The movie that, the song was based on, probably came to Germany. But It was a song that Germans equally loved to forget the fact that the depression was getting them down too

The music is the same, and the lyrics are about a couple having a private get-together out in the woods, with unstated implications. Vastly different, indeed. America was more puritanical than Germany around 1930.

The United States around 1930 were no more or just as puritanical as the Weimar Republic. Just listen to the risqué banter in Mae West's pre-code movies from 1932 and 1933, and you know what I mean. It seems silly to call the original lyricist Jack Yellen a prude because his 1929 text celebrates the end of Prohibition, whereas the German lyricist Charles Amberg (Karl Amberg) used the same cheerful melody for a hymn to the private joys of a weekend tête-à-tête in the forest.

Very nice song! Somewhere I've the same record! It sounds as good as the recording of this song by Jack Hylton And His Orchestra.

It has different lyrics from the English, but I still like it!

It is literally different in German than English but thematically it's quite similar.
