I agree with you on the artwork, back in the day if 1 of books in in story arc had bad art I would just read it in the store and hope the next 1 was done by another artist

I owned the action figure of Clean Sweep and Sludge Viper growing up.

Honestly, these days, the transparently-evil dialogue from Cesspool and the other execs isn't remotely unbelievable.

I vividly remember buying and loving this issue. But I was disappointed that the Toxo-Zombie guy didn't come out of the sludge. Also, I loved the bright colors. I'm a little ashamed to admit it but this was my younger self's favorite era of GI-Joe. Well, maybe the heavy Ninja Force stuff. I loved it all.

Man I had this issue (got it in a huge longbox full of various comics) as a kid, and the Eco Warrior version of Flint. What a trip down memory lane.

I LOL'd when Clean Sweep said "Peek a boo!"
Great review. Being a kid in the late 80's/early 90's, I loved the Eco-Warriors and I had the entire subteam. However, you are spot on with this comic. It does seem like Larry was going through the motions with this one.

In retrospect I think Hama may have leaned extra heavy on the ninjas in the 90s because it was the one fanciful aspect of the toys he still felt an affinity for. He just wasn't too into the more outlandish aspects of the toyline.

I love the wild colors of 90s toys. Eco warriors are awesome earth hater! ;)

10:08 'Wall Street' was only a few years old... business puns and hating commerce were still in vogue!

even though I was in from 82, I liked the idea of eco warriors,
they at least had a good excuse for flashy colors.
I did nt like the cover of that issue, but art inside was better than some others.
ecos were cool, but, badly exploited I think, nothing a good cartoon story could nt fix.
    but it never happened.

There is a great comic from the 60’s from dc called the war that time forgot, it ran in Star Spangled War Stories from issue 90 to 138 off and on ( more on than off ). They are well written ( for the crossover material bass ) the art is well done. Kind of an ani log type format. But when you can have dinosaurs and military in the same book. Stand back I am all in. Just a reference for you. You probably already know of this series. But I just had to comment. Keep up the awesome work and as always keep reading comics.👍

To be fair the eco warriors thing and the drug elimination stories only lasted three issues. This issue doesn’t represent the final third of the series well, as it still had some good stuff in it.

This video helps show how ridiculous it is when a superhero or g.i. joe sits around in their full costume without making themselves more comfortable.

COBRA has legitiemte business fronts? If they are profitable perhaps it would not be wise for them to stick to terrorist activities!!!
Larry Hama also wrote some excellent Wolverine solo comics.

It is obvious that Christopher and Clean Sweap are one and the same person! He does not do the best job covering the special effects! their eyes are very similar!! Is it the SAME!!!??
But you are a good comics reviewer on UA-cam!!! Perhaps the best I have seen who is not pompus like Linkara. Keep up the good reviews!!
