Actually you can eat the cempedak seeds. Just boil them, they v nutty. As for tepung pelita, scoop it together with the green layer. They are meant to be eaten together. Eating the white layer only is incorrect.
If they fry the chempedak well, you can just bite the cempedak flesh WITH the seed without boiling it. It will be a blend of nutty and sweet fruity flavour. I'd say the nutty taste will balance out the sweetness.
One of the reasons Muslims do fasting is to deepen and understand the feelings and conditions of the poor community who live hungry or do not have food. Therefore we will feel grateful to God and want to help the poor community. For example, we will understand how the Gaza/Palestinian citizens feel.

bukan bubur pisang tapi “pengat pisang”, kalau guna ubi keledek kita akan call it “pengat ubi” becoz ada texture. Tapi if texture like pulut hitam/kacang hijau, gandum then only we call them “bubur”, tiny texture. But semua using coconut milk + gula melaka , daun pandan to begin with.

I think if your parents cant stand the heat, better bring them to dine in air conditioned restaurant. My place has not received even single rain drop for this past two weeks which is really unusual and out of the norm. Lets hope the heatwave do not last long.
