Thela Hun Ginjeet is one hard core song from one hardcore band. Jimi Hendrix saw King Crimson play in 1969 and proclaimed them to be the greatest band on Earth.

There's Fripp's story of some dude resplendidly all in white, with his arm in a cast, coming backstage to shake Fripp's hand, which turned out to be Hendrix, who, (according to the drummer's sister who was sittng at JH's table at the time) was juming up and down during their set and, yeah, proclainmg them to be the greatest band in the world.
A slightly better reception than from Eric Burdon, who heckled KC at their first LA gig.

@@milttrugood4817 Well, truth-be-told, Jimi wanted to play with everyone, and supposedly had made overtures to a lot of people, particularly Miles Davis and Robert Fripp (there is a story about ELP, but that's just a myth). But he also had a reputation for not following through. He was definitely "on the prowl" at the time of his death, since The Experience had broken up, and he was absolutely in love with King Crimson and Fripp, and Fripp similarly of Hendrix. I think there's a good chance had he lived, they would have at least gotten together to give it a go... but given Jimi's notorious lack of "Discipline", and Fripp's notorious hard-headedness, one does wonder how well it would have worked. It did for Joe Zawinul and Jaco for a number of years, but I could see Jimi storming out of a Fripp rehearsal after 20 minutes too, and never returning! Unfortunately, we will never know.
