Tag someone with shoulder pain! Do you have shoulder pain during pull-ups or any pulling motion? Chances are that you aren’t doing this fancy movement first. A “scapular pull-up” looks simple and we see a lot of people doing them, but they aren’t putting focus into a stable positioning for the exercise. Often times, you guys just from from Point A to Point B without much thought in every movement that you do. Fiji Friday
For this movement, do 5-20 SLOOOOWWWW repetitions. Focus on rolling the blades around the rib cage (or rotating the armpit forward), locking it in, then moving in a small down and up motion. Keep the blade rotated forward the entire time. This positioning will create stability in the shoulder blade, protect the shoulder joint, and allow you to generate more force.
Along with the shoulder positioning, make sure that your ribs are pulled down, your pelvis is tucked under (flattening the back), the glutes are squeezed hard, and the feet are pinned together. Create tension through your entire body while the only thing moving in your shoulder blades. While hanging, your body should make the shape of a banana.
You won’t be a master with this movement right off of the bat. If you are struggling with this, hang from the bar with a box under your feet so that you can use your legs to take some weight off of your hands.

I thought you wer supposed to pull the scapula BACK and down, not outwards and down? 😅 what’s the right way now?
I had a bar (not pull up bar) that I used for pull ups.It was not stabile but it was enough.Now i got pull up maschine with wide grip.After literaly 1st pull up i got strong pain in lift rear delt(im right handed)Advice?
Im good at pullups, the pain occured after doing dips together with pullups and I think it's the dips that caused me to feel pain while doing pullups. Complicated right?

Isn't this suggesting internal shoulder position? All the other videos suggest pinching and depressing the shoulder blades, but this says to do the opposite and rotate them internally?
What the guy does in the video is external rotation
