AWESOME job using that metal post to support the bed while working underneath! Also, good job for encouraging others to do the same. Thanks for the videos!

I have basically the exact same truck for my farm with a few different things than yours. Mine is a 1976 and doesn’t have those snap ring rims or that crazy looking dump lift mechanism and many more things. Mine is also red! We name it BIG RED
You really should put some Delo or Rotella in that older engine, much better for them, it doesn't have to be a diesel to use that oil, the zinc is a big plus. Just found yer channel today, really been enjoying thanks!
I like this because it has that worn look all over it and because it has a dump bed and it has that classic work truck look too plus my dad owned a 1985 chevy c10 and so I how to work on it
Would be good to make a 4 wheel drive truck ! Real 4 XD tires --- you have to check the hydraulic valve lifters, and make a good valve adjustment !!! All the best with that piece of machinery !!! Keep strong and take good care !
Good morning. I just came upon your channel and I like what you have going on. I subbed your channel so I can follow you. I have a 1954 Dodge Fargo 1/2 ton that I am restoring and I hope I can learn something from following you. I hope that you will drop over to the Dog House and maybe give me some tips. I am new to restoring and I really don't know what I am doing so I can use all the help that I can get. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
I had a 79 chevy step side and while I didn't have a temp gauge I had the idiot light but for as long as I had the truck the light was disconnected because the sensor was bad. They had a rep for going bad all the time.
Sadly that happens a lot with Chevy trucks from 73 to 80. the hood springs are too strong and after years of being opened and closed, they finally bend there. If you're lucky enough to have one not bent, you can get a renforcement kit from J C Whitney, least you could. Nowadays, you could take 2 strips of metal and do the same.
You don't just pull down on the 73-80 hoods. You push back, and then push down, and if you don't the hood will bend. The hoods were designed to crumple, so if you were in a wreck it wouldn't come back into the cab.
Okay so you described in the beginning of the video that the carb is flooding the engine and you still decide to always keep pumping the gas and you kept going wide open. Like I'm surprised you didn't hydrolock the engine. I didn't like how you kept on forcing the engine to stay on..like I believed you just got to chill out you you don't know how to drive a standard transmission in general. Your gonna kill the starter. You didn't even give the engine time to warm up. My father isn't even that aggressive with his k20...I thought it was just harsh for the poor truck.

Love the fire works blahh
Hiii Dave you got yourself a job for sure.....But who dose nothing will get nothing .....S o up to work Friend !!! Best regards from French Guyana !!!
After a good clean up looks like a real classic car now and I Like The Voice really really relaxed

Dam, even my ten year old gran son is smart enough to dump some gas down the Carb.
Thanks!

Nice! 👍
Chevrolet c30 sitting there long time hope you get engine running out all the grass need tune up awesome friend bless you get gas truck
Thank you! We just ordered a new carb for it and a fuel tank, should be a decent truck once we get the bugs worked out of it
You have a very dependable truck there.
The tire has a solid lock ring on it. Be careful with it. I trained on them in 82.
Yeah I let a shop mess with it
You really should put some Delo or Rotella in that older engine, much better for them, it doesn't have to be a diesel to use that oil, the zinc is a big plus.

Needed to change the u bolts when you fixed that rear axle ...better watch and make sure they stay tight
Yeah I’ll keep and eye on them, thanks
Oh man that’s a nice truck
Thanks!
What other kinds truck can you drive from its grave zero chevy all day I own a 87 Cadillac fleetwood love it I also owned a 82 chevy van.
I’m not sure I need to find some more!

Its called, character bro. I love it too
It is obvious that the idle circuit on the carburetor is partially clogged

Why would you make it 4 wheel drive??
I believe thaz either a 77 or 78 because of the headlamp bezels. The 79 - 80 models had bezels with the front blinker lights in them.
Used oil in a spray bottle for lube; now that, is recycling :D
That was fun to watch!
Thank you!
Other day I saw a truck exactly like that sitting in the same kind of spot in the same kind of condition.
Awesome
it can be converted into caravan the moving house its that big truck
satisfyng video👍
Long live classic cars
Yes!
Nice video I was surprised to see you only have 194 subscribers
Thanks for watching! Yeah it’s taken a long time to get 194 haha
TheMechanicDave yeah currently on my UA-cam channel I'm working on getting 100 subscribers on my UA-cam channel you should subscribe! hehe

This truck sounds like it's ready to go to work.
I think it is 👍

How hard is it to bleed the lines on a c30 diesel. Have one the farm needed new fuel filter. Now it's got air in the lines.
I had a 79 chevy step side and while I didn't have a temp gauge I had the idiot light but for as long as I had the truck the light was disconnected because the sensor was bad. They had a rep for going bad all the time.
Did anyone else notice at 4:30 when he closed the hood he bent the hell out of it
It was already bent
LOL i saw that your not joking

They are not called Chevy bent hoods for nothing. :)

Probably little too late, but what size wheels/tires does it got? I’m looking at a 73 and they should be the same
I liked this video...Thanks
what motor does it have? ima ford guy but i like chevy tho
Chevy will run with just an oil jug with a little hole in the bottom of it an placed over the card..
Yes sir
This car is from 1976 and earlier, because the interiors are in wooden style
Yes, as my 80 C30 has no wood in the interior and the grill is the smaller squares
Depends on trim level, not the year

I think the truck wants to do a burn out not move lol
Seems that way haha
Great video mate. Nice looking truck and Love the sound of the old V8. Which part of USA are you in? Watching from Australia.
Awesome! I’m in the West Virginia mountains!
Would you ever consider selling it or a few parts?
Yeah it’s for sale 1500
I bet that snake was happy about you moving its house lol
Yeah for real lol I’m just glad he didn’t come out on me
looks like you have a axle seal leak or a brake fluid leak in the rear
Holy ether shot
I wasn’t messing around haha

Ok
I would think it had a rat motor in it at one time with it having the hidroboost brakes..
Could have
R i p whatever clutch with left.
The clutch is fine
Good luck getting those snap ring rims serviced. Didn't they outlaw those?0
Those aren't lock ring rims
Guessing you didn't look too well. Yes they are
They are, we have one place that will mess with them around here
@@TheMechanicDave we do to here in upstate S C blue ridge tire😎👍
@@TheMechanicDave go to a junk yard and get some tubeless rims for it
It needs to be choked in order to force the debris out of the idle circuit
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is it a 5 speed
Kevin Towler 4 speed
Yea 4 speed
sounds like fuel pump or float
Had all kinds of junk in the tank it clogged the filter up
Must not live in Michigan those shackle bolts would've needed to be torched off
Massacre to watch not checking oil, coolant ,spaying 5 galons of ether in the engine ,burning out the starter etc
Fluids where checked off camera, starting fluid won’t hurt the engine, and the starter is fine
Timing is off and needs a rebuild kit for the carb
Fuck all the shit bad comments, mostbof them is couch mechanics.... Always knows better.
Where. Can. I. Find. A. 1979. Chevy. C30.
3:50 💪😳😳
Why don't you let it warm up for a few minutes ?
I did
You don’t ever reuse u bolts. Never do that.
I’ve never had a issue with it
Typical chevy
Haha
Вот настоящий грузовой а не газ 52 53 ибучи
I work at a suspension shop for my 8 years cut them suckers with a torch you're useless cut them get new ones
Never heard of u bolts going bad
Well well the mechanic Dave u-bolts to go
this 1976
Not 1979
Po
I don't think he knows how to drive a.stick
Truck was stalling out
Your ruining the motor by not tuning the carburetor so it will run decent
It had bad fuel in it
It needs to stay dead, chevys suck.
Lol
Yeah right you must be a ford prius or junk dodge person😂😂
Try this with a ford the same year, you can't because they are all dead
@@kyboy5 amen to that!!😎😂👍
