Same dilemma. But today I chose the pad 5 and it is epic. Ive used ipad 9th gen from a friend and it was brilliant but this pad5 is just works out so much more for me. Seemes quicker, easier, bigger screen, and it is so elegant i didn't regret the choice.

Just drag any apps to the position at very right screen. And then there you go. A new page is created Make sure the "lock home screen" is off at the home screen settings
Try to reply your question since I have this tab, I'd say it's enough with the 6gugs variant, even tho u need more ram to do multitask, up can expand it up to 5gigs(I guess) using ur internal. So yeah, hope it helps

You can turn off notifications (half moon icon) from quick panel, near turn on/off wifi.
