How To: Regen on Freightliner Cascadia

This helped me just now. I started doing the regen as I was watching your video. Solid amber regen light came on. And I was looking for physical button. 😂
Shop told me it’s gonna be a physical button. But I had the idea that it would be in the dash. But couldn’t find it.

That’s because on the older Freightliners it used to be a button. On the newer ones it’s in the dash like he shows us here

My shop at my new company - 3 people! - couldn't figure this out with my newly assigned truck ... ran shop computer over it and did it through that! All because I hadnt driven for 3 months and literally forgot where to find it. But I remembered later, and 🤦-ed myself. 😂
And they have "another truck in the shop with the same problem, emailed Freightliner, waiting on a message to come back." ? ? ?

Cascadias ssuucckk🤬🤬🤬🤬. They are built to put owner ops out of business. My truck is continually derating because of DEF issues. Cost me thousands for stupid little parts failing, like def hose, plugged doser etc. Huge road hazard when derate to 5mph out of the blue. Huge hazard to my bank account also. These trucks will ruin your life!!!!

Thank you very much for this. I've been parked, waiting for a load- truck would start a regen then keep stopping and starting. Next it shows the red and amber engine lights and I'm like wtf? I know collation doesn't equal causation but when I ran a truck with DEF disabled, I never needed to do a regen and idealed nonstop. I now drive 2015 Freightliner with DEF working normally and try not to ideal much but I constantly need a regen. I blame it on DEF

Thanks. I believe you should have said that we find this list with the engine off (just turned ignition to the right), hit OK then release it, then turn on engine. Right? Because the new cascadia doesn't have a button on the dashboard

What if def is cancelled? And it is still ordering regen?

I cannot do a parked regen . Hold the button but idle doesn’t go up . I usually put it on cruise control and raise up the rpm .

Needs to be at least 150 degrees. cycle the parking brake and push and release the clutch. Then hit the regen button till the rpm's go up. Leave the cruise control off.

@@dvincent9385 negative i’m referring to a manual transmission. I have two units , the other being an automatic works just fine . Must be a problem with the after treatment but will eventually get to the bottom of it . On highway it does regen but not fully.

Truck stops running ... we were five miles from Freightliner had to get towed .
Hopefully it won't take long to fix it was 19° last two nights .

According to Jeff, our Freightliner Rep - Green is good, Yellow means you need to do a regen, and Red means you better do a regen NOW! Thanks for the question.

Mine did too, then 10 minutes later on idle, blue box suddenly pops up out of the blue and my Truck says ... "Btw, call the waaambulance, you got too much soot up your butt, not sorry I didn't tell you before, cause I'm a Freightshaker ...
*now* it's ok to do a Regen!"
*Expect* a *lot* more than 45 minutes ... several hours.

Unfortunately, once it starts the regen you just need to let it run until it is complete. If you touch the brakes or accelerator is will abort the regen.

@@jctransporting849 Everything was froze up in the front due to freezing rain turning into ice due to the sudden temp drop. I was in Montana. Anyways the pipe that connects from the air compressor to the engine froze solid if I remember correctly. It had to be defrosted.

Prime, Inc. yes, I drive for prime. Wasn’t a problem, it fixed itself after driving for about an hour. But I had parked and saw the regen yellow light come on and I looked at the spot level on the dash and it was about half way full and still green on the bar, I attempted to do a parked regen to get rid of the warning light and it told me it was forbidden or not allowed I guess since the meter was still green it wouldn’t let me regen the truck but the dash light had come on so that’s weird.
