Nice video showing options that are available. This is an emergency room . It's a room to hide in while waiting for the police or the calvary to arrive. It's not in a bad neighborhood. I'm sure it's in a posh neighborhood. Once the crooks are inside the house, there are numerous ruses to use to get inside a home. This room is a last resort. The steel mesh is a Faraday cage. It may interfere with cell signal. I would make sure there is either an exterior antenna or a communication device once locked inside. Nice video but I know it was very pricey for the bullet resistant material. A custom vest is over $ 1k$. I would have used a different design and material but nice.
Sounds like the house is in a rough neighborhood! Does the steel mesh prevent cell phones from working in the room? It seems like it might act as a Faraday cage.
1/2inch of abrasion resistant steel would stop api 50bmg and everything else 😂i mean if your going for panic/safe room dont skimp on protection wide open room 1/2 inch ar steel with 2 feet of helix steel cement on top of that nbc air system make a small living quarters think 2bedroom one bathroom bunch of bunk beds and escape tunnel
That material he just showed you is OUTTA SIGHT according to my Bf that has called we poured 1 foot thick walls with 2 custom doors filled with concrete and lots of fiber mesh it was my Bfs idea and he has done some testing on 1 foot thick poured walls he will upload it to his channel once he gets editing software.
Darn nice, until you see that they mounted the hinges to be outward swinging. I hope that the intruders only brought guns and not a battery-operated Sawzall with a metal cutting blade or two. :(
If you need this in your house that's a sign you're building in the wrong neighborhood. Living somewhere where armed burglaries don't happen is an infinitely more effective defence than an armored room in your house.

It may be weird but this is how I think and I appreciate this video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Its 2024 and 2023 was insane... Protecting ones family and ones self should be a priority no matter the environment..

I agree. Hoodlooms(?) live in that area. Average of 5 die every week. They should also provide a garage for a tank.
That’s what I was thinking.
Cool
AWESOME!
Being on the second story, is the floor protected in any way?

Wouldn’t a sledgehammer make fairly easy door breach due to the fact it is not a true vault door?
How would your construction (cost) compare to just a concrete structure?

Obviously you would install bolts on the hinge side too to secure the door from inside, duhh
@@luisazpurua1 I doubt that is the intent, otherwise, why not make a big deal about putting a metal plate on the hinge side? Duhh.

It's more useful and adds more value to the property than having a gun safe.
I don’t know if you know this, but criminals go for nice houses.
The expanded steel mesh is what grade?
