- Shots of the Del Mar Race train, Comic Con Train, Thanksgiving weekend/Holiday trains.. ect. In this video, you'll see shots of extended Surfliner trains, with the exception of the first train being an Amfleet set with three (3) Private Cars. All locations are between Los Angeles & San Diego, CA during 2014 & 2015.

reason why that first
clip of the dash 8 with the private car is going slow, is because they have really expensive stuff in there set up, they dont want it to fall. those private cars, if they get damaged, its over. thats hella money.

What amazing locos! It is interesting how in the USA 10-12 coach passenger trains are considered long. Here in India with the heavy demand for passenger trains 10-12 coach is a very short train. We have 24 coach long snakes here. 17-20 coaches is most common.

Why is the surf liner blowing its horn like crazy in a no horn zone?
On the evening of December 19th 1984, I was on a 15car Amtrak train that was carrying my entire Battalion from out of Fort Jackson SC. It was MANY of us on that train, those of us who was going North. We were going home for Christmas break. We had to return January 3rd.
Was that a special train just for your battalion or was it just a normal Amtrak with added cars

loganbaileysfunwithtrains yup!!!! we were all 18 and just out of high school. we were all in our Class A's and were being waited on hand and foot from workers on the train. It was a night to remember. Me and this Italian girl were the only one to get off at the 30th Street station in Philadelphia.

How come f59phis are only used on the surf liner and not other routes like the northeast coridor?
NC By Rail "NCDOT Sponsered Amtrak Commuter Service uses both F59PH and F59PHI units in a special livery. You can catch them on the Thomasville, NC Railcam
