Hi Kayets! Very inspiring and real content, very articulate and accurate! Kudos! I am an SCD warrior and I haven't met anyone who has explained as accurately as yiu have. We'll done. I am about to turn 37 next month so I know it doesn't end at 24. More so, my doctor has told me of 50yr old patients he has that still have their crises, and yet, they live normal lives. I am not sure if it gets better with time but I will mention that I went from being hospitalized for a month or more, to being hospitalized for a week max, as I got older. The frequencies also reduced. The trick is to take your meds faithfully, drink lots of fluids, eat balanced meals, avoid stress and strainuous activities, have the right supportive people around you, keep warm, avoid infections as much as you can (even the common cold would trigger a crisis for me). I thank God because this year, I haven't had a major crisis, it's the other day I was exclaiming with my husband 🙂 we thank God. I have also been privileged enough to have given birth, and my son is now 3 yrs old. I have also suffered a miscarriage but I thank God for my experience. All this to just encourage someone out there... We are #SCDWarriors!

Surround yourself with things that bring you happiness 2. Do something you enjoy 3. Journaling. Sometimes it might be hard to explain to others what u feel so u shld write them down express urself thru writing 4. Positive affirmations 5. Meditation/Mindfulness 6. Practice Gratitude 7. Deep breathing 8. Have a healthy sleeping routine. Try going to bed & waking up at the same time 9. Acceptance 10. Self love. Give yourself the love you want to receive from others 11. Spend time with a loved one ✨ Remember to take a break whenever you feel low and always remember God loves you All is going to be well
