Thanks for the video Victor! A few additions I'd like to do. The Aesthedes is NOT comparable with Photoshop. That's saying that a toddler with crayons is an architect ;). Adobe Illustrator is the light version of what Aesthedes is. It can still do things which take a long time in modern computers. The main thing is, Aesthedes is Vector based, not pixel based. It was used as a design computer (CAD), developing tons of logos and classified documents (including actual money) due the incredibly high resolution. Also fun thing to know is that we now have a working Alpha based computer in the museum that runs Windows NT 4 :) .

The original Aesthedes had ten 68000s. The Aesthedes 2 has two 68020s and four Thomson EF9365 graphics processors. There's actually an addon for the PET which uses an EF9365 to provide high-resolution monochrome graphics.

@@douro20 Yep. The first Aesthedes ran it's OS from ROM, but in the Aesthedes 2 (which we have) it was changed to SCSI harddisks. And only one of the harddisks is working in ours and on the 17th, we will get a harddisk from another Aesthedes 2 which we're going to clone and hopefully boot ours fully.

The Russian relic at 9:00 is part of the school informatics classroom, and "КУВТ" on the case stands for the "Complex of Educational Computing Equipment". At my school, those were replaced by Intel Celerons only around 1999. We called them Yamahas :)

You should see the strings in the Linux driver for the Sun "Happy Meal" 10BT network interface.
According to Applefritter the computer with the name "CaCHE" on it is a CHE-1 which is a computer kit from the Computer Hobbyvereniging Eindhoven which was compatible with the Apple II+. Apparently it was designed by a team from Philips Research on their spare time and it didn't originally have a case or a keyboard; both of these were later projects called TouCHE and CaCHE (CaCHE is pronounced like the Dutch "kastje" which means little box).

Yes, around 1300 mainboards are made. The most common case (which you could buy if you were member) is the CACHE, but we also have one build in an aftermarket Apple II-case. They were all officially sold without ROMS but somehow, accidentally, the Apple II-roms always fell in the sockets... We have the complete series of club magazines from CHE (called Tjee), as well as one completely new CACHE as it was sold. Came straight from an old Natlab employee.

Well, there is obviously a need for a Home Server Museum after watching this and also having seen Victor’s collection.

I'd still love to visit once all the measures are gone.
Not sure if i'd ever bring my retro PC to lan party's though, i'd fear it gets damaged during transport and its my self built dream machine.

Most of the time when a computer or a component is rare, it means they were crap to begin with and that is why there are no more of them around.

How many toll roads between Haarlem and Helmond?
Nothing wrong with a Tandon BusinessCard. I had one in my Tandy 1000 TL. It's basically just a standard Tandon MFM drive and a Western Digital disk controller on a frame which plugs into an ISA slot. Western Digital continued making them for a while after they bought Tandon.

I have gotten the click-of-death several times. It’s very real. I also cured it one time, by putting the drive in the freezer.
