Yes, but they did not establish a political system. They were there doing business or preaching religion in different parts of greater Bengal. If you watch the previous video of this series, you will see how Islam, as a ruling force, came to Bengal during the Ghurid empire. Ikhtiyar Uddin Muhammad Bin Bakhtiyar Khilji was the man.
Correct The bengal subah alone generated 50% of the moghul economy and the rest of the indian subcontinent generated the other 50%. It was the most industrial and wealthiest region on earth at the time
The International Monetary Fund, in its World Economic Outlook report late on October 13, said that Bangladesh is set to beat India in terms of per capita gross domestic product (GDP) in calendar year 2020

Mughal history should be perserved as they played a role in creating modern India. Its a shame that the BJP government are trying to remove them from Indian history books and architecture
They destroyed most of India, Indians living under Mughals were mostly poor. According to European travel Thomas Roe, who visited Jahangir's court - There were more poor people in India tan the fish in the seas.
@@walterwhite8229 Here the component of contention isn't really religion. Most things were done to expand ones military might. The best path to that was claiming a religious group. Many of these rulers were seeking that, even Shivaji. And Aurangzeb and Babur were way less radicalised than many Muslim's today. But I guess as they embrace development they will break out of their stupid ideology.
Hindi is just a sanskritized version of Hindustani while Urdu is the Persianized version, the only difference is the vocabulary and writing system. And both Hindi and Urdu speakers can understand each other, and sometimes Urdu words r used in place of Hindi words by Hindi speakers and vice-versa...
while word Hindu derived from Sindhu or you can say people of Indus Hinduism(present religion) has nothing to do with word Hindu and the people at that time follow other religion They didn't worship idols
@@mr.comment8781 Get over the idea that Hinduism is ALL about worshipping (or not worshipping) idols. Idols are nothing but abstract representations of divinity in the way they are described in Vedic Hindu texts. Hinduism is about the wisdom and values of the various forms of divinity relayed through their stories. Idols only help the people remember the particular form of divinity at the time of prayer, simple. People in Vedic (and even before that in Indus Valley times) had sculptures of human and animal figures, which clearly show that they had some form of godly figures with form. We may have some parts of our texts talking about formless Gods, but as a community we are not monotheistic, we never were, and we will never be.
Amazing as always. As a Hyderabadi, I just found out that no one has made a video extensively about the Deccan Sultanates and the Asaf Shahi Dynasty of Hyderabad. It kind of saddens me that the historical importance of Hyderabad Deccan has been largely overlooked by a lot of people. I wish you'd make a video about it.
The main reason why the anything about the Nizam isn't taught in schools is because of the atrocities committed by the Indian Army sent for the annexation of Hyderabad. Estimates say that almost 200,000 (2 lakh) people (razakars and civilians) were killed.

A little anecdote from the Internet about the greatness... *As with theologians and court officials of Delhi Sultanate, his advisors counseled in favor of religious violence. Shaikh Nizam[who?], for example, counseled, "There is nothing equal to a religious war against the infidels. If you be slain you become a martyr, if you live you become a ghazi."[32] Sher Shah's Mughal army then attacked the fort of Kalinjar, captured it, killing every person inside that fort.[32]*
Great work. Some comments: 1. Before Mughals, there was 3 centuries of Muslim rule of various dynasties collectively known as Delhi Sultanate. These were broadly either Afghan or Turkic. Babur took over from ‘Lodhi’ an Afghan. In the early years of Mughal rule there was power struggle between Afghan and Turkic as we see Suri re-establishing Afghan dominance. Akbar allied with Rajputs to increase the power base of Mughals. 2. Sikhism did not appear as a distinct religion during Jahangir’s time. Many Sikhs like many other Punjabi clans are of Rajput descent. They provided military service for the Mughals. Probably , Gurus saintly activities were deemed conflicting to military service for the Mughals. 3. Aurangzeb introduced austerity measures as the lavish spending during his father’s reign had depleted the treasury. As a result many Hindus who were affiliated with entertainment industry lost their job. This was projected as anti-Hinduism. 4. The Muslims were concentrated in large urban centers surrounded by farmland across north India as continuous culture connecting Pakistan and Bangladesh. With introduction of democracy and partition on the basis of religion, all these large urban centers got absorbed in India, leaving muslim concentration in west and east with no connection. 5. Hinduism was not defined as a religion until partition. The sufis spread Islam over several centuries by merely asking people to say the ‘shahada’ followed by no training. That’s why Islam is practiced much differently in India compared to other parts of the world. 6. Regarding Urdu-Hindi, it is actually Hindi that substituted several Arabic/Persian vocabulary by Sanskrit words. Just watch some pre-2000 Bollywood movies and compare with recent ones, and you will see the difference. Or listen to the old songs of Lata and Kishore. 7. The reason of Muslim power decline was rooted in dynastic system. However, when one family dynasty declined, another would replace it. Mughals started declining after 100 years, but they were not replaced until after another 200 years, eventually by the British. Nadir Shah and Ahmed Shah Abadali had the opportunity but showed interest in looting only. Another reason which is of more global significance was of negligence in sea. Muslims did not develop strong navy to protect their waters.
Hindu nationalist took note and can point you out: The history of the rupee traces back to ancient Indian subcontinent. The mention of rūpya by Pāṇini is seemingly the earliest reference in a text about coins. The term in Indian subcontinent was used for referring to a coin. The word "rupee" is derived from a Sanskrit word "rūpya", which means "wrought silver", and maybe also something stamped with an image or a coin. As an adjective it means "shapely", with a more specific meaning of "stamped, impressed", whence "coin". It is derived from the noun rūpa "shape, likeness, image".[citation needed] Arthashastra, written by Chanakya, prime minister to the first Maurya emperor Chandragupta Maurya (c. 340-290 BC), mentions silver coins as rūpyarūpa, other types including gold coins (suvarṇarūpa), copper coins (tāmrarūpa) and lead coins (sīsarūpa) are mentioned [This claim is disputed]. Rūpa means form or shape, example, rūpyarūpa, rūpya - wrought silver, rūpa - form. Sher Shah Suri, during his five-year rule from 1540 to 1545, set up a new civic and military administration and issued a coin of silver, weighing 178 grains, which was also termed Rupiya Just a superficial overview of India wouldn't help it, you'll have to read from a transparent and unbiased mindset with no superiority complex, and then you may understand that standing up for just trashing alternative interpretation of history may lead people calling you out as Hindu nationalist.

12:36 Bahadur Shah sendiri meninggal pada tahun 1712 dan sebelum tahun 1720, terdapat dua lagi perang berturut-turut 12:42 sehingga pemerintahan Muhammad Shah (محمد شاہ) bermula. 13:02 Sekarang, mereka melihat Delhi sendiri.
I don't know about Pakistan, but in Bangladesh, Islam came before the Mughal empire and mass conversions took place in some areas, through Sufi preachers and others such as Hazrat Shah Jalal in Sylhet. Also Bakhtiyar Khalji was the first person to bring Bengal under Muslim control- under the Ghaznavids. I don't think Bengal owes much to the Mughals as far as Islam is concerned. I also think that the Pakistani regions might also have a somewhat similar history. I heard that Pakistan region became majority Muslim, because of early missionary efforts that were supported by the Arab conquerers. Early Arab conquests were always accompanied with missionary work, something later dynasties such as the Mughals did not continue, which is why India is not a Muslim majority country.
Actually Mongolians have attacked them before Mughals and after that khijli empire in india killed rajputs and after that we got Mughals invasion than god for Chatrapati he stopped them fortunately

India's Mughal Empire was a Turkic-Mongol imperial power from Uzbekistan, that ruled most of the Indian subcontinent in 16th and 17th century.[32] In 1526, Babur, a Timurid descendant of Tamerlane and Genghis Khan from Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan, swept across the Khyber Pass and established the Mughal Empire, which lasted for over 300 years, ruling 1/4 of the world's population at a time.[33]

I would say that the Delhi sultanate caused more conversions to islam than Mughals. They were rather aggressive religiously, with Tughlaq era being the most oppressive for hindus. Mughals were largely secular compared to them, with the exception of Aurangzeb.
Conversions usually happen because of convenience rather than aggression of the ruling class. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but in most cases, it's not the driving force behind conversions. The Sufi Islam Mughals brought made it easier for Hindus to convert. With Sunni Islam, it was too unacceptable to Hindus since it was not only very different but also very rigid and even lower caste Hindus didn't convert early on because caste system was too deeply rooted in the people that even conversion didn't change their status.
@@AlMuqaddimahYT I agree with you, but the point I am trying to make is that the Sultans of Delhi were more eager and more invested in bringing people to islam, than the mughals. So the sentence you said early on kinda makes mughals seem like religious zealots in eyes of many hindus.
Not many people know this but Pakistani Punjab didnt become Muslim majority until the last few decades of British rule. Before British rule, the only Muslim majority provinces of India were East Bengal (Bangladesh) , Sindh and Kashmir. In Punjab, Hindus and Sikhs combined were the majority for a long time. The Muslim population growth of Punjab was due to much higher birth rates. And surprisingly, although there around 200 million Punjabis today, before the 1860s, there were only about 4-5 million people in united Punjab. Muslims were scattered around in small populations around India. Back then, they accounted for less than 10% of the population. However, due to higher birth rates, they have managed to make up about 30-40% of the Subcontinents population. This shows that "Mass Conversion" was not a policy of Muslim Kingdoms and Empires. There were many forced conversions during times of war or rebellion and Sufis helped to spread Islam, especially in Bengal but it shows that making India Muslim majority was either an impossible feat or not a priority for the Muslim rulers.
You all 10 youtubers failed to mention that it was Mahatama Gandhi's Birthday on 2nd October and these 13 vedios are a tribute to him. LOL . Maybe the boss behind the plan knows this. HAHAHA... Thank you anyway buddy for making such a beautiful vedio.
Partially true, but for the region of Bengal from which I come from, the Mughals had a huge hand to play in the spread of Islam into the region. As the Ganges shifted its course eastwards in the 16th century toward the formerly isolated lands of East Bengal, Mughal officials and missionaries were quick to set up infrastructure and repopulating towns in that region (especially as the Mughals had just recently conquered Bengal) and soon these became cities that housed many communities of converts to Islam as isolated communities flocked to these settlements. So although the Mughals weren’t necessarily the one who first brought Islam to India, they were heavily responsible for why Islam is the Majority in places like Bangladesh and Pakistan. Before the Mughals, Muslims were a minority, a sizable minority, but still a minority among a still Hindu majority India

Al muqqadimah hindu nationalists don't need to change it because rupee comes rupiya ( hindi/urdu) which comes from rupa ( a Sanskrit word meaning coin of silver ) which comes from uruppu a Tamil word . Further Sher Shah Suri wasn't the first one to use it . During the rule of Ashoka the great and the mauryas . The standard currency of indian subcontinent was known as rupyarupa (we have that coin in our museum dating to 200 bce ) . These kinds of histories really make me wonder, if we had never experienced colonialism by the British where they specifically divided us by religion and culture, if India today would be more like other Asian cultures where people reach across religions and participate in practices from multiple different faiths.

The Anglo Maratha and Anglo Sikh wars were fought after Tipu as well, and not to forget the Sepoy mutiny. So Tipu was not the last resistance against the Brits.
Instead of the Anglo-Mysorean wars, I think it would be more interesting to learn about the Mysore Administration under Tipu Sultan, Hyder Ali and the Wodeyars. For example, the economic policies Mysore took to become one of the most developed regions of the world with higher average incomes than Europe. Also, how Mysore tried to modernise with French technology and tried to build a world class blue water navy, star forts at manjarabad etc
@@kabrabamabubensingh535 True. None of the rulers like the Marathas, Jhansi Ki Rani etc were really freedom fighters. They were just fighting for their own Kingdom. However, we must give the Kingdom of Mysore the credit that it was one of the few Indian states to recognise the threat from British Power at a time when the Marathas, Awadh, Hyderabad, Travancore and the Rajputs were all allied with the British and were made to fight against each other and against Mysore as per the divide and rule strategy. Great work. Some comments:
Hindu nationalist took note and can point you out:
The history of the rupee traces back to ancient Indian subcontinent.
It is derived from the noun rūpa "shape, likeness, image".[citation needed]
Arthashastra, written by Chanakya, prime minister to the first Maurya emperor Chandragupta Maurya (c. 340-290 BC), mentions silver coins as rūpyarūpa, other types including gold coins (suvarṇarūpa), copper coins (tāmrarūpa) and lead coins (sīsarūpa) are mentioned [This claim is disputed]. Rūpa means form or shape, example, rūpyarūpa, rūpya - wrought silver, rūpa - form.
Sher Shah Suri, during his five-year rule from 1540 to 1545, set up a new civic and military administration and issued a coin of silver, weighing 178 grains, which was also termed Rupiya
Just a superficial overview of India wouldn't help it, you'll have to read from a transparent and unbiased mindset with no superiority complex, and then you may understand that standing up for just trashing alternative interpretation of history may lead people calling you out as Hindu nationalist.
The BS thrown by Hindu radical terrorists doesn't matter as their whole history relies on make believe

I agree with you, but the point I am trying to make is that the Sultans of Delhi were more eager and more invested in bringing people to islam, than the mughals.

Islam was in India way before the Mughals I don’t think it’s right to say we have the Mughals to thank for their faith 🙄

The Grand Trunk (GT) Road was built by *Chandragupta Maurya* and not by Sher shah suri... he just repaired some parts of the road after years of bieng ignored..
I was waiting for this. Finally 👍👍
I expected a detailed video on this topic from your channel. Nevertheless, it was nice.
A whole series is coming. Don't worry. ;)
@@AlMuqaddimahYT You did not even mentioned Dara Shikoh.....probably the most open minded after Akbar....
He translated some of the hindu scriptures to Persian and that's how it then got translated into German afterwards.....
One correction here...The Grant Trunk Road....existed before Shershah Suri, but he modified it and extended it further....

Yes! One of my favorite historical topics, the Mughals!! I love this video!
THX FOR THIS, THIS HEPED ME ALOTTT :-)
Al muqqadimah hindu nationalists don't need to change it because rupee comes rupiya ( hindi/urdu) which comes from rupa ( a Sanskrit word meaning coin of silver ) which comes from uruppu a Tamil word . Further Sher Shah Suri wasn't the first one to use it . During the rule of Ashoka the great and the mauryas . The standard currency of indian subcontinent was known as rupyarupa (we have that coin in our museum dating to 200 bce ) . The only thing Sher Shah did unique was that he turned rupiya into the only legal tender which shall be used throughout his empire while in the previous cases versions of rupee were used along with various other regional currencies .
Also, descendants of Sher Shah Suri fought under the leadership of Maharana Pratap against Mughals
@@SM-gu9by yes and Sher Shah suris successors were nominal kings all the power was held by hemu vikramaditya .

Also, I made a mistake in the timeline at the top. Babur invaded India in 1526, not 1527 as the timeline shows.
6:55 The word "rupee" is derived from the Sanskrit term "rupaya" or "rupyakam," which roughly translates to "silver coin."
While I respect your videos and your general attempt at demystifying your faith to others, please be mindful of information. Don't spread wrong information just for some cheap political points. Other than that, awesome video!

These kinds of histories really make me wonder, if we had never experienced colonialism by the British where they specifically divided us by religion and culture, if India today would be more like other Asian cultures where people reach across religions and participate in practices from multiple different faiths.
In hindsight, it may have been for the good actually....else the identity of Bharat would have been largely Islamic due to the Mughal rule prevailing around the time the British entered the scene...
@@shephherd I wouldn't say so, since the majority was still hindu. Also, that is the what intermingling is. Mughal adopts hindu traditions and hindus adopt persian traditions, it would be a mixture of culture making it it's own thing. Nothing wrong with that.
Best hard work and impartial vedios
@6:50 the word ‘rupee’ itself is a derivative of ‘rupya’ which was in vogue from 400 BC (Panini, Chanakya, et al) , glad that Sher Shah adopted it :), no use taunting viewers with half knowledge

"Sher Shah Shuri invented the rupiya coin, take note Indian Nationalists another thing to change"
Savage
Although, I doubt they'll want more change in the currency after the 2016 Indian banknote demonetisation.
Well good for sher shah suri, but how could he invent the coin? Coins in India date back to 600 BCE. The coins were usually in silver and hence were always called rupyakam.
@@sakshampandita8522 there was probably no rupia between the Mauryan and Surid Dynasties. And yes you're right, he reinvented it.
@@AlMuqaddimahYT imo Suri was the best muslim ruler to ever rule India. His administrative system was continued by Akbar and that's the reason for Akbar's stable governance. Suri was also a pious and good man, who was a student of the Hadith and Quran. He also was an extremely tolerant ruler and was a fierce warrior. Babur himself had told that he senses the feeling of rebellion from him.
@@mohammedfaizan9922 Hmm I do agree that he was pretty tolerant. His rule was also marked with innovations. Along with Akbar the only exception to otherwise a whole list of intolerant muslim rulers.

Due to Sha Jahan's reckless spendings in countless building projects the empire was doing badly financially. Aurangzeb had to implement the austerity measures that he did, however his endless military campaigns didn't help the cause ultimately.
That happens when you become a jihadi rather than focusing on communal harmony

@6:58 is where I started to lose all the built up respect I had for this guy. I thought finally someone, trying to shed light on a complex piece of history without bias, but alas, jest and trolling remains a part of human nature.

Don’t really know whom do you label as “Hindu-Nationalists”, but reducing truth and reconciliation efforts to a mere joke is in bad taste.

Waiting for a video on Fateh, Tipu Sultan.
Do one for Tippu Sultan please! The last resistance against the british
Tipu was not freedom fighter but was doing only for his own political interest
@@kabrabamabubensingh535 just like marattha
@@kabrabamabubensingh535 True. None of the rulers like the Marathas, Jhansi Ki Rani etc were really freedom fighters. They were just fighting for their own Kingdom. However, we must give the Kingdom of Mysore the credit that it was one of the few Indian states to recognise the threat from British Power at a time when the Marathas, Awadh, Hyderabad, Travancore and the Rajputs were all allied with the British and were made to fight against each other and against Mysore as per the divide and rule strategy. Mysore, on the other hand, was trying to balance the power by bringing the French and Napoleon into the game.
