  • Now this time, it seriously was 1 month. But yes, the Mac MIni with M2 Pro is really, really amazing. It's surreal that one is able to get this much computing performance in a machine so compact. In that regard, the Mac Mini seriously doesn't have a worthy competitor.
What can we say, we just love it.

Could I use an KVM switch with Mac Mini m2 pro?

How do you guys rate the specced out Mac Mini M2 Pro when compared to the base model Mac Studio M1 Max. They cost almost the same.

Just look at geekbench and your wallet.

Same here. A couple hundred more and you get a base Studio (which IIRC still scores slightly higher than M2 Pro Mini, perhaps due to having a few more GPU cores). Probably dependent on planned usage. For my Photoshop and Affinity Designer hobbies I might not notice any difference - and use the lower cost Mini to offset the price of a monitor upgrade. But someone doing heavy video or other GPU-intensive tasks professionally, regularly, the Studio choice is probably clear.

@@spoketube Yeah agreed. Since my needs are more music production than graphic based it may not make a difference but if the cost is almost identical it makes you think.

If you’re comparing the M1 Max to the M2 Pro, the pros and cons really comes down to two things.
The M1 Max will fare better with GPU heavy applications while the M2 Pro will fare better with CPU heavy applications.

      @@Terafied Yes. Tks.

    M2pro 16 or 32gb of Ram for 4k 120fps 4:2:2 video editing of 5hrs of 4k timeline?
Please help me with the confusion.

Go with 32GB RAM if you can afford it. If not, 16GB is also fine.

For 100 US$ more I'd rather get the Mac Studio M2

I'm going to return my mmproM2 12/19/32GB and get a MBP M2 16 32 1TB. You can use the MBP as a desktop too.

You are stupid for not buying the MBP in the first place. It clearly has the better form factor

Whatever works for you. Prefer my ultrawide w a Mini plus an Air for on the move - comes out basically the same price. Lower risk, less size/weight to carry and I don't need that much mobile power.

Why add expensive internal when you can actually purchase external faster and cheeper? 32 Ram is optimal but internal is not in my opinion.
