I see a lot of questions I have answers for. This is a very old glitch, I have been using it for 8 years. A few tricks. It is caused by the saving mechanics of the game. As you are playing the game tries to auto save so if your game crashes you don't lose everything. When you move something from your inventory to the chest, it makes a copy of your item then deletes the original. If you force close the game while the game is auto saving you have a chance to close it after it copies but before it deletes the original. So you get both. You are using the bubbles to time yourself before you force close. But anything that can time you will work. I just break blocks. The trick here is the amount of time it takes to auto save can change depending on your device and server speed. I kind have to play with the timing to find how long it's taking at the time I'm doing it. If you reload and the stuff has moved to the chest the I waited to long if the stuff is still in inventory I didn't wait long enough and if has disappeared I'm close but drew a bad hand. Also it works if you are moving it from a chest to your inventory to. It can work in realms but not if someone else has the world loaded. The game has to close in the middle of saving for it to work. Also also this can be done differently that requires a little set up but is easier to use and duplicates more at a time. If you make a redstone clock and power a sticky piston so that you have chest moving back and forth across a chunk border you don't have to be as perfect with your time because the game is trying to save the chest in both chunks when it crashes. I have a line of chests set up on a chunk border and just load whatever I want duped in, then turn on the clock, then wait about the time it would take to break 6 or so stone block with no tool. You can wait longer but if you don't wait long enough it won't have even saved the clock being on. Sometimes you get invisible chests but if you break the piston they come back. Save a copy because sometimes it deletes your chests
Also also again. This same mechanic can be used to save yourself from dieing if you crash the game before it saves you being dead. And one of my favorites, it can be used on the trial chamber vaults to get free stuff. You open the vault wait until it has saved some of the stuff but force close the game before it saves the vault closing and you can gather a few items and open the vault again. I was able to get all the best stuff from 2 vaults before they changed the vaults so that they specific items. But you can still reopen the same vault untill you get the good one.
