This video could be used in a classroom for mechanics. It is perfect. Allen, next time you pinch a cupcake put the lid back more gently. She heard that I'm sure of it.
It’s very therapeutic watching Alan carefully reassemble engines he makes it look so simple and like you could easily do it too -but of course 90% of us can’t 😅
it amazes me how much alans hydraulic pump sound s like me missus 😁one cake one robin , one hedgehog glad to see the TV stardom hasn't gone to your head i would guess the pigeon is my late mate dougie who said he would come back as one , and he loved a good shed
No Millyard video would be complete without the requisite cupcake, cup of tea and local wildlife appearances. For me, it’s these little touches that make Alan’s stellar videos so wonderful and unique. I smile every time I watch one 😁.
My blood pressure drops to a safe level while watching this channel. Because of the public health benefits, these videos save taxpayers money all over the world.
Always check that the gears work before installing the engine….that brings back memories of when I rebuilt a Honda FT500C and didn’t do that check! Engine in…and pretty much straight back out again!
Great video love to see the old classic being rebuilt, I used to race a 1981 KDX 250 B1 Enduro in the early 80s brought back some fond memories thanks, 🙂👍
My favourite bird is the wood pigeon (ring dove). I live in Wisconsin now and I do miss them....and fresh ! Yorkshire haddock and chips.. Never mind, Heathrow here I come in August ! Chicago-Heathrow ticket is bought !
I love everything about this video! The super-close camera work, showing the simplest of things like nipping up a screw, are so satisfying to watch. The regular inclusion of the wildlife, tea drinking and cake stealing add a wonderfully warm element to your videos too 😊 And I love it when make observations about Tracey doing mysterious things - like "she sort of pokes the stick through..." - that cracked me up!
First time I've seen any of your videos Allen, It was just a joy to watch, I rebuilt my 1983 IT175 last year and wish I'd seen this superb tutorial first, it would of saved a lot of grief but hey you learn only by the mistakes you make. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 79 RM 125 at the moment and this video has given many invaluable tips and also inspiration. Thank You.
Good day sir ! I just watched your six carb clean and test for the red super 6 ! Such perseverance is a rare attribute ! Your attention to detail and immersion into every stage of construction is only impressive if we get to see your biscuit tin in your kitchen or the lawn mower next to your shed. To watch any of your vids awakens a certain tranquillity. Most of the time, i'm In awe ! Anyway...? Oh i'll be pressing play then ✊️👉🙄🤣
Reminds me of my own KDX in the early eighties. I'm not the tallest of people and there would always be an audience to watch me execute a sort of Fosbury flop onto the seat and then hold the bike vertical with toes extended.....happy days!
Watching this video of Alan's crank rebuild reminded me of my dear departed Dad.. He once bought a Montesa 348 which we took for a test ride at a local disused RAF airfield where people had been dumping piles of unwanted topsoil and rubble for years. Unfortunately, when it came to my turn it seized up absolutely solid and I really felt sick for having wrecked Dad's new (to him) trials bike.. At least we thought it had seized, but when we got it apart it turned out that the crank pin was too loose a fit in the flywheels - to solve this, in the past some engineering genius had ARALDITED the pin into the flywheels !! - This bodge did actually hold until I had revved it hard to go up a steep incline, then the flywheels had spun out of alignment and jammed in the crankcases.. It was still a pain to fix (Montesa parts weren't easy to get at the time..) but at least I didn't feel quite so guilty !!..
It would be so nice to see a similar video series about replacing all bearing, seals, valve guides and rings etc etc for a Harley Shovelhead motor… I have 3 of these bikes and would love a guide to this work by Allen…
watching you work on the bike brings back fond memories of my Honda cb 200 that I got when I passed my test in Kendal over 40 years ago, wish I still had it.
“Thank you for watching”, says Allen. Well, “thank you for giving us something interesting to watch”, says me. Always look forward to your cupcake fuelled tinkerings.
All Allen's videos speak of his prodigious knowledge and complete familiarity with all things around engines and motorcycles. Add to that, the meticulous attention to the smallest detail... I have pen and paper ready with every video, and I've learned so much that I am now willing, and feel able, to tackle the restoration of my 1984 Honda VT500C. Thank you for that, Allen! Looking forward to future videos!
First off I think you are brilliant and I really enjoy your videos. I owned a Kawasaki, KTM Dealership and worked on bikes 50 yrs, a trick an older friend that owned a machine shop and built 1,000s of bike engines taught me. On engines that the main bearing and seal goes in the case from the inside so you can't heat the bearing to expand it so the crank falls in because of the seal. He would make a pin diameter of the crank stepped so it couldn't go into the bearing far enough to touch the seal. Heat the pin set it on the bearing as the bearing expands the pin drops in, remove the pin and the crank will fall right into the bearing. In no way do I know more or am as talented as you just a trick I learned that made bike engine rebuilding easy.
Love the sound and smell of a Two Stroke, one of the best parts of European holidays are the screaming two stroke mopeds still ripping around the towns!
Allen you're a natural great engineer, a gentleman and a gentle human being, attributes to which we should all aspire. Thankyou for this, another perfect presentation.
Alan Millyard: Fantastic engineer, TV personality, all round good bloke and professional cake thief 😁. Yes. lets see how she goes, and whilst you're at it, how about you have a go at cake baking? That would be fun seeing you being instructed by your good lady.
Hello Allen, good to see that little motor back together so sweetly. Sounded great, wish I could smell it! Cakes and tea on tap, you have a great lady there. Cheers Kevin.
Hey Allen 🙂 I really enjoyed watching you rebuild ur Kawasaki 200 Dirt Bike. Your alot like me when u do things. Your a real professional. 😀 Thank you.
Love this. Reminds me of when I was rebuilding my CRM250! Long live the 2 stroke enduro bike! Allen, your vids are fantastic! Thank you so much and please keep em comin! Absolutely fantastic!
That little engine is so nicely engineered and easy to overhaul.... well at least you make it look easy as you have such economy of effort, a true craftsman!
Ah, the genius that is Allen Millyard. My favourite YT channel. Always educational, thoroughly entertaining and oddly therapeutic. Every episode is greatly anticipated. 👍👍👍
I'm quite happy you were able to source the parts you needed. You're not lying, anything NOS is getting near impossible to get for Japanese machines as of late.
I am doing a Kawasaki KT250, my first bike project. Amazingly I was able to get a few NOS parts locally, supplied in little plastic bags, still with original Kawasaki labels in them. A site called plenternz sells NOS parts for Japanese bikes here in New Zealand.
Ah those cup cakes again;my wife recently did a lemon drizzle which was ace Alan,I,d love to see you build a Contral Mototri 3 wheeler one day.A few years ago a Belgian guy called Anton Gonnissen built a replica of the machine that was entered in the 1907(!) Peking/Paris Rally. This broke down in the Mongolian Desert and was left where it was to be buried for eternity.Gonnissens example was entered in the 2019 event & finished! There is a film of the rally on youtube featuring the Contal. They normally had a single cylinder engine but imagine a v-twin! The front passenger(victim) would be even more terrified! A Contral would keep the Flying Millyard & Viper V10 bike company! This is probably wishful thinking but still....................! Cheers.
A friend in Italy had an Aprilia Tuareg 125cc bought for him in his 16th birthday. I was so jealous. Nice blue and yellow one. Sounded exactly like this one.
Terrific content Alan, very informative and easy to follow, you really are a talent to behold. I had one of these in 94, it had a 240 bore kit with larger carb, I powered coated the frame green with blue fork gator's and it looked fab, run very well too. Previously owned by a local Suzuki dealer in Scotland called James Hendry who raced enduro back in the day, this then sparked a life long motocross passion for me, owning many two strokes, to this day I still have two cracking CR 500s. Take care and keep providing the content 👌
Mechanical porn...well, mechanical eroticism at the very least, and the filming and editing is on the same almost unachievable level. Thank you so much Allan for your art, genius, knowledge, demeanor, dedication, and so on...What we get from you is simply priceless.👍❤
A friend of mine bought one of those new, I fell in love with it first time I rode it. When he would come up short on the monthly payment, I gladly rented it from him for a weekend or two and would clean it & do the maintenance on it while in my possession.
It is hard to imagine more peaceful life than this.
I love it when Allen says" "I'm really pleased with that".
I'll bet he's really pleased about that
This video could be used in a classroom for mechanics. It is perfect. Allen, next time you pinch a cupcake put the lid back more gently. She heard that I'm sure of it.
It’s very therapeutic watching Alan carefully reassemble engines he makes it look so simple and like you could easily do it too -but of course 90% of us can’t 😅
93%… 😉
It's nice to see him without that talentless Cole monkey 🐒 stealing the limelight !,
I sometimes ask myself if I could do this kind of stuff if I just organized my shed better, but the answer is no.
Therapeutic in many ways. I woke up feeling a bit flat but then saw there was a new and lengthy Millyard video. My day is made, thanks Alan.
Great video Allen, can’t wait to see how it goes
Something that's easily overlooked on Allens videos is how good the editing is. Top job.👍
Thankyou
Better than most high budget tv shows. The audio he gets is on another level
It takes a heck of a long time to film and edit to this standard, the camera must be in some awkward places to get the shots....always appreciated.
And only bird song.
@@atvheads Tea and bakery..!!!!! The english way.
Ahhh…the rhythmic ring-da-ding-ding-ding of an old two-stroke! Music to the ears of any ‘70s era biker. Thanks Allen!
it amazes me how much alans hydraulic pump sound s like me missus 😁one cake one robin , one hedgehog glad to see the TV stardom hasn't gone to your head

If only the pigeon, robin and hedgehogs knew what fantastic videos they were part of! Brilliant from start to finish ☺
For some unknown reason, I straight away give a thumbs-up as soon as I play the video.
You sir are the Bob Ross of motorcycle engine building.
My blood pressure drops to a safe level while watching this channel. Because of the public health benefits, these videos save taxpayers money all over the world.
That's so true. Me also
Sunday morning, Allen mucking about with a smooth-running 2-smoke: It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks Allen.
Always check that the gears work before installing the engine….that brings back memories of when I rebuilt a Honda FT500C and didn’t do that check! Engine in…and pretty much straight back out again!
What A Great Part Two! There's No Way To Know How Much Knowledge You've Shared With Other Motorcyclists & Mechanics Alike! Thank You.
Great video love to see the old classic being rebuilt, I used to race a 1981 KDX 250 B1 Enduro in the early 80s brought back some fond memories thanks, 🙂👍

You take us back in time Allen.
It's like a time machine.
That Kawasaki was like brand new again just like it was in the 80's !!!
Bravo 👏
After quite a stressful day at work, this was the perfect way to wind down the day!
Thanks Allen.
I love everything about this video!

The look , the sound , the stance of the old bikes ! Beautiful bike Sr.

Great episodes 1 and 2 Alan, and especially on an old classic like the kdx.👍
I never knew The unsung hero Allen millyard had a UA-cam channel! I just stumbled upon a little piece of heaven
Allen, I'm sure I speak for many when I say; you are my therapy 😊
When we need someone to take over David Attenborough, Allen Millyard should be at the top of the list!
I had a 1981 KDX-175, best bike i ever had!.
Reminds me of my own KDX in the early eighties. I'm not the tallest of people and there would always be an audience to watch me execute a sort of Fosbury flop onto the seat and then hold the bike vertical with toes extended.....happy days!
So nice not to have silly music, just an expert doing something really well.
Allen, you are an absolute magician. You make it look so easy which is a sign of a master. Always great videos. Thank you.
If there is ever an individual so clever and totally engaging who deserves his very own TV show its Allen, I for one would be an avid viewer... 😁
I just love the sound of a properly running 2stroke. Cacophony at its sweetest.
Bikes, birds, baking and hedgehogs; what's not to love? Allen you do our hearts good.
Watching this video of Alan's crank rebuild reminded me of my dear departed Dad.. Really enjoyed watching your rebuild. Great seeing a " proper " engineer at work. Keep up the good work Allen
keeping the 2strokes alive . nice one.
I've seen this guy make multi-cylinder engines out of sheer will of machining genius... To watch him do the KDX200 rebuild, was ultra cool. 💯2stroke🪄
Any bike with a countershaft seal that presses in from the outside is a winner in my opinion.
“Thank you for watching”, says Allen. Well, “thank you for giving us something interesting to watch”, says me. Always look forward to your cupcake fuelled tinkerings.
Really enjoying working my way through all your videos whilst I’m stuck at home having a bathroom fitted. 😀👍
Used to love that when I had my allotment, my mate the robin always came for a visit. Inquisitive little buggers
Allen Millyard's video is my nightly theraphy 😊
Excited for your test run on this KDX200!! Thank you Allen for all the great lessons in engineering.
Cheers
will be a coupe of weeks before I can start filming it
It's so cool to see Allen using ČZ chains. These are made in Strakonice, Czechia 🇨🇿
All Allen's videos speak of his prodigious knowledge and complete familiarity with all things around engines and motorcycles. Add to that, the meticulous attention to the smallest detail...

Great to see the little ‘Green Meanie’ alive and kicking again 👌🏻😎
nice to see a craftsman at work you did all the repairs the same way I used to.
Allen you're a natural great engineer, a gentleman and a gentle human being, attributes to which we should all aspire. Thankyou for this, another perfect presentation.
So relaxing watching Allen like a nice bedtime story
Make sure you film giving Guy his hat! Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
Alan Millyard: Fantastic engineer, TV personality, all round good bloke and professional cake thief 😁. Yes. lets see how she goes, and whilst you're at it, how about you have a go at cake baking? That would be fun seeing you being instructed by your good lady.
lovely little 2T engine from Kawasaki before L/C, exhaust valves, A/R CDI timing, when they were still reliable and easy to work on in the shed,
Hello Allen, good to see that little motor back together so sweetly. Sounded great, wish I could smell it!
Cakes and tea on tap, you have a great lady there.
Cheers Kevin.
Very relaxing watching an expert at work ,very entertaining.
I kept expecting an over-excited Henry Cole to gatecrash Allen's video! 🤣
Love the sound of 2 stroke. I miss my TZR 125 I had in 1990.
Thanks Allen. Therapeutically entertaining as always 😊
I must admit that I don't remember the KDX but I do recall the KX bikes. Bringing any of these older bikes back to life is great 👍
I hope when its back together you can shoot some footage while riding. One of the all time great trail bikes.
A pure genius of the ‘old school’. !
I’d love to see a video on how you do your videos. Your productions are very well done. You are a man of many talents
That little engine is so nicely engineered and easy to overhaul.... well at least you make it look easy as you have such economy of effort, a true craftsman!
A++++. Did you know that the BBC are axing Springwatch? There's always Allen's Channel. Perfect.
Lovely pleasant engine build Allen very enjoyable to watch has usual with your videos thank you for sharing them 👍
Brilliant overhaul. We look forward to seeing you shred some berms! Ah, the sweet smell of two strokes.
Ah, the genius that is Allen Millyard. My favourite YT channel. Always educational, thoroughly entertaining and oddly therapeutic. Every episode is greatly anticipated. 👍👍👍
Could watch it all day 👏🙏
Always a thumbs up from me, we'd watch you fettle anything. There's always some little tip or explanation of what your doing, or the reason why.
I'm quite happy you were able to source the parts you needed. You're not lying, anything NOS is getting near impossible to get for Japanese machines as of late.

I love the sound of two stroke engine 👂
beautiful bike and awesome work .. would love to see a riding video 📹.
this makes me feel so peaceful
Thanks Allen! A fun watch! You made my day! Now....I need to get back to work. Be good. Stay safe. Wishing you a Deluxe day!
Was just in the middle of a film 🎥 will have to wait ! Till I’ve watched Alan 😂
Thank you very much! That two stroke sound. Makes me a boy again.😍
Would love to see the bike being ridden. What a wonderful build
Cracking Enduro bike in it's day Allen, enjoyed watching your video giving the little Kawasaki the Millyard TLC treatment
Loved it, Allen, nice work as always. But you didn’t call Greta to give her a heads up before you started it! 😂
Ah those cup cakes again;my wife recently did a lemon drizzle which was ace

copper hammer = witchcraft , seriously amazing precision work
You would be a handy guy to have for a neighbor Allen
Indeed imagine what he could do to your lawn mower......supercharger nitrous oxide v12
What a beautiful explication on rebuilding this awesome vintage bike's engine !!! Thank you for the great work. Please enjoy and ride safe...
Great job Allen, you are a master at what you do! (You make it look so easy 👍😎) Thanks for the great video 🫡😎👍
Mechanical porn...well, mechanical eroticism at the very least, and the filming and editing is on the same almost unachievable level.
Thank you so much Allan for your art, genius, knowledge, demeanor, dedication, and so on...What we get from you is simply priceless.👍❤
Allen milyard a national treasure
Awesome. I thought for a moment I could smell the two-stroke oil when it fired up.
A friend of mine bought one of those new, I fell in love with it first time I rode it. When he would come up short on the monthly payment, I gladly rented it from him for a weekend or two and would clean it & do the maintenance on it while in my possession.
Brilliant, proper old school engine, reminds me of my KMX200 I used to own. 👍
You need to give Greta a call to tell her you fixed the Smokey bike.
Great vid.
I didn’t get a notification for this one 😤 oh well. The sound of her reminds me of my CR250 days OUCH❗️yeah I feel off a lot 😂👍✌️
