people also think it’s a land of political extremes and in daily life, it’s just like any other city. People ham it up a lot. It’s really just a regular place with regular people.
The bit about Facebook and parents being a security risk...you guys have NO IDEA how true this is. This is basically a major part of the DoD's OPSEC training...

As someone who’s lived their entire life in Oregon, I can full heartedly say Portland is the worst city we have. Oregon has a lot of beautiful sights, in fact we’re one of the only states that have every land form. (Volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, beaches, caves, deserts, etc.) I hope you had the chance to explore the wonders of Oregon! And either way you should consider coming back, it’s really such a beautiful state.
Actually a great, diverse, rich city. Every city has bad spots. So much trees/greenery, beautiful architecture, very very good food and all types of food you can think of
