    Is it me...or does it feel like the 737-Max have waaaaaaay more thrust power on take offs? I flew on SW leaving Little Rock to Dallas love field and it felt super powerful....from Dallas to Tampa I flew on a regular 737-600 and it didnt feel so powerful on take off....in this video it seems the take off was very high speed....higher than normal..look at how fast the scenery is going by....

      This flight was on a 737-800. The MAX's are still grounded in the US.

      @@swacentral1280 I flew on one May of 2020 from KLIT TO KDAL and it was Southwest Airlines......Or did they just change to winglets on the 800 to look like max winglets? The plane i flew on had winglets pointing up and down......

      Yeah, you probably flew on an -800 with split Scimitar winglets. A handful of -700s also have Scimitars. Even though the MAX also has split winglets, they are different than Scimitars...but good news is, the MAX is officially ungrounded, so you may be on one sometime next year!

      I don’t have a doubt in my mind that the MAX has more power, however, different thrust settings are used for each takeoff, some depend on the runway length (if that’s a constraint) or the temperature outside to get the basic “sweet spot” for thrust to avoid damaging the engine with max thrust.
      The 600 you have been on may have been using a derated takeoff to reduce engine damage, and the max you could’ve been on may have used max thrust or a higher thrust setting.
      Usually it’s not really notable the difference between, so I’m willing to bet it’s an engine takeoff thrust setting

      You more than likely didn’t fly on a 737-600 there’s only one career that flies them in the US and that’s AECOM.

    ...wow, those flaps are *way* lowered! Usually only see that during final descent.

    • @ajxxi
      @ajxxi 2 роки тому

      it’s because of MDW’s relatively short runways.

      @@ajxxi ...yeah, that airport is sure 'shoehorned' in there

      Thought the same about the flaps. Id have told the attendant to tell the pilot to recheck them lol. Good to know why due to short runway

    Could you provide some information on the rules and regulations on pushback in the US? I've noticed here and on google earth that aircraft do not get pushed back on the main taxiway line?
