honestly, the whole "coming back from the dead" narrative is such a great marketing tool for a BEETLEJUICE musical that I'm half convinced it was planned all along.

@@ridiaraspberry4095 sure, so you know the scaffolding that surrounds the stage? At the end of The World Was Wide Enough Hamilton is in the middle of the scaffolding facing back. This entire story has been epic to watch, like the little guy finally stood up for themselves and won. I'm really excited to see the show return to Broadway!

I was actually able to talk to one of the members of the national tour, and found out that the show is paced in a way that you are only allowed to clap at 3 moments: after Welcome to the Rock, after Screech in, and at the end of the show. The reason for this is because all of the actors and musicians have a sort of clicker inside of their ears because the producers wanted to strictly keep the show's runtime at 100 minutes.
To that end, the applause at the few points you CAN clap is absolutely insane. When I saw the national tour, I've never seen a faster standing ovation than at the blackout after the finale going into bows.
The earpieces also serve to allow the performers to hear the music. Since the orchestra is behind them onstage this makes it difficult for a performer to hear, this also makes it difficult to put in monitor speakers for the performers to hear which is what they normally do when the orchestra is in the pit. So in this case the earpieces make sense, they do the same thing for Six.
I'm holding out getting too excited until they announce the cast. Alex will almost certainly come back but with Sophia leaving before everything happened, I'm worried about who they'll find to replace her; she was THE perfect lydia with that dismissive inflection. Her replacement last time wasn't bad but she was too peppy for the role.

I was almost happy that I was watching it in the comfort of my own living room so i didn't subject other audience members to my bawling.
I've seen more shows than I can count or remember on Broadway and out here in California. I saw Sweeney Todd three times on Broadway and it is still the greatest show I've ever seen. Guess what number 2 is? It's Come From Away. We saw its National Tour production in San Francisco in 2019. It is an incredible show, which like you said Kat, zooms by. The fact there's no intermission and only two natural applause breaks means that we the audience sat here with our emotions about 9/11 and our appreciation reaching a bursting point. When the last note was sounded, we all literally leaped to our feet as one, wildly applauding, whooping and stomping out feet as the band played on stage. I've seen it described as a spontaneous explosion of an ovation and that it is. I've never experienced anything like it and that includes Hamilton twice. The pro shoot on Apple + is gorgeous and wonderful but whether it's on Broadway or a national touring company if you are able to see the show live on stage, do it. It's an experience that you never forget.
Im a little sad it seems like the old cast doesn’t seem to be coming back since they have an open (well, open equity) casting call for all leads but Im just happy its coming back! (And im totally auditioning)
I saw Beetlejuice in DC during it's tryout and then didn't see it on Broadway but have heard that there were cuts and new additions from when I saw it. I really enjoyed the show and laughed a lot and thought that the cast was great, especially Alex and Sophia. I'm surprised that it didn't do better on Broadway but knew that some critics were very harsh. I'm glad that it is getting a second chance. As for Come From Away, I saw that the summer of 2019 at the Schoenfeld and was very blown away by the show. I was already familiar with it, having the Cast Recording. Watched it on Apple+ and cannot stop recommending it to everyone. You are correct in saying that it was exceptionally well filmed and the cast is amazing. Thank you for this addition to your channel. Very good episode.
I think you’re right about Beetlejuice being a gateway drug to musical theater. During quarantine my family started listening to the soundtrack nonstop and we were heartbroken thinking we missed the opportunity to see it live. Then the announcement of it’s resurrection was announced and we purchased our tickets for Beetlejuice this summer! It will the first time the kids, my husband and myself ever see a play on actual Broadway! 🤩
I'm so glad this show is getting a second chance at life. If I recall correctly, Urinetown didn't exactly close, it was also evicted from its theatre, and it just never found a second home. I think that's what happened
I'm honestly super excited about it coming back! I love Beetlejuice sooo much! I was so sad when it closed and I'm so happy they're bringing this amazing show back
First- I REALLY REALLY hope this means Beatlejuice gets a proshot. We cannot afford New York, and I've spent my quarantine gobbling up proshots and adaptations. Second- I maybe cried all through the proshot of Come From Away. I don't know, maybe it was knowing where we were as a country 20 years later. Maybe it was realizing that I personally had a good quarantine, and I relate to these characters having a good experience after 9/11. Maybe it's just knowing this was the very first thing that got 9/11 for most of the country. We weren't at Ground Zero, but we felt it. We knew it. We lived it in our own way. I'm also excited for UA-camrs like you, because it's going to give you content, and you are good at what you do and deserve the ad revenue and viewers.

I am super excited for the show to come back, and still really want to come out and have it be one of the first shows I’ve seen on actual Broadway in New York, but that really depends on the cast.

reaction to beetlejuice coming back: internally screaming for at least an hour+ and then sending a bunch of friends that it's coming back in all caps
To say I sobbed when I found out about Beetlejuice was coming back is an understatement
I’m excited for the cast reveal!! Would love for a newcomer to play Lydia!
I volunteer as a tribute lol
I personally would love to see Presley ryan get a least a bit of a run before they change lydia out again. I felt so bad that her run was cut short :(
@@taylorftnjh yeah same they should let her get a proper final performance as the rest of them should aswell
I just figured this out now and I'm so happy!! The first time I heard the show was back on broadway was 3 minutes ago. IM SOOO EXCITEDDD!! I hope pressley is cast.

I saw Beetlejuice on Broadway for the first time at the at the marquee theater September 17, 2022. It was amazing and then I saw it twice on tour downtown Detroit Michigan and third time Florida so I sing Beetlejuice the musical three times Broadway, New York Detroit, Michigan, Florida, West Palm Beach, so I sent it three times it’s amazing. Great show and I dressed up for it twice Detroit, Michigan in Florida.
You know what, I live in MT, and I've always been a musical nerd, but never really had the means to travel to NY to go to a show live, but if Beetlejuice is really coming back, I'm not letting the chance slip by again!
i cried when i heard beetlejuice was coming back. if that doesn’t tell you how much i love that show i don’t know what will.
I’m super excited that Beetlejuice is back because I just got into the fandom and this resurrection means that maybe I will be able to see it live! (Which would be a huge dream of mine)
I just saw it today and it was pretty packed and LOUD! I can’t imagine they’re not bringing in pretty good sales
I´m so hyped about Beetlejuice returning to Broadway, I hope that because of the Broadway return they decide to continue in the process of opening the show around the world!!

hi kat!! i'm really excited bc after not being able to do any shows my senior year of hs due to covid, i tried out for my college's production of the winter's tale and got cast as perdita!!! i didn't realize how much i missed being in a room of chaotic theatre kids rehearsing 😂
I let out an unholy scream of joy when they announced they were coming back. I’m so happy. 🙌🏻🥰 I was going to the original closing night, so I’m grateful I’ll get the chance to see it finally!
Excited to know that Beetlejuice is returning!! Honestly i'm just really happy that broadway is back
I loved this show! Big Eddie Perfect fan!
Me and the Sky always hits me
I really believe that Kat single handedly saved Beetlejuice by screaming Alex Brightman in her bathroom
While in theory I want to watch the Come From Away pro-shot, my roommate was watching it within my vicinity for multiple days and now I just don’t know whether I have it in me. Glad that you liked it! I’m sure I’ll get around to it eventually.
i'm really happy that beetlejuice is coming back, i mean i'm not gonna be able to see on broadway BUT the show is going to be produced here em Brazil next year so... yeah i'm really excited!!!
Name the codfish...Captain James Hook. I mean, Broadway people and bookworms will understand. 😃
I am super excited for the show to come back, and still really want to come out and have it be one of the first shows I’ve seen on actual Broadway in New York, but that really depends on the cast.
I got to see Come From Away on broadway in 2018 with the original cast and to this day it one of my favorite things I've ever done in my entire life
Best musical redemption story EVER💜💚🖤
Love your vids!
I’d love your opinion on the shows that are on in the west end as it reopens! Frozen, back to the future, long running musicals that are struggling because of the lack of tourists… 😊✨
