jesus in the early church. It's interesting to think about the Graeco- Roman cultural surroundings of Early Christianity, but it appears that rather than assimilate to them, Christianity opposed them, at first quiet and gradual, then turning into a torrent by the time of the Edict of MIlan. James G Dunn in his book 'Christology in the Making' argues persuasively that all this God-Man, and appropriation of Hellenistic ideas is more or less a mirage invented by modern scholars who go in for that sort of thing, and not grounded in textual and contextual understanding of the New Testament world. So: I do not think that the thesis of your final paragraph is defensible on the evidence. And that is all there is to build on. I could see a book titled : 'Paul the Jew', but I'd double-take if I saw 'Paul the Pagan'.
@Faisal Siraj I do not go about lifting individual words of Jesus to bolster my arguments. Like anyone else, his words have to be understood in their context, and like any other books the New Testament books do also. Also: it'a useful to remember that they weren't Holy Scripture when they were written . Your position seems summed up in your final paragraph. My objections coalesce around how we are to understand Paul. Remember, the Gospels were not written until after Paul was executed. An extreme position might be to leave out the Gospels, to understand the message of Paul.
@Faisal Siraj The different writers of the NT have different insights and different gifts. There is no way to bring them all into agreement. An obvious example is the differing accounts of the Resurrection Appearances of Jesus. Or trying to build up a coherent chronology of the events of the last week of Jesus' life. It's impossible to get back to the actual words Jesus used - since he spoke in Aramaic, and the Gospels transmitting these words were written in Koine Greek The very testimony, if it means the very actual words, cannot be in front of any of us. At a deeper level, this question is about articulating the concept of revelation. I'm not a fundamentalist Christian, so I won't pick up my KJV and say there! I am interested in Ancient history, the formation of the Gospels, and the sort of umbilical cord that links christian scripture to the Creeds of the fourth century, and to the christian church now. Primarily historical and linguistic evidence, and good argument. Ideas and understandings develop over time. Navis in Latin is ship. I can write that now - but the idea in my head isn't what your ancient Roman would have.
@Faisal Siraj I am completely sincere. Committed to an understanding of Ancient World texts, committed to their scientific study. You've got Paul in a headlock, and are trying to wring out of him things he could not possibly be aware of or think. Likewise the Gospels, which Paul could not have read, being written after his life-time. I'm trying simply to see what was going on in the world where the christian bible was written. John's Gospel is fascinating, so unlike the other three. Even in English Jesus speaks far more symbolically, and in a different cadence. Plucking verses out solves none of the problems: Trinitarianism; (which is a brand of monotheism); Monotheism; Radical Monotheism and Paul's distortion of Jesus' teaching that you raise. Faith doesn't matter here. You have addressed none of my arguments based on NT scholarship, or Ancient World context. Throwing verses of NT writings back at me is no argument. From the start I have been: context - Ancient World - historical. Paul I would argue is a really interesting case, given his background, given that all he had written was before the Gospels. I have no doctrine - I always want to see where the inquiry leads. .
Conservative Christian NT scholar, Richard Bauckham: “The argument of this book [Jesus and the Eyewitnesses]-that the texts of our Gospels are close to the eyewitness reports of the words and deeds of Jesus-runs counter to almost all recent scholarship. As we have indicated from time to time, the prevalent view is that a long period of oral transmission in the churches intervened between whatever the eyewitnesses said and the Jesus traditions as they reached the Evangelists [the authors of the Gospels]. No doubt the eyewitnesses started the process of oral tradition, but it passed through many retellings, reformulations, and expansions before the Evangelists themselves did their own editorial work on it.” p. 240
Article on this book in Wiki: Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony is a book written by biblical scholar and theologian Richard Bauckham and published in 2006 (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans). The book challenges the consensus view that, "while the eyewitnesses originated (at least some of) the traditions about Jesus, these were then transmitted as anonymous traditions in the early Christian communities, developing in all sorts of ways in the process, and reached the Gospel writers as the product of such community transmission and development."[1] It argues that the synoptic Gospels are based "quite closely" on the testimony of eyewitnesses, while one (the Gospel of John) is written by an eyewitness.[1] The final chapter offers a theological argument against the dichotomy between the Christ of faith and the historical Jesus.

Well, his name in Hebrew was originally Sha'ul. What English made to be Saul. The Bible never claims his name was changed to Paul either. He was brought up strictly Jewish, as a Pharisee, and studied with a high Pharisee. You can read about it in Acts. There it also shows how Sha'ul never forsake the Torah.
@@azhajouj Sha'ul is the author of the letters. But there is one reference in scripture that says he was "also called Paul" but this is in a very specific instance and it's unclear what exactly is happening there. Usually, Christians are fed the idea that Saul's name was changed to Paul after he converted. This is basic NT teaching, even though scripture never claims this. Saul is a transliteration of the original Hebrew name, like most English names for people from the Bible are. Yeshua even gets transliterated to 'Jesus'. So what you said about 'Paul being a non-Hebrew name' is of course true, it never claims it is. It's just the name used in the non-Hebrew manuscripts of the Bible. The name of the guy was Hebrew, however:)
There was a moment in your conversation with Sir Anthony Buzzard, in which you pointed, out if Jesus isn't God, then it's a human sacrifice. Sir Anthony agreed and then suddenly clicked onto what you had said. Quite an extraordinary moment I thought.
Yip. Buzzard was being marked by another buzzard. Looking for him to slip. Was expected. I am a christian. the interview was Paul using deceit in asking his questions. He didn't ask those questions as a seeker of truth from a 'scholar'. It's the reason why Buzzard the doctor was out of his league and made that error because he believes an error. Jesus is God makes better sense. Jesus as God is what Isaiah says of him. so why would Buzzard the doctor speak differently. It is crazy of him. This challenge of his views may cause Buzzard the doctor to change his idea concerning the trinity: Jesus being God. However, this challenge of one's views is what i want Paul, the other Buzzard to submit himself to. He likes to control outcomes. That is not good if he doesn't want for himself what he wants for others.

Assalamualaikum brother Paul. One interesting topic is the last supper from the islamic perspective. There is a Surah in the Quran called surah Al Maidah some believe that this Surah is really referring to the last supper. Al-Quran 5:111-115, Translator: Pickthal] And when I inspired the disciples, (saying): Believe in Me and in My messenger, they said: We believe. Bear witness that we have surrendered (unto Thee) "we are muslims". When the disciples said: O Jesus, son of Mary! Is thy Lord able to send down for us a table spread with food from heaven? He said: Observe your duty to Allah, if ye are true believers. (They said:) We wish to eat thereof, that we may satisfy our hearts and know that thou hast spoken truth to us, and that thereof we may be witnesses. Jesus, son of Mary, said: O Allah, Lord of us! Send down for us a table spread with food from heaven, that it may be a feast for us, for the first of us and for the last of us, and a sign from Thee. Give us sustenance, for Thou art the Best of Sustainers. Allah said: Lo! I send it down for you. And whoso disbelieveth of you afterward, him surely will I punish with a punishment wherewith I have not punished any of (My) creatures. How does this compare against the narrative in the bible? What is this punishment that God say? Is it the crucifixion of the disciple that betrayed Jesus? Interesting to hear your thoughts.
The quranic and the biblical narrative of heaven differ on many many levels. But a key one is this: in Allah heaven Allah is not there, whereas in YHWH heaven, YHWH Himself is there.
Please find below an extract from an article that I came across that I think is relevant: "Further, with the coming of Christ, virtually everything has changed! The blood sacrifices ceased because Christ fulfilled all that they were pointing toward. He was the final, unrepeatable sacrifice for sins. Hebrews 9:12, “He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. The priesthood that stood between the worshiper and God has ceased. Hebrews 7:23-24, “The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.”The physical temple has ceased to be the geographic center of worship. Now, Christ himself is the center of worship. He is the “place,” the “tent,” and the “temple” where we meet God. Therefore, Christianity has no geographic center, no Jerusalem. John 4:21, 23, “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. . . . But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.’” John 2:19, 21, “‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ . . . He [Jesus] was speaking about the temple of his body.” Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my [Jesus’s] name, there am I among them. The food laws that set Israel apart from the nations have been fulfilled and ended in Christ. Mark 7:18-19, “[Jesus] said to them, . . . ‘Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?’ . . . (Thus he declared all foods clean.) The establishment of civil law on the basis of an ethnically rooted people, who are ruled directly by God, has ceased. The people of God are no longer a unified political body or an ethnic group or a nation-state, but are exiles and sojourners among all ethnic groups and all states. Therefore, God’s will for states is not taken directly from the Old Testament theocratic order, but should now be re-established from place to place and from time to time by means that correspond to God’s sovereign rule over all peoples, and that correspond to the fact that genuine obedience, rooted as it is in faith in Christ, cannot be coerced by law. The state is therefore grounded in God, but not expressive of God’s immediate rule. Romans 13:1, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” John 18:36, “My [Jesus’s] kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting.”

Good review, Paul. Imho, that book did not explaining several things. 1) What is the mission of prophet Isaa to his people ? 2) We known there was "Torah" back in the time of prophet Isaa (Jesus) but God have sent Injeel to Prophet Isaa then he taught Injeel to his disciples and follower. Why did prophet Isaa (Jesus) taught Injiil (authentic Godspell) to his disciples and follower ? 3. Why did the supreme religious council community rejects Jesus ?
1- jesus did not teach anything different than what was in torah. It was the same message so that people who thought they know it all ie rabbi's (who abused the knowledge to their advantage) were to be put in their place. Which is why jesus came in and Which is why they wanted him dead. 2- His rejection by the supreme Council.. because that would be the only way to make it palatable to romans and greeks the then superpowers to accept an ideology that matched their customs. Thanks for another insightful and concise video, Paul. One question: why did mainstream Christian theologians believe that breaking with Jewish tradition and the Law of Moses has to do with the advent of Jesus Christ as the messiah? Is there any textual evidence from the Torah suggesting that the messiah will abrogate the Law upon his arrival, or that the Law was a set of punishments for the People of Israel, thus necessitating its abrogation after believing in Christ? I always thought that the simpler answer was that the Gentiles would have had a hard time adopting the Law of Moses, so it would have been easier to do away with the Law in order to facilitate the conversion of the populations in Roman lands to Christianity. But I would love to hear your opinion on this :) Thanks!

@@alexanderv7702 @Sandy Forsyth Forgive me, I thought you were requesting the purpose of my post, instead of the meaning of the above passage that I posted. My limited understanding of this passage is ass follow: God promises that there will be a new covenant, because the previous one had shortcomings and challenges to its implementation. Every new covenant, like every new contract comes with a new set of rules or laws. But because, God is holy and He is constant, the new set of laws have to comply with the frame that defined the previous set of laws. And that frame is love. From commandment 1 to 4, our love for God is commanded, and from commandment 5 to 10, our love for our neighbors is commanded. That same frame of love should define the new set of laws. Which Christ summarize by saying: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22 : 37-39 Many have critiqued this statement in saying that Christ has reduced the extent to which the Law should be implemented. My belief, on the contrary, is that Christ has extended the Law, which in addition to staying restrictive in terms of you shall not do the things that hurt others and saddened God, the law also become proactive in terms of you shall do to God and to others things motivated by love and for their good. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." Matthew 7 :12 By elevating the commandment of love, Christ not only extended the scope of the Law but also He made it deeper, addressing all the issues of the heart that were not addressed in the pervious law, such as lust, hate, pride, selfishness … All these issues, when present become as sinful in the light of the new Law as the guilty actions that they produce. (Mathew 5 :21-48) As you might guessed the new Law of love is impossible to implement without God, but if it is Him who calls us to this new Law, it is fair for Him to provide us with the model by which we are called to love Him and to love one another, and the motivation for us to do so. Because love by definition is free and not forced, it shouldn't be a struggle to stay in it. For this to be the case, a strong foundation for love has to be provided for us to build on forever. What foundation of love is greater than self-sacrifice? Especially when this sacrifice proceeds from God Himself, and is offered freely to undeserving sinners? Those who receive this gift, this New Covenant, can love God back freely without being drained by the obligation to do so, because their motivation to do so come from Him and is maintained by Him. The model and the foundation is Christ by whom the New Covenant is offered, and the one who creates and maintains the motivation within our heart is God’s Spirit, the One by whom the New Covenant is sealed. This is also where the Holy Spirit plays a key role in the fulfillment of Jeremiah 33 :11. Because, among many many other things that He accomplishes, the Holy Spirit is the one by whom: God grants us a new heart (John 3 :2-5) God teaches us how to pray (Romans 8 :26-27) God teaches all things (John 14 :26) God seals us for heaven (Ephesians 1 :13) God sets us free from worldly passions (2 Corinthians 3 :17 ; Galatians 5 :26-17) God enable us to love Him and to love one another (Romans 5 :5) God enables us to overcome sin (Romans 8 :2) God enables us to bear good fruits (Galatians 5 :22-25) A side note that some might find controversial. With his new Law and the New Covenant, the Christ did not totally abrogate the dietary laws and customs laws that were present in the old Law. Christ made them just less binding compared to the Law of love. So, they can be implemented as long as the Law of love is not compromised. Let suppose that a true Christian (guided by God’s Spirit) is invited in a Jewish community that abides to all the laws of the Torah, the Law of love might require that this Christian follow suit or not depending on what the Holy Spirit wish to accomplish, to address that community's deepest needs (salvation, healing, unity, addressing the issue of pride and so on) With the Law of love, the motivations to implement the dietary and customary laws are all brought to the assessment of the holy Spirit. Those motivations include pride, selfishness, … He might require that those laws are suspended for a time until, the right motivations are channeled, and if pride remains an issue the Holy Spirit may require that the burden is loosen for new communities who might have their own forms of expression of the love that they due to God and to one another. This is how all tribes and tongues are brought into God’s great plan of salvation with the love due to God and love due to one another as the cardinal rules, and with the model of Christ and the Holy Spirit as the cardinal guides.

Hi there, I am trying to understand and appreciate the videos. I have one question. What about Matthew 15:11 where Jesus says "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them" Doesn't this go against the Torah and what this theologian is saying in this video? I would love to hear what you think about this Kind regards
@@BloggingTheology Do you mean that this statement by Jesus was an exaggeration? Sorry I don't understand. Doesn't Jesus clearly say here that non-Kosha or Halal meat will not defile anybody? Wouldn't this be part of the reason that Paul rejected the old Jewish food laws? Because Jesus himself was teaching a new teaching regarding food?
@@BIRDSKINMASK Jesus often spoke using exaggerated language to make his points. For example 'And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.' Many other examples..
@@BloggingTheology Right. I've always wondered about those verses. This might seem a silly question, but what makes you think he did not actually mean for sinners to cut their hands off or gauge their eyes out? Could He not be pointing to a serious situation regarding eternity and it's solution? You may very well be correct in assuming it's exaggeration, although I'm just wondering how you come to that final conclusion. I've thought about it often. I have also thought that why would Jesus be so serious here and so condemning of sin when he was in a moment of weeks or months be atoning for the sins of the world and rectifying the situation. Some Christian people who I have brought this up with have said that if anyone would be against sin it would be Him because He was the one who had to bear the punishment for it, hence his hyperbolic comments regarding the severity of sin. But something about that just didn't add up... Why would God have to suffer so badly for the sins of the world when God All-Powerful could rectify them in an instant with no suffering whatsoever. Therefore, what I'm saying here, is that Jesus saying to cut off our hands or gauge out our eyes would seem perfectly natural and non exaggerated if indeed he did not pay for the sins of the world, because a cut off hand would be infinately better than the alternative...
Jesus would reject many of his own followers for LAWLESSNESS -- "On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" (Matthew 7:22-23)
Since you tend to claim that the Bible is "corrupted", why do you quote from it? How do you know Matthew 7:22-23 isn't corrupted? If you accept Matthew 7:22-23, why do you not accept the rest of the Bible?
@@HilyahAsSalaf Either stop claiming it is "corrupted", or stop quoting from it in a desperate attempt to "support" Islam. If anything, the Bible exposes Islam. Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Galatians 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
When I was 16-17, around 1961-62, I used to ask very stupid questions to our local Catholic priest as well as to my very friendly Catholic neighbours! We went to College together! One of those questions was: Jesus preached WHITE and Paul, who never knew Jesus, was NO apostle of Jesus and found guilty of persecuting followers of Jesus and even having them killed, preached BLACK, and you are telling us both religions were the same? All the answers given by the priest proved that Paul had invented a new religion, an anti-Christ religion justified by the abolition of the Law, the invention of New Covenants, of a New Israel in heaven, and of Jesus himself! @George B what the fuck
@George B No it does not.

[9:31] They take their rabbis and their monks for their lords apart from Allah
When Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him), who was formerly a Christian, came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with the intention of understanding Islam, he asked several questions in order to remove his doubts. One of these was: “This verse accuses us of taking our scholars and monks as our lords. What is its real meaning. For we do not take them as our lords.”
As a reply to this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) put him a counter question: “Is it not a fact that you accept as unlawful what they declare to be unlawful, and lawful what they declare to be lawful?” Adi confessed, “Yes, it is so.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “This amounts to making them your lords.”

So, basically Saul followed "true" Christianity while he was zealously following "Judaism" and persecuting Christians, and when he became Paul and started following (and no longer persecuting) Christ, he went astray?
Who would believe such absurdities?
@Faisal Siraj Paul was a true follower of Jesus Christ. Learn more about Paul before making absurdly illogical claims, such as that Saul converted to Christianity just to "destroy" it from within.
Muhammad was a wolf in sheep clothing. According to Islamic sources, Muhammad robbed and killed, and was an addict, who had the "strength" of thirty men when it came to intercourse with many women in one night.
Muhammad was a warlord who was engaged in battles, and even fled from a battlefield, which according to his own Islamic standards, merits hell.
@Faisal Siraj The Father is the God. Paul wrote in Galatians 1:1
This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

The he recited the two aya: “إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ ٣٠

You are absolutely correct! God Bless you Sir!
Well explained
My dear brother, the Jews did not accept anyone contrary to their whims Moses split the sea and made it a path, but they worshiped the calf. God in the Torah said to them as you worshiped others. I will take the prophecy away from you and place it in a nation that does not read or write. All the prophets came from Bani Ishaq. Only Muhammad came from Ishmael.

@Faisal Siraj Jazak Allah brother for replying to all the Christian apologists. I notice many are pretending to be Atheists or just regular people but these are seasoned veterans. There is a person by the name Veritas who I am trying to figure out if he is Sam Shamoun, David Wood, or the other clowns that want to try and battle Muslims with limited knowledge. They get utterly destroyed by Shabbir, Hijab, Subroor etc in actual debates who are at their level but they come to these forums to try and relay their ridiculousness on us people are trying to learn from Paul.
I have no doctrine - I always want to see where the inquiry leads. .
Conservative Christian NT scholar, Richard Bauckham:
“The argument of this book [Jesus and the Eyewitnesses]-that the texts of our Gospels are close to the eyewitness reports of the words and deeds of Jesus-runs counter to almost all recent scholarship. 240
Article on this book in Wiki:
Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony is a book written by biblical scholar and theologian Richard Bauckham and published in 2006 (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans).

That is so powerful! I really like how you worded this "The religion of Jesus is being replaced by a religion about Jesus". Also, It is really amazing how someone comes to say I saw in my dream let's discard God's word.
There is no religion of Jesus. Following Jesus and worshipping God the Father is the way.

This is the Law Jesus left us with:
"Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” Matthew 22 :37-40.
All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments. Do you think then, that you will be more approved by God if you never ate pork or if you show compassion to your neighbor.

@@whoamI-xi3ln so you are telling he is not the author of the letters ?? And how is Shaaul became Paul ?? 😊😊

Please find below an extract from an article that I came across that I think is relevant:
"Further, with the coming of Christ, virtually everything has changed!
Mark 7:18-19, “[Jesus] said to them, . . . ‘Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?’ . . . (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
The establishment of civil law on the basis of an ethnically rooted people, who are ruled directly by God, has ceased.

My limited understanding of this passage is ass follow:
God promises that there will be a new covenant, because the previous one had shortcomings and challenges to its implementation.
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22 : 37-39
Many have critiqued this statement in saying that Christ has reduced the extent to which the Law should be implemented. My belief, on the contrary, is that Christ has extended the Law, which in addition to staying restrictive in terms of you shall not do the things that hurt others and saddened God, the law also become proactive in terms of you shall do to God and to others things motivated by love and for their good. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." Matthew 7 :12
By elevating the commandment of love, Christ not only extended the scope of the Law but also He made it deeper, addressing all the issues of the heart that were not addressed in the pervious law, such as lust, hate, pride, selfishness … All these issues, when present become as sinful in the light of the new Law as the guilty actions that they produce. (Mathew 5 :21-48)
As you might guessed the new Law of love is impossible to implement without God, but if it is Him who calls us to this new Law, it is fair for Him to provide us with the model by which we are called to love Him and to love one another, and the motivation for us to do so.
Because, among many many other things that He accomplishes, the Holy Spirit is the one by whom:
God grants us a new heart (John 3 :2-5)
God teaches us how to pray (Romans 8 :26-27)
God teaches all things (John 14 :26)
God seals us for heaven (Ephesians 1 :13)
God sets us free from worldly passions (2 Corinthians 3 :17 ; Galatians 5 :26-17)
God enable us to love Him and to love one another (Romans 5 :5)
God enables us to overcome sin (Romans 8 :2)
God enables us to bear good fruits (Galatians 5 :22-25)
A side note that some might find controversial. With his new Law and the New Covenant, the Christ did not totally abrogate the dietary laws and customs laws that were present in the old Law. Christ made them just less binding compared to the Law of love. So, they can be implemented as long as the Law of love is not compromised. Let suppose that a true Christian (guided by God’s Spirit) is invited in a Jewish community that abides to all the laws of the Torah, the Law of love might require that this Christian follow suit or not depending on what the Holy Spirit wish to accomplish, to address that community's deepest needs (salvation, healing, unity, addressing the issue of pride and so on)
With the Law of love, the motivations to implement the dietary and customary laws are all brought to the assessment of the holy Spirit.

The Prophet of Nazareth by Evan Powell Meredith (1864) is a tome worth obtaining.
Meredith examines the prophetic nature of Jesus's words; and makes an interesting conclusion!
What is the conclusion ?
@@alexanderv7702 I see. Are you mad at me?
@@alexanderv7702 I apologize for any misunderstanding that I may have caused.
Exactly my initial thought..why would God bother to prohibit eating pork and other commandments when He knew very well that Christians would abandon them..my Christian bros and sis should really think hard about this , real hard ..
They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."
Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and for him we are submitting.
Isn't the ayah should end with "Sami'naa wa atho'naa..." Which means "We hear and obey..."?
Correct me if I'm wrong
@@zaihanrifki3428 no, these are Aya 135 and 136 from Sura Al Baqarah (the cow), I think you are referring to another Aya in the same Sura.

Thanks. That was a very interesting book review and summary.
How sure are we that people can NOT convert to judaism? Is that firmly rooted in Old Testament?
Asalamualaikum Paul, I am interested and passionaten in learning into comparative religions, is there a book you can recommend for a beginner
What the Bible really teaches? In summary: Paradise lost in Genesis, Paradise recovered in Revelation, and everything in between is the story of God redeeming His people from sin, culminating at the cross of Christ.

what makes me wonder from christianity is, they believe Paul of tarsus was an apostle even though they also know that this person never met Jesus during Jesus's ministry.. But on top of that from my own calculation i couldn't blame Paul for this confusion because i am very sure that those text weren't written by Paul himself it was somebody else's writing but labeled as Paul's writing
Hi there, I am trying to understand and appreciate the videos. I have one question. What about Matthew 15:11 where Jesus says "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them"
Doesn't this go against the Torah and what this theologian is saying in this video?
I would love to hear what you think about this
Kind regards
'Doesn't this go against the Torah' - no it doesn't. Remember the context is Jewish and Jesus usually taught hyperbolically.
@@tombuddy100 Lol. The point is that Christians follow it. It's to use as material to call others to Islam
@@HilyahAsSalaf Either stop claiming it is "corrupted", or stop quoting from it in a desperate attempt to "support" Islam.
If anything, the Bible exposes Islam. Here are some verses about Muhammad and Islam:
Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
Matthew 24:11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:26
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Galatians 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
@@tombuddy100 You seem to not be reading what I'm saying and just parroting the same thing that all of the anti-Islamic UA-camrs say.
@@HilyahAsSalaf ...and you are parroting the same thing that anti-Christian UA-camrs say.
When I was 16-17, around 1961-62, I used to ask very stupid questions to our local Catholic priest as well as to my very friendly Catholic neighbours! We went to College together! One of those questions was:
Jesus preached WHITE and Paul, who never knew Jesus, was NO apostle of Jesus and found guilty of persecuting followers of Jesus and even having them killed, preached BLACK, and you are telling us both religions were the same? All the answers given by the priest proved that Paul had invented a new religion, an anti-Christ religion justified by the abolition of the Law, the invention of New Covenants, of a New Israel in heaven, and of Jesus himself!
BAFS
Decadent Christendom invented a New Israel on Earth in 1948, stole Palestine, and gave it to Apartheid Israel on Earth! WOW!
I have been looking to buy Message of Quran and Yusuf Ali Quran from UK. Can't get a new copy of it. Do you have any idea Paul where to buy these two best Quran translations of 20th century?
Have you tried Amazon?
Off-topic, but in your humble opinion, which of the following two books would you say is better?
1.Forgery and Counterforgery
2. Who’s Word Is It
SubahanAllah.. an amazing video. The Christians changed their religion, they changed the teaching of Jesus pbuh .. and still they defend the change.
This is the reason Allah swt sent prophet Muhammad saws- because God's message was corrupted by the Christians.
Isaiah 66, verse 17 says that on judgment day, those who eat unclean foods (including pork) will be in a lot of trouble.
