I love how your doing critiques, your emphasizing what you love about them but still giving critiques that make sense and explaining why, but also reminding them that if you want to change it go for it, but if you don’t it’s still a really cool map and it’s awesome.
This was really cool. Also your critiques were very useful feedback and allowed me to realize things that were problematic with my own work. And the feedback was also stuff that we wouldnt normally see in a video so again, extremely useful.
Thanks JP, you've inspired me now to go back and rework the land of Von Smeeg! I saw some of Brett Simpsons maps at the end, his Brighthaven stuff has been an influence on me too. Love to see more maps by other fans, definitely do a follow up on this.
Hi @mightyeroc7284, loved your map! I was also really struck by Brett Simpson's maps at the end, but can find no trace of them on the internet... Where can I find them?
They are great, I especially loved the last however the art style was more simplistic than suits my taste, the idea to build the world with smaller map sections is pretty cool. I would love to see more of this type of video!
Yes! Absolutely do this again. I can see your style has inspired lots of your viewers as many of the quick clips you played at the end looked like you could have drawn them :) A collab with between you and Baron de Ropp at Dungeon Masterpiece doing a geopolitical analysis of them could be really awesome.
Very cool, I enjoy seeing how creative people are with their maps! Been playing and drawing for my own games a long time, but suddenly I find myself seeking out map making advice anywhere I can find it. If you ever do a critique video again, I would like to send in one of mine. Any pointers would be helpful and appreciated 😊
I hope you do this again; that was my one-stop inspiration for drawing today! Also, I forgot to send in my map. Maybe I can make it even better learning from this video!
Wow man! You deserve way more recognition in this map making community. As a kid I was always intrigued by the images in atlases that showed landmasses, oceans, mountain ranches, ect. So much so that I ones stole one from my school even though I often did not even understand most of the science behind it hahaha. Now about three years ago i had some time to kill for obvious reasons. That is when I started to give map making a shot. I have used a bunch of different tools, from Inkarnate to Donjon and back to good old fashioned pencil and paper. Let me say your mantra loud and clear: IF YOU CAN WRITE THE ALFHABETH, YOU CAN DRAW AN AWESOME LOOKING MAP!!! I was never into D&D but your vids inspired me. You make it very clear that this is something accessibel to ANYONE and your enthusiasm and passion fuels my inspiration even more. Long story short: keep up what your doing, you have no idea the positive difference you are making by making people familiar with new and positive hobby's. Thank you so much!
Wow, so many cool maps! :) The Sleeping Mountain is brilliant. It has actually given me a few ideas about something I can't talk about, just in case my players happen to be here. :P I hope you'll do more of these kinds of videos, I would love to send one of my maps your way. 😀
So, I would love to play some sort of D&D thing but I don't have inspiration, Friends, and my brothers aren't into that stuff. Do you know of a way I can make my own solo adventure that is reusable so I can play it multiple times and have different scenarios? If so I would love to know!
Very cool content. Next time I will make it to the commented maps. Little win for me that my map was the first uncommented. 😂 Hope to see more reviews, I really liked the shown maps.
Hey man! I didn't get a notification or anything about this event, but just as I'm adding some finishing touches to my map (which is on my table in front of me as I write this, shaping up to be my best), I get a notification for this video. So I was wondering if you're gonna host another one of these any time soon?
At first i Thought: "Wow, that Orvansk city sound kinda like something that exists in a real slavic country. And also every lake written as loch, as if it's scottish. That's cool." but than he mentione insparation and i was like: 'Wow, so it really is Орвянск and not just some Owwansg, that's cool" Note my exelent english accent. Also I guess Vorona is a Crow-town.
Hey! Many of the names are purposefully crude and rough translations of Russian and/or Ukranian words, and then made easier to pronounce in English. Thanks for the comment!
Hi, I've been watching some of your videos. You are very inspiring. I've srnt you a couple of maps I've done, on instagram. What would be the best way to send you maps? I'm trying to do a city map. Id like to show you. Thanks for your inspiration.

This was really cool. Also your critiques were very useful feedback and allowed me to realize things that were problematic with my own work. And the feedback was also stuff that we wouldnt normally see in a video so again, extremely useful.

The map that expands into a giant world map was crazy cool! Great idea for creating an adventure.
Dude, I loved this! Been stuck on drawing the map for my adventure for some time now. Just picked up the pencil halfway throug. Lets fill this land!

this is one of the best youtube videos I have ever ever seen!
Any tips on drawing winter areas like icy plains, frozen lakes, snowcapped mountains, etc???
So cool, as a teacher I love your teacher mode you went into.
So many beautiful maps! And thank you for including Kjocheev!
Love it!
Thanks for doing this!

HOW DID I MISS THIS??? I have PLENTY of maps I could have sent in for this. Q_Q
oh well... I'm excited to see what the video has in store!
Duuude same
I feel like I tend to keep saying the same thing, but once again your videos continue to inspire me to draw more fun stuff!
Awesome!!! I love this content!
All the maps are looking awesome! I have one question: is the "Sleeping Mountain"-Map for a DCC-Campagne?
Wow, so many cool maps! :) The Sleeping Mountain is brilliant. It has actually given me a few ideas about something I can't talk about, just in case my players happen to be here. :P I hope you'll do more of these kinds of videos, I would love to send one of my maps your way. 😀
I would love to see how you would draw a map of an existing real city. I think that would make a fantasy city feel more realistic. ❤
Oh wow, I wish I had seen this, I have a couple of hand drawn maps I was inspired to do thanks to your videos! I'd love to show you some pictures!
Definitely doing it again soon. Keep an eye out!
Will do!!@@JPCoovert
followers got talent !!!! partially beacause they have a good teacher 😉
Anyone here have more information on "Brett Simpson"? I can't find any of their stuff online, and their maps at the end there look SO GOOD...
Late to the party, but you should definitely do this again …
O, for Sure!!
So, I would love to play some sort of D&D thing but I don't have inspiration, Friends, and my brothers aren't into that stuff.
Do you know of a way I can make my own solo adventure that is reusable so I can play it multiple times and have different scenarios?
If so I would love to know!
There are lots of solo ttrpgs. I recommend Ironsworn.
On my maps I put bunches of squiggles for trees

Part 2? Part 2! Part 2!
I was too late to submit my stuff for this video, but I definitely hope to see more critique videos like this in the future and get some feedback! :D
Will in the future for sure! Keep an eye out
