I eat the fermented shrimp sauce all the time. I love it when theres pineapple in it too. I grew up eating it so I dont mind it. It doesnt smell to me. I will say that its an acquired taste. Not a lot of foreigners can eat it

Fermented shrimp is what we eat in The Philippines. It is definitely an acquired taste because it has to be lightly dipped because it’s salty. But it goes well with like eggplant, coconut milk, Kare kare, But it will make your house smell like rotten fish. When I was a kid I invited my friends over house.
