Laik that was what I was most scared of I guess the ending was the Same either way since he was already in the void they should have done what they done with duck season for the ending never less it was a amazing
Explanation (although a bit late): Spoilers obviously Ford (you the player) is "working for" (I have my doubts about the exact relation personally) Gammon, a rival company to Monogon. Monogon developed a full-dive virtual world called 'MythOS', which runs on the 'BONEWORKS' framework. They achieve this by plugging the user into MythOS through what is called 'The Void', with BONEWORKS acting as a protecting layer so the user stays safe. Ford is also a double agent working as chief of security (or something similar) for MythOS/BONEWORKS, and that's how he is able to plug the Gammon USB (which contains a virus that supposedly datamines information from MythOS/Boneworks) into the main servers. Ford is trying to get past the BONEWORKS framework so that he can plug himself directly into the void and achieve immortality - which he manages to do at the end of the game, as he doesn't die when both MythOS shuts down completely and his real life body gets shot in the head (you the player are still in MythOS, which no longer exists). As we know from an easter egg in Duck Season (SLZ's previous game), Ford and Hayes were discussing an opening in security, and Ford says that he will "patch it now". Due to that Hayes thinks that Ford is doing the opposite of what he's doing, and trying to repair the system, so he trusts him - leading to his confusion the entire time. Alora realizes very early what Ford is doing, and is telling him to leave a way into the void, so that it can be utilized by Monogon / his "coworkers", etc. At the end we see her holding the Gammon USB and it's probably safe to assume that she "snitched" on Ford, calling the security guards on him, but it was too late as Ford has already reached the void and become immortal.
Thanks for the Explanation, I enjoyed the game and wanted a better understanding of what was going on without watching a 50 minute video about Duck Season which I haven’t played yet.
Conclusion: Hayes, M is trying to help you since he doesn't know what you are trying to do. Alora, B simply says "Fuck you" & rats you out to the people that kill the real life version of you
I think she wants a way in to the Voidway. Because she knows what you're trying to do. "The reset is a beacon. Monogon will locate you in minutes. What can you accomplish in minutes!? Unless... you.. aren't concerned about them finding you.. LEAVE A WAY IN!" She realised that you were going into the void to become immortal, and that's why she wanted in, as she "contributed" to make it happen.
Oh wow I just realized that I thought ford was actually trying to do good I didn't exactly realize I thought the girl was mad because she was controlling the things I didn't know what the gammon was thanks everybody in the comments for explaining this to me!!!
Im still confused on the whole story what is you're whole objective whats the point of it all would you be the good guy in the story or are you doing something bad
I know im 3 years late but im gonna tell the story in a summary You are arthur ford, a double agent who wants to reach inmortality in the void, so you put a virus inside the game to lock everyone out except you. You then meet the sabrelake (the guys with guns) who want to stop you from reaching the void but you do reach it so they find you irl and they oof u so u cant come back from the void
FYI : the cutscenes are in correct order
Last 2 are switched

@@EvroTheDevro shut up ford
It's so detailed if you can see the pixels if you look close on the tv, they didnt just put a boring old video and pasted it there, so detailed!
This isn't the video itself it's a very well made shader.
First saw it before the arena, and impressed me for 2 minutes straight
Just finished the game the contact with the lady at the end with the gamon drive gave me chills and had me rush to the tower
wouldve been cool if the devs actually added a timer and gave us an alt ending

Thanks for uploading these! I wasn't sure what she was holding in her hand, before.
She wants us to leave a way in because just in case it happens again, another person can reset.
