When I was around 7 or 8, my uncle bought a 323, but the generation before this, on a W plate if I remember correctly and in beige. He'd previously only ever bought Ford's, from a Popular being his first car, then a Cortina MK2 1600GT, followed by a MK3 2000GXL. Both Cortinas were bought new, and both much loved. But then came the car the GXL was traded in for, a gold 1978 Capri 2.0S, which unfortunately turned out to be the most unreliable pile of crap imaginable. From about six months old until the day he finally had enough of it it never ran right, and it literally spent more time back at the main dealer than it did in his own garage. Two new carbs, then a new distributor, new cam, followed by a full head rebuild and finally a brand new engine. By this time, he was sick of it, and although he'd never had any problems with his previous Ford's, the ordeal with the Capri was enough to make him change brands, going for the 323. And he could never praise this car highly enough and often said it was the best one he'd ever had. But he obviously forgave Ford a few years later though, as he swapped the Mazda for an XR3I, which was later swapped for an XR2I.

This car never moved from the garage since 1991. Dry garage , never run or started. Only tyres replaced. This is as good as it looks .
