The speed sensor is some knowledge we need to pass on. A lot of owner operators can save thousands knowing this. Specially how expensive things are now. Glad you made it to your destination 👍🏽💪🏽
Sorry brother i just saw your message. Most of the time the derate is cause for emission problems. You should be good. Just be careful use a gps to check you mph
So the speed sensor is connected by the universal joint toward the front of the truck, under the rear of the cab. Waiting on a call from the shop, but I suspect they might have me do this. Thanks for the info. 2hrs from home, engine went into derate and regens arent working. We'll see.
Some shops share this with you, some don’t trying to get a road service or a tow or by policy to avoid legal issues. Hope you make it home safe. Don’t forget to have the gps showing your speed 👍🏽
@@backontheroaddiy Had it all the way out. Didn't work. Ended up 9 hours on the side of the road waiting on the shop to send a guy with a loaner and a wrecker to tow it back. 2 hours away and it took them 5 or more. 😮💨
It didn't work on my 2016 Freightliner cascadia. Did you shut down the engine before you pulled out the speed sensor?
Yes engine off and pulled the sensor all the way out.
It's been a very hard week. Been on a Massachusetts load for a week. They are waiting on the load and threatening to cancel the contract. Need help.
I know the feeling brother hope you were able to get there safe. It is just one of those days of the year but hey glad we get to see another day 👍🏽
I literally was stuck in Massachusetts for over a week too. I’m derated rn and took the speed sensor out and made it to NY.

How far can I drive with the speed sensor disconnected. I am about 2 hours from home broke down. Will it damage the motor?

@@backontheroaddiy Didn't work anyway. Still sitting here waiting on a wrecker from the company, and questioning my life choices.
Try removing the sensor all the way
