I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. You and I did my first clutch job together over the weekend. Your guidance was invaluable; saved me a ton of $$. Thank you, friend.
This Is one of the best clutch installs for infinity/370Z It helped me in my buddy figure out a bunch of hurdles on my Z, good information thanks for the help buddy! Today we mate the engine back to the trans, I hope it's as easy as you made it look!
Just did my 2010 G37S Sedan clutch thanks to both videos bro, thank you so much man, you saved me a LOT. Car started up perfect, no noises and no lights. Stage 2 Exedy clutch with CMAK KIT!
Excellent video man! You covered it in detail with good camera angles. This is my second time watching this now and I'm just prepping for the time when mine goes out.
I watched this a few times but never commented, I will now. It is a good video, the only thing I would have liked to see was the removal of the Top Two bolts on the Trans. I have a 2011 G37s that I am going to upgrade the Clutch, Flywheel and Pressure Plate and Bearing.
Good job describing the work, quite detailee, makes me wanna tackle this also. My clutch pedal feels a little crunchy near the bottom. Hope it's not a slave cylinder problem. Keep up the good work and informative videos.
This guide has been incredibly useful so far, I've subscribed. Unfortunately, I've gotten all the bolts off and I can't seem to get my transmission to come unmated from the engine. Do you have any ideas on what I should do about this? The side where the starter is came off with a little prying, and now unfortunately the passenger side of the car won't come loose. Thank you!
I have about 180,000 miles on my G37 it’s a 2009. I was going to change the transmission fluid at 60,000 but infinity wouldn’t do it because of liability. The transmission clutch still works but I was wondering should I just go ahead and replace the clutch pads? I’m guessing from the stories I hear if I try to change the transmission fluid the transmission would stop working. And how much would a shop charge to do A clutch plaid replacement?
Great vid. Are the slave cylinders as bad as everyone says? Any way to help extend the life of it beyond running high temp dot 4 fluid? How many miles before yours failed?
Hello Alex, thanks for this video, helped me a lot, but i have a quick question, does it have any gasket or o ring where you conect the pipes in the clutch slave?? Bc mine is leaking a lot of liquid there.
Damm I wish I would of been able to chime in before you replaced and bought your Clutch I’ve heard good things of southbend but I went with Stage 2 Action Clutch Heavy Duty Slave and lighten flywheel and it grabs so good I’m certain the south bend is a great buy tho!
Good video. Just subscribed to ur channel. 4:50 yeah, i think nissan/infiniti used blue thread lock on their g35/7 oem shift knobs...it's almost impossible to remove the knob without destroying it..
Just need to vise grip the shaft below the large rubber boot and use one of those rubber strap wrenches on the shift knob until the adhesive gives. I just did it on mine yesterday. No damage at all.
Hey alex! Im actually in the process of replacing my clutch/flywheel and Have CMAK csc delete. Transmission is already out and just waiting on parts but i had a question about the Crank Position sensor i didnt take mine out, its still in there. Should i just disconnect it? Or could i just leave it?
Hey Alex, Around 17:15, you said that the reason why you did all that work was because of the slave. How did it feel or how did you know of all things that the slave went bad?
Alex, I’ve got an 08 coupe and the flywheel bolts seem to be seized. I’ve tried 1/2 impact and breaker bar with PB Blaster to help but nothing is seeming to work. Any suggestions? Thanks
Andrew Cortes i got those off my 370 z thru the hood behind the engine i just put the socket on first from the bottom then i climbed on the strut tower and reached down a long breaker bar or pipe helps alot
NvrMnd , got them shits from up top with a foot&½ long ¾in ratchet .... that big fat harness loom was allll in the way (could figure out how to unsnap it) .... thanks for your vid!! Gave me a more direct approach !!!

Long overdue, just want to say thank you for sharing this video. Helped me through out my entire project.
Dropping the transmission sounds intimidating.... I can't wait to see it!

Terrific job and terrific tutorial.

Should've mentioned some of the sizes of the bolts/plugs for the people who arent prepared with all the proper tools
How were you guys able to get the top two bolts out from the transmission?
Damm I wish I would of been able to chime in before you replaced and bought your Clutch I’ve heard good things of southbend but I went with Stage 2 Action Clutch Heavy Duty Slave and lighten flywheel and it grabs so good I’m certain the south bend is a great buy tho!
Fitness_with_ Nappy how's the chatter? Not too bad?
It’s not to bad it’s there but i can live with it gets louder some days other than others but I can’t complain
Does crank sensor need to be removed during transmission drop or did you just remove it?

Hey Alex,

And hey while you're in there take care of the clutch's master cylinder. (Speaking from the future here....) ;)
any way you still got that spare manual trans and are trying to sell it??
Alex, I’ve got an 08 coupe and the flywheel bolts seem to be seized. I’ve tried 1/2 impact and breaker bar with PB Blaster to help but nothing is seeming to work. Any suggestions? Thanks
might need to heat them up.
This is exactly the same as the g37s coupe?
I'm trying to do a 7at swap to a 6mt do you know if it will fit?
You never explained how you got the two top 17 mm bolts out
Andrew Cortes i got those off my 370 z thru the hood behind the engine i just put the socket on first from the bottom then i climbed on the strut tower and reached down a long breaker bar or pipe helps alot
If you had to change the rear main seal how would you take it out and reinstall it?
Seal puller to remove then put the new one in using the old seal against it to help seat it
@@kova_motive Do you use any oil on it or does it go in dry?
Dude.... how’d you get to the 2- 17mm’s at top of bellhousing ?
NvrMnd , got them shits from up top with a foot&½ long ¾in ratchet .... that big fat harness loom was allll in the way (could figure out how to unsnap it) .... thanks for your vid!! Gave me a more direct approach !!!
How long did this take you ?
Ok so if I'm gonna change my clutch i might as well throw out my old exhaust and change the shift knob too lmao.
Exactly haha.
What did you use to remove the top transmission bolts?
1/2 inch driver with a short extension and 17mm socket.
Like a 2in extension? I have tried am impact driver with two six inch extensions and a impact knuckle. Not budging. How long was your ratchet?
How do you remove the clutch line
Alex, you must have a sore neck! Keep up the great videos, also is the G trans the same as the 370 trans?
I did! Quite annoying doing it on the ground haha. Yes the 6mt on the G37 and 370 are the same.
anyone know what tools exactly i would need to do my clutch job g37s coupe
Its easy the problem is the fucking shifter and shift-knob.
