Starting at number 4 and going backwards is the one thing I've been so confused on, I have always tried to start at 1 and go up but it doesn't work that way. Took me watching this video over and over that you HAVE to do this in certain order which in today's world is kinda outdated. I know a lot of people that use this app and it seems to have been forgotten about by Chauvet especially since the BT series came out with all the fancy pre-programs in it. PLEASE re-visit this app and give it some much needed upgrades.

Thank you ... now let's update the UI. The scroll wheel is a bit unwieldy even for small fingers. Would work better with a pop up at the bottom of the screen. Or ability to type in a number.

Based on this video, it looks to me that if you want to change the color of only light #4, for example, you have to also then go and reset the colors you had for the other lights? Is this correct? Seems like a pretty cumbersome way of programming if you ask me...
If you made this software so you could build your own profiles you would corner the market on dmx controllers.. I would love to use this to control my moving heads and other fixtures.

Ok i love this product i have the FlareCON and i been waiting for them to come up with all these new features.... However i been wanting to know if chauvet sales just the battery for 2 of my lights they don't hold the power anymore they need to be plugged in and it really fustrates me because these things are not cheap, please chauvet i know its in your benefit that this happens but if you really care for your customers please share how to fix my lights....
Yes we do. We have a parts store where we sell all our parts for those customers who are a little more tech savy than others and like to repair fixtures on their own. Incredible product! I'm ordering 12 Hex-4's with the FlareCON in a couple of weeks. Can you create a desktop / laptop software that works with the FlareCON app? A simple GUI to allow us to create shows quicker and easier to then be imported to our FlareCON app for live use? That would be super cool.
I'm aware of that. I could use ShowXpress with the Xpress 512 going into the FlareCON Air.. but I don't want to use two laptops at a private event. I'm a single mobile DJ / MC that wants something compact and portable. I love the concept of using the FlareCON App with my iPod (the same iPod I would use to play music during Cocktail Hour at a wedding). Using ShowXpress would be an ideal solution, but we would need a way to export the files we create to the FlareCON app for live use. Or perhaps you could create a FlareCON app version for Desktop / Laptop, so that we can more quickly and easily create custom colors and shows using our keyboard and mouse. I love the portability of the FlareCON App for triggering sequences, but ultimately a laptop or desktop GUI is quicker and easier to use for programming. I'll pay extra for ShowXpress.. but I don't want to use two laptops while DJing (1 for music and 1 for lighting). My 2nd laptop is my backup music laptop.
Hi Rick, Great demo of using the FlareCon Air and the Freedoms.....I been trying to achieve the same set up using 8 Hex'. But, Unfortunately i must be missing a step. I'm trying to using 3 colors to do this but they all keep fading together and not in a bouncing effect. any suggestions...?

I'm very new here,,, and confused - When you say "these are not all addressed to #1" and then you list each address... what does this mean? How/why do you address them differently, but it's listed as #1 on the app. And how do you know which one is addressed to which number? I'm so confused. Thanks for any help!

He is referring to DMX channels within the FlareCON app. In his example Rick sets the first light to "#1" as it is a 10 channel DMX, the next number would be "#11" and so on (as each fixture uses 10 channels). I cannot get this to work with my tri par 6's. I can get to the point where they all turn the same colour, but when I change the count wheel to the next number and change the colour it changes them all again. Do I have the wrong setting on each unit? I cannot find any support for these online. Please help!!

I don't understand the address change. Why put each light on a diff address but you don't change it in the app? I'm dmx stupid. I have freedom h1. I got this to work once but can not duplicate it.
DJ KJ, the address changes allow for more advanced programing. In the beginning stages its ok to leave all lights on channel 1 and use the app to control the lights as one large group. As you're familiarity with DMX grows, the ability to change addresses on your unit will become more needed for your advanced applications. i have a odd question. would you be abke to make a show with different fixtures. what I mean is right now I am using the freedom quad 5s and the hexs can I set a show with both fixtures or does it have to be only one?
Short answer is It can do both, even more. When setting your DMX addresses keep like fixtures grouped together. For example in the video I have the Freedom Par Quad 4 IPs set to DMX adresses 1, 11, 21 and 31 in 10 channel mode so my next available DMX address would be 41. Now you would address the first unit of the next type of fixture to DMX address 41. Address those units according to the personality you want to use. During the programming phase the Address wheel now comes into play. The count wheel is the number of units of one type you have addressed in series. The Address wheel will be the starting DMX address of that group of fixtures. So when programming select the proper profile then the starting DMX address of that group and use the count wheel as show in this video. More videos to come.
Why can't the software specifically address a single unit at a time? As in the video, if I want to change just unit 3, I have to go back and reprogram 1 and 2 as well?
Technically it can. Your count wheel would be at 1 and you would select the needed DMX channel with the address wheel. The issue is you have to be spot on when you select the DMX address. So if you if you don't stop the address wheel right on the correct starting channel for light number 3 it could change what you have on fixture 2 or 4 dependent of what channel you stop on. As with any product in development changes will be made moving forward to increase ease of use and simplicity. For the show created in the video I really didn't need to use 4 lights individually addressed I could simply set 2 units to channel 1 and two units to channel 11 and set them up alternately and created the same effect in half the time. We always welcome your feedback to help us with your needs so we can make our products better. This app is still in its infancy and will continue to get updates. We are already working on revisions and look to DJ's like yourself for more feedback on what your needs and wants are.

I'm so frustrated. I've spent a couple of days trying to program my lights to know avail. And I'm a programmer. This app is so counter-intuitive and I'm ready to pull my (and Rick's) hair out. I'm trying to program 2x 4barTri-USBs and 4x Slim Par Pro H USB. What should I do???
Once I have your attention: when I use the FlareCON, there are lapses of the Wi-Fi signal received by the USBs every few minute (even on channel 16. On earlier channels it's worse). When the USB reconnects, the light momentarily blinks. Would Chauvet consider a firmware update that would prevent the light from blinking? It is a unacceptable in a live professional setting. (Is a firmware update even possible on these products?)
Alright everyone...I have just spent many hours with this system.....If you think this is the holy grail...well you are in for a big disappointment. I had very high hopes for this product. I own all D-Fi enabled Chauvet lights and bought the Flarecon Hub to program my show....Here is what I discovered. There is NO WAY to program a nice slow fade to black preset. My #1 thing I need and anyone thinking they would use this with their band....well just understand all you can do it is shut off the lights. Boom....no fade..Can you say oversight of the century? Oh and perhaps you are thinking you could make a nice light show with all your Chauvet D-Fi lights....wrong again. You can only send DMX messages to one type of fixture per step. So for anyone who has more than one type of fixture....ha ha ha the jokes on you. No way no how. The oversight of the millennium. At this point in its development I would give this app a D - or no stars out of 5. BTW this video does not agree with another You Tube video put out by Chauvet that tells you to set all your similar fixtures to dmx address 01. Also when trying to save my show steps 50% of the time the save would fail. Is this a prototype disguised as a product? I will predict your return rate will be the highest of any product you have sold.....This Flarecon Air is WORTHLESS without a workable app.
