Conveniently located just 100 meters away from Agra Fort, the Agra Fort Railway Station allows easy access, making it a quick 2-4 minute journey for those arriving by train.

Agra Fort holds a significant place in history as the main residence of Mughal emperors until 1638, when the capital shifted from Agra to Delhi. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983, it stands proudly 2 km northwest of the iconic Taj Mahal, resembling more of a walled city than a traditional fort.
Constructed and utilized primarily by early Mughal rulers like Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb, Agra Fort has a complex history. Initially known as Badalgarh, it was captured by Ghaznavi and later by the Chauhan Rajputs in the 15th century. The fort's present appearance took shape during Akbar's reign.
Agra Fort's architecture spans 380,000 m2 with a semicircular plan, 70-ft high walls parallel to the Yamuna river, and double ramparts featuring circular bastions. Notable gates include the "Delhi Gate" and the "Lahore Gate" (Amar Singh Gate).
