    It's not that foreign players are the only ones who flop. They just do it better.

    Hard to choose between Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Tony Allen..

    Great point! Normally, you're supposed to throw it up and back as far as you can. I'll look at it again, but it's possible he knew Kawhi was right there.

    4:44 How the heck Gasol started shooting motion then changed his mind to give a pass then understood that he was fouled and still pulls out a shot and made it. Even if it wasn't count that was some amazing reflexes.

    He was fresh for the OT.. should've said this in the breakdown..darn

    Spurs are tactically the best team in the NBA. Im european, but they are diffidently my favorite team in the NBA. Also would love to see Marc Gasol moving San Antonio, i think he would fit in perfectly.

    I stared at the screen shot of his clipboard, and from what I can see, Bayless ran the right route, but yes - Hollins wanted him to curl into the lane

  • @bballbreakdown
    @bballbreakdown  11 років тому

    Yes - all that is very true

  • @bballbreakdown

    I think Pondexter is more important. I'd start him in place of Tony Allen

  • @bballbreakdown

    I'm scratching my head... Gasol comes out too high and on a bad angle often. That said, Spurs are making that catch difficult.

    At 2:45, where Cory Joseph saved the ball, you don't need both feet in bounds, you only need one foot. Google "Ask Bernie: Out-of-bounds rebounds and more" and click on the first result to read for yourself.

    Hollins has actually drawn the last play to be a quick 2-point play. The recap video from nba website has shown that he was shouting at the players when Bayless released the 3-point shot.

    Hey Coach, the Flagrant Foul call isn't "if he made a play on the ball", it's whether the contact was "excessive or unnecessary". Manu's foul didn't look excessive or unnecessary, he was just stopping a layup. Idk, just something to think about. It really could've been a normal personal foul IMO, but it doesn't really matter.

    It's a shame that Grizzlies fans finally have hope of a Finals appearance, only to have that dream kicked in the dirt by the Spurs.

    Did you watch the Suns from 2000-2010? They had several attempts to get to the finals but every single time something kept them back: injuries, Kobe in his prime, Robert friggin Horry hip checking Nash, etc etc.

    i think Hollins did call for a quick two (although he uses all his timeout). He was mad at Bayless making that mistake.

    it's so early to say grizzlies are losing & i was going to say the same but after seeing how they came back in the 4th quarter with 18 points deficit to force OT convince me that the grizzlies can win the next 2 games which in their home court. it make sense because the series between this 2 teams is a split 2-2 winning in their home courts. If it happens the momentum shift to grizzlies & we are seeing deja vu of last year playoffs where thunders won 4 straight games after spurs ahead 2-0.

    Coach, at 2:48... I've always been slightly confused about this rule
    So Joseph had to establish an on-court position (both feet) before touching the ball?

    Why are you so confident that the Grizzlies would beat the Spurs and the Heat?
    You got me on the Spurs. They've bounced back a lot in this postseason, but they strike me as a bigger version of the Pacers right now.
    Better at ball-handling, but roughly the same on defense and offense. Norris Cole is a lockdown defender - he can shut down Conley for stretches in the fourth.

    Any chance the NBA continues to enforce flopping fines such as when Tony Parker drew the foul on Gasol or Allen's ridiculous flopping on the floor like a fish?

  • @vietbballsk8er

    That was a bad 3 at the end but understandable what they were trying to do. They trust that their defense could probably win the game so they took the early shot, make it great, miss it and maybe offensive rebound.

  • @JMXMCOC
    @JMXMCOC 11 років тому

    Memphis has been horrible offensively & i give the credit to the spurs defense. They shutdown Z-bo w/ double team in the post, i was expecting Gasol to be aggresive offensively but it didn't happen & grizz weak outside offense contributes to their torment. Grizz couldn't score for the lapse of more or less 5 minutes everytime hence spurs huge lead. If only the Grizz can score consistently w/o dry spell they will win the game. Popovich is God & hollins needs 2 more brain to compete w/ him.
