Nah I 100% believe he'd go a Sasword route. He'd pretend to be on the Worm's side, but would want to die because his pride would not allow him to be anything other than human.
Kusaka, along with Mari and others from Ryuseji School were injected with Orphonoch markers by Smart Brain after they were killed by the Dragon Orphonoch which would eventually turn them into Orphonochs themselves. That's how Kusaka was able to use the Kaixa Belt.

I had only finished Faiz last year so my overall opinions on it are still developing (it's really good). I hated Kusaka on my first watch because he started the most conflict between Takumi's and Yuji's groups for what felt like petty reasons on a surface level. Yet as much as I hated him in the show, there was always a 'love-to-hate' aspect around him that fascinated me. This video really opened my eyes to the sheer number of layers this character has. I never realized until now that underneath his facade of elegance and control, Kusaka was living solely by a dream of spite and fear that ended up being his downfall, juxtaposed by Takumi never having a dream and finding one after he breaks his self-imposed barriers and learns to accept others. Kusaka might be one of the most tragic characters in Rider from what I've seen (Yuto Sakurai still wins the title for most tragic imo) but unlike most of them who you often feel bad for, Kusaka's tragedy is less empathetical but you can sort of understand his troubled mindset when considering the stuff he went through. Despite fighting alongside the protagonists with little trouble, he never truly grows past his trauma and dies at the hands of the very suit only he could safely use out of the Ryusei school students. Inoue, Murakami, and Ito all did a fantastic job at creating this twisted yet tragic character. This was a wonderful video to watch, the DDS music was a great choice! Excellent video! It is always a great pleasure to have another in depth kr video like this in the fandom. You really do understand Kusaka to the core. He’s one of my favorite KR characters since day 1, I remember watching the show for the first time as a kid and liking him more than Takumi. He really is the perfect opposite to Takumi’s character in every way. The funny thing is, Kusaka could had very much been a hero like the main rider if not for his petty rivalries and schemes. The story of Faiz was always about moving past tragedies and the hardships of dreams. Kusaka similar to another mc of the show, never really got over his tragic past and tragedies. Instead of moving onwards, he succumbs to the events and loses his own self. He never gets over Mari or his past, thus developing a savior complex. This savior complex of his has also indirectly caused a lot of bs in the story due to his schemes.. Unlike Takumi who moved from point A to point B, Kusaka always stayed constant and never changed. Even when he realizes the truth by the end of the series, the poor dude gets murked by getting jumped. His story really is a tragedy just like a lot of characters in this show. I would love to go on more but this comment has gone long enough 💀I hope you make more videos about the characters in the franchise!!
I just saw something absolutely wild: Kouhei Murakami voiced Hazama in Blazblue. AKA Yuuki Terumi and Susanoo. A seemingly laid-back spy of sorts... who turned out to be a manipulative jackass.
Kusaka and Kijino imo are very similar though Kijino ain't on his level. But seeing Kusaka's actor in DonBros and him doing that iconic Kaixa smile made my day the episode came, Gotta love Inoue for bringing Kohei as a villain!
I did not expect Meti to make Kamen Rider content, but I'm on for it, thanks man edit: I recently rewatched some of your older videos and there's Kamen Rider references so, that's cool
When i watched faiz, i was like "dude , kusaka is creepy af" , but afterwhile and in addition to your vid, he is more sophisticated than " he is just a dick". Thanks for this excellent in depth video of the character, hoping you make more analysis on other toku character
I've been waiting for you to do this you glorious bastard! Ever since I saw the Kabuto Zecter on your belt, I've been waiting for a rider Glory, Building a Bastard etc. Let's fucking goooooo
That backstory goes hand in hand with old japanese belief on blood where if some of it got on you then it nade you out to be complicit in that person's death. Thats why commoners were wary around samurai when they had to swipe the air to get the blood off their blades before they sheathed.
Very cool to see you cover riders of all things im completely surprised but happily so I really hope you revisit more rider stuff There isn't really to much English kamen rider content so seeing a channel like this giving it some attention is great
Peak KR? Far from it. Faiz isn't very popular with Japanese and contributed to the decreased popularity of KR franchise until Den-O saved it. Phase 2 Heisei is way better with Build, Gaim, Ex-Aid, etc.
though first Heisei is truly a series of bangers after bangers Faiz is truly the GOAT for me, from the suit and driver design, the music, and the writing of the characters...this is Toshiki Inoue at his peak
You have earned a sub! It’s only been recent that I got into Kamen Rider, but the fact that you went so deep onto a series that i have only gotten into recently, I have to tip my hat to you good sir Well done!
WONDERFUL breakdown. You've perfectly laid down the reasons why Kusaka is my favourite piece of shiet character of all time (get in line, Homelander), and how Faiz would've not been the phenomenon it was if it wasn't for his presence. It's very interesting how Murakami was inspired by Hagino's performance in Ryuki to try for the role. Personally I think Ouja/Asakura is still a whole different beast from Kusaka. "Man literally too evil to die" is how I'd describe him. I hope you'll consider dedicating a video for him as well.
In the game Battride War Genesis cursed belt mode being on a timer when you think about it is not only a game mechanic but could be seen as an allusion for the fact that while the belt gave him great power to fight it was also slowly eating away at him
Man this made me actually feel some sympathy and mostly pity for Kusaka, just a fantastic video, I very much hope you do more Kamen Rider centric videos
In all my years of watching Kamen Rider, I never knew Asakura was an inspiration for Kohei's performance of Kusaka but it makes perfect sense. Really loved this video!

You did a good job explaining Kamen Rider Kaixa. It be nice if you could do one for Kamen Rider Baron.
I just saw something absolutely wild: Kouhei Murakami voiced Hazama in Blazblue. AKA Yuuki Terumi and Susanoo. A seemingly laid-back spy of sorts... who turned out to be a manipulative jackass.
That's wrong though. Hazama and Terumi are voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura, who KR fans would remember as Yuuto Sakurai/Kamen Rider Zeronos from Den-O
@@jouheikisaragi6075that is also wrong, Yuichi Nakamura the actor and Yuichi Nakamura the voice actor are two different person with the same name
@@NguyenThang-zk6pi ah, I had mixed the two. The only difference in spelling is the Kanji for Yuu in their names being different.
Kusaka and Kijino imo are very similar though Kijino ain't on his level.
But seeing Kusaka's actor in DonBros and him doing that iconic Kaixa smile made my day the episode came, Gotta love Inoue for bringing Kohei as a villain!
Wait, what episode was that?
@@cyberdragoon1432 The very last episode I believe where he and sonona come to assassinate sonoshigoroku.
@@bejitobejiexe4624 Oh right
I'm really excited to see you tackle Kamen Rider videos and look forward to seeing you cover more.
Love to see another content creator passionate about KR!
I did not expect Meti to make Kamen Rider content, but I'm on for it, thanks man
edit: I recently rewatched some of your older videos and there's Kamen Rider references so, that's cool
When i watched faiz, i was like "dude , kusaka is creepy af" , but afterwhile and in addition to your vid, he is more sophisticated than " he is just a dick". Thanks for this excellent in depth video of the character, hoping you make more analysis on other toku character
This is a certified Karate Bug Man classic
And Asian wasp man classic lol
Probably one of the best videos ive ever seen on rider. Excellent research and presentation.
I watched 555 just to see this video. Great work, Meti, great work
I expect a Dan Kuruto Shin analysis.
I, as an Asian, am truly surprised and amazed to see such a detailed analysis coming from a Western viewer. Appreciate your effort a lot! ❤👍🏻
I've been waiting for you to do this you glorious bastard!
Ever since I saw the Kabuto Zecter on your belt, I've been waiting for a rider Glory, Building a Bastard etc.
Let's fucking goooooo
Nice to see Meti covering some Kamen Rider stuff. Hope he decided to do more, would love to see him analysis Kuroto Dan
Awesome so happy to see u talk about a Toku character and it Kaixa at that! Hope u will talk about more Toku characters in the future
Never would I think Meti would ever cover Kamen Rider, let alone Kaixa.
That backstory goes hand in hand with old japanese belief on blood where if some of it got on you then it nade you out to be complicit in that person's death.
Thats why commoners were wary around samurai when they had to swipe the air to get the blood off their blades before they sheathed.
A very in-depth and well made analysis. Thank you for making this
i haven't watch a video of yours in years and here I am watching you talking about Kamen Rider Kaixa damn, you came a long way
I am.... Very glad you didn't mention the events of The Novel.
0:12 Wasnt expecting a clip from Tales of Berseria. I'd love for you to do videos on characters from the Tales series
FINALLY!!! A kamen rider video by meti I’ve been waiting for this and it’s been worth the wait this was a great video and I can’t wait to see more
Very cool to see you cover riders of all things im completely surprised but happily so I really hope you revisit more rider stuff There isn't really to much English kamen rider content so seeing a channel like this giving it some attention is great
I really miss the Heisei era. Faiz is so close to peak KR. How does Toshiki Inoue continuously make enjoyable shows?
I dont know about you but after kiva he made some.....questionable writing (aside from donbrothers, now thats what i call peak inoue)
@@megatron2171 Oh, without a doubt. Donbrothers is not only peak Inoue, it's also peak Sentai. I miss it a lot as well.
Peak KR? Far from it. Faiz isn't very popular with Japanese and contributed to the decreased popularity of KR franchise until Den-O saved it. Phase 2 Heisei is way better with Build, Gaim, Ex-Aid, etc.
@@miyako1909 So, what you're saying is the Japanese had very bad taste.
@@blexanderno, just that they want to watch a more shounen style toku compared to early heisei’s J-drama (and i agree tbh)
Happy "Late" Kaixa Day
Nice cover on Kaixa/Kusaka, Meti
M
Surprised to see you here.
I did not expect you to make a Kamen Rider video lol, would love to see more videos about it ^^
Happy Kaixa Day everyone !
Had to go watch Faiz before returning to the video first, loved it. Meti please make more Kamen Rider videos (gills🤞)
though first Heisei is truly a series of bangers after bangers Faiz is truly the GOAT for me, from the suit and driver design, the music, and the writing of the characters...this is Toshiki Inoue at his peak
You have earned a sub!
It’s only been recent that I got into Kamen Rider, but the fact that you went so deep onto a series that i have only gotten into recently, I have to tip my hat to you good sir
Well done!
Did not expect bro to drop a rider video AND ON KAIXA DAYY TOO
You're wearing me down, at this rate I might actually get into Kamen Rider in the same way you got me into Chainsaw Man and JJK before
As a Rider fan, I'd be happy to welcome you. Kamen Rider has a really nice charm to its stories.
Has kamen rider always been this awesome and ive been sleeping on it?
In the game Battride War Genesis cursed belt mode being on a timer when you think about it is not only a game mechanic but could be seen as an allusion for the fact that while the belt gave him great power to fight it was also slowly eating away at him
Never thought the channel gonna do Kamen rider
If you like character study I think Hajime Aikawa/Kamen Rider Chalice is a great pick.
Please more tokusatsu videos if its possible! I finally feel seen! Kairi from lupat and Keiwa from Geats would be interesting to see broken down!
Finally
After years of teasing
You actually made a kamen rider video
A Kusaka video on Kaixa day? Well, great video, dude! Now, I need to get back to watching Kamen Rider Faiz...
Man this made me actually feel some sympathy and mostly pity for Kusaka, just a fantastic video, I very much hope you do more Kamen Rider centric videos
You are the man for making this! He’s the one guy you love to hate! Him and Micchy from Gaim.
Meti's talking about Rider? Interesting...
Though Kaixa Day was yesterday so I'll give it that haha
In all my years of watching Kamen Rider, I never knew Asakura was an inspiration for Kohei's performance of Kusaka but it makes perfect sense. Really loved this video!
Happy Kaixa day Meti, hope you do more Rider in the future.
A fitting video on Kaixa Day. 😌
I litteraly understand nothing from kamen rider but man is this a great analysis. Keep it up!
The fact that you have done a Kamen Rider video is astounding
I’ve thought about meti doing a video on a kamen rider character someday, and to see that day come is great.
First 15 secs of a kamen rider vid with silent hill, nmh & berseria is an instant sub my man
One of my favorite antagonistic Riders, what a character you love to hate. Seriously well written and a great analysis.
This was fun! I’d be curious to see who else you cover from a Rider series
Well THIS is an unexpected surprise. Never thought I'd see Meti do a video on a Kamen Rider character.
> Meti doing a Kamen Rider Video on Kaixa/ Kusaka
STANDING BY....COMPLETE
So we on Kamen Rider Train?! LETS GO!!!!
Ah yes, my favorite Kamen Rider. Zyuoh Bird
Damn some good ass timing with that recent Faiz 20th Anniversary news and the announcement of that Kusaka streaming special.
finally after all these years
kamen rider video
Thank you so much for making a Kusaka video!!!
I really hope you can make videos for Avataro Sentai DonBrothers because the characters felt so interesting especially with Momoi Tarou.
I also hope to see you do more videos for not only KR shows but also with Super Sentai and Ultraman shows!!!
If I had nickel for every time Roland Ruina appeared in something Kamen Rider related, I'd have two
Insightful vid, hopeful for more Kamen Rider from Meti
