While we can educate on better options of a diet without gaining weight, it would still depend on them to choose to follow it or not. However, I'm not qualified to do that. But I would really hope that someone who does know about nutrition and meals suggest something for them.

They’d have me working out nonstop if I got my period... I gain like 4 - 7kg for a few days. But for their daily weigh ins, if they aren’t eating, you won’t gain weight the same day from working out/rehearsing. It takes time for muscle to build, plus they will lose water weight through sweating between coming in and leaving. Still, if agencies want to be picky about the size of their idols, it should be based on measurements and possibly BMI, not weight.

The one Americano for three months makes me want to cry. And I honestly understand because she is just trying to keep her job and I feel a sense of irony that we enjoy her performances with the H.U.B. and in the unit but has to go through all. And the morning and night weigh-ins make no sense because looking for a change after the day doesn't actually mean gaining fat. And it's normal to fluctuate a few pounds per day. And I always wonder why they don't hire a good nutritionist because if you want to lose a lot weight then a tailored diet plan and changing it depending on how your body responds is best. Sorry I am just always shocked on how so many companies want their idols to starve, going on a diet and starving are two different things.

A lot of idols either dream and aren't aware of this side of Kpop before experiencing it (hearing is different from actually being in the situation) or don't have much choice but to bear it for their family or themselves. The pros of being successful are pretty luring. The thing is how to get there when companies are just producing idol after idol and even great talented ones are forgotten or don't make it big.

I knew Korean music companies put a lot of pressure on idols but WOW. They should right a book on 'How to develop an eating disorder' as a job description. I am so sick and tired of idols no matter how big or small being put to this kind of pressure where they have to meet a weight. What about height, muscle weight, being bloated etc? These girls and boys work hard to make so little money for themselves or their families. In the meantime companies make billions off of them whilst also teaching them all these bad habits and expectations. This angers me. It's unfair. What can we do to change this so they have a healthy relationship with food and dont stress about being shamed for gaining weight?

I saw somewhere that even Soyou( formerly from Sistar) said that diets aren't healthy and that you just wind up gaining the weight back.

I knew Korean music companies put a lot of pressure on idols but WOW. They should right a book on 'How to develop an eating disorder' as a job description. I am so sick and tired of idols no matter how big or small being put to this kind of pressure where they have to meet a weight. What about height, muscle weight, being bloated etc? These girls and boys work hard to make so little money for themselves or their families. In the meantime companies make billions off of them whilst also teaching them all these bad habits and expectations. This angers me. It's unfair. What can we do to change this so they have a healthy relationship with food and dont stress about being shamed for gaining weight?
